The *Huangdi Neijing* (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon) states: The Sanjiao (Triple Burner), as the official in charge of irrigation, is where water passages emerge. It further states: The Upper Jiao is like mist, the Middle Jiao like fermentation, and the Lower Jiao like a ditch.
When the human mind is clear and silent, and desires do not arise, essence and qi scatter throughout the Sanjiao (Triple Burner), nourishing and flourishing all the vessels. However, once thoughts arise and desire-fire blazes up, it contracts and gathers the Sanjiao (Triple Burner), causing essence and qi to overflow and be discharged along with the Mingmen (Gate of Life). Thus, this fu organ is called the Sanjiao (Triple Burner).
There are twenty-three acupoints on the Hand-Shaoyang channel: Guanchong (LI11, note: text says SJ1 but context implies SJ channel points, actually Guanchong is SJ1), Yemen (SJ2), Zhongzhu (SJ3) beside them; Yangchi (SJ4), Waiguan (SJ5), Zhigou (SJ6) in their proper positions; Huizong (SJ7), Sanyangluo (SJ8), Sidu (SJ9) are longer; Tianjing (SJ10), Qinglengyuan (SJ11), Xiaoluo (SJ12); Naohui (SJ13), Jianliao (SJ14), Tianliao (SJ15); Tianyou (SJ16), Yifeng (SJ17), Chimai (SJ18); Luxi (SJ19), Jiaosun (SJ20), Sizhukong (SJ23); Heliao (SJ21), Ermen (SJ22) listen with regularity (forty-six points on both sides).
This meridian begins at Guanchong (SJ1) and ends at Ermen (SJ22). Taking Guanchong (SJ1), Yemen (SJ2), Zhongzhu (SJ3), Yangchi (SJ4), Zhigou (SJ6), Tianjing (SJ10) and other Jing-River-Sea-Source-Channel points, it starts between the little finger and the next finger, ascends out between the second finger, follows the dorsal aspect of the wrist, emerges between the two bones of the forearm, ascends through the elbow, follows the lateral aspect of the arm, reaches the shoulder, crosses behind the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, enters the supraclavicular fossa, distributes in the Danzhong (Chest Center), scatters and connects with the Pericardium, descends through the diaphragm, and extensively belongs to the Sanjiao (Triple Burner); its branch rises from Danzhong (Chest Center), emerges from the supraclavicular fossa, ascends the neck, goes straight up behind the ear, emerges above the upper angle of the ear, then bends down to the cheek at the zygomatic arch; another branch enters the ear from behind the ear, reaches the outer canthus. This meridian has abundant qi and little blood; during the Hai hour, qi and blood flow into it.
It receives connection from the Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian, is the middle clear fu organ, guides yin and yang, opens blockages. Medication should move like pearls on a plate, not like carving a mark on a boat to find the sword. I briefly record this in the previous chapter, awaiting further debate by comrades.

Tianjing (SJ10): Behind the large bone of the elbow, one cun above the elbow, in the gap between the two tendons on the accessory bone, taken by flexing the elbow and hugging the chest. Zhen Quan said: One cun after flexing the elbow, take it by crossing hands and pressing on the knee cap. It is the He-Sea Earth point where the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian enters. Reduce for Sanjiao excess. *Su Zhu* advises needle 1 cun, retain for seven breaths. *Tongren* advises moxa three mounds, *Mingtang* advises moxa five mounds, needle 2 fen.
