For diseases of the abdomen and stomach, retain Zusanli (ST36); for ailments of the waist and back, seek Weizhong (BL40); for disorders of the head and neck, look for Lieque (LU7); for conditions of the face and mouth, He Gu (LI4) gathers them.
(From *Zhenjiu Juying*)
For disorders of the head and face, needle Zhìyīn (BL67); for ailments of the legs and feet, seek Fēngfǔ (GV16); for diseases of the chest and heart, apply the reducing method to Shàofǔ (HT8); for ailments of the umbilical and abdominal region, needle Qūquán (LR8). For various disorders of the shoulder and back, needle Zhōngzhǔ (TE3) below; for stiffness and pain in the waist and knees, rely on Jiāoxìn (KI8); for pain in the hypochondrium and lateral thigh, Hòuxī (SI3) is wonderful; for swelling in the thighs and knees, reduce Tài Chōng (LR3). When hernia of the yin manifests with swelling like an egg, Bǎihuì (GV20) is a miraculous point truly effective. For headache at the vertex of the head with eyes unable to open, needling Yǒngquán (KI1) ensures peace and stability. For crane-knee disease (swelling and difficulty moving), Chízé (LU5) can relieve bone and tendon pain; furthermore, Qūchí (LI11) is excellent for exploring the root cause and regulating balance; if one wishes for rapid recovery, add Fēngfǔ (GV16) for needling. For spasticity and urgency in the arms, deep needling of Chízé (LU5) removes numbness; for wind-induced spasticity in the waist and back, attack with Qūchí (LI11) at a depth of 1.5 cun. The five types of hemorrhoids arise from hot blood; needling Chéngshān (BL57) makes the illness vanish. When asthma attacks prevent sleep, insert Fēnglóng (ST40) to a depth of 0.3 cun. For delirious speech and night sweats as if seeing ghosts, when lucid, needle Jiānshǐ (PC5). For cold bones and marrow, apply moxibustion; remember clearly Língdào (HT4) as a miraculous point. Malaria with chills and fever is truly fearsome; understand the excess and deficiency and apply intent; Jiānshǐ (PC5) should be extended to Tòugōu (GB8), and Dàzhuī (GV14) with seven moxa cones aligns with sage treatment; for frequent daily attacks that do not cease, deepen Jīnmén (GB63) by 0.7 cun. For malaria occurring every three days, with initial chills followed by heat: take Fùliū (KI7) if chills exceed heat, use Jiānshǐ (PC5) if heat exceeds chills. If suffering from Shanghan (cold damage) with residual heat, where the jaw is locked due to wind obstruction and medicine is hard to administer, for stiff neck, opisthotonos, and fixed gaze, use gold needles with intent on Lièquē (LU7). In Shanghan with cold extremities and absent pulse, carefully search for two miraculous points: Fùliū (KI7) runs half a cun along the bone. When limbs return warmth and pulse floats, understand the exchange of yin and yang: for cold, tonify Juégǔ (GB39); for heat, reduce Juégǔ without worry; if the pulse is floating and surging, apply reduction to resolve; if deep and fine, apply tonification to heal. Baihe Shanghan (Lily Disease) is hardest to treat; deduce the miraculous method of divine needles: for locked jaws and closed eyes where medicine cannot enter, one needle into Hé Gǔ (LI4) yields remarkable effect. For Húhuò Shanghan with oral ulcers, administer Huanglian Xijiao Tang (Coptis and Rhinoceros Horn Decoction); for worms eating muscles in the zang-fu, needled Dìcāng (ST4) divinely. For Shanghan abdominal pain with worms seeking food, vomiting ascariasis is hard to attack with Wumei (Mume Fruit); death is certain after ten or nine days, but Zhōngwǎn (CV12) restores stomach qi flow. For Shanghan stagnation and chest binding with yellowed eyes and no sweat, Yǒngquán (KI1) at 0.3 cun quickly induces whole-body sweating. For Shanghan stagnation with hypochondriac accumulation and pain, use Qīmén (LR14) to see profound merit; if sweating should occur but does not, reduce Hé Gǔ (LI4); for spontaneous sweating and jaundice, rely on Fùliū (KI7). Fēihǔ (EX-UE3) opens stagnation, dispels wind and guides qi to bring peace. Gang-Jiang (spastic syndromes) are most erratic; with locked jaws, closed eyes, and red face, hot blood flows into the heart and lung fu organs; needled Shàoshāng (LU11) with gold needles. How to remove the root of fullness? Yīnbāo (LR9) needling is effective as a spirit; regardless of age, follow the method, requiring the patient to rise immediately. For trauma, contusions, and tetanus, first attack the painful area with needles, then establish efficacy at Chéngshān (BL57); Zhen Quan left this endless meaning. For ten years of spring waist and leg pain, if needling fails to awaken, Dàdū (SP2) guides qi to explore the root; seeking prescriptions in medicine is vain waste of gold. For chronic pain in feet and knees, seek intention around the medial and lateral malleoli; the points Kūnlún (BL60) and Lǚxī (KI7) dissipate promptly at the right time. How to treat Feng-Bi (wind-dampness), Wei-Jue (flaccidity and cold)? Dàzhù (BL11) and Qūquán (LR8) are truly wonderful; for fullness and difficulty extending both feet and hypochondria, Fēihǔ (EX-UE3) divine needle reaches 0.7 cun; how to remove the root of soft waist? Shenmiao Wěizhōng (BL40) stands effective.
