When performing the "Qi Shang" (Ascending Qi) operation, rub five times; combine with seven tonifying manipulations plus rubbing, and three additional tonifications to complete the replenishment. The key is to incorporate stretching and lifting movements so that Yang Qi disperses on the exterior. Guide the induction of sweating in those without sweat through rhythmic breathing.
Rub repeatedly for more than dozens of times. If heat arises, increase rubbing to regulate Yang Qi. Combine stretching, lifting, and bilateral pressing to induce sweating throughout the meridians, thereby eliminating the root cause of the disease.
For the hands, adopt clockwise rocking for eleven or seventeen times. After one "Qi Shang" operation, immediately perform a horizontal Yin manipulation. Following this method, if rocking induces severe nausea/vomiting sensation, add pressing and pause exhalation to address coldness.
For "Qi Xia" (Descending Qi), use horizontal reverse manipulation. If the circulation of Qi is chaotic, repeat seven times. Then re-apply the "Qi Shang" lifting technique. Continuous vomiting seven times indicates high efficacy.
Lao Gong (PC8) bilaterally treats Heart Wind. Apply lifting and pressing with tonification, ensuring uniform finger-tapping frequency. For the chest and heart, Da Ling (PC7) is used to ascend Yang Qi. In emergencies, Sheng Yin points are taken, and lifting/pressing techniques stabilize the condition.
Zu San Li (ST36) uses mild "Qi Shang" extraction. Continuous scraping manipulation clarifies the subcutaneous sensation under the fingers. Subsequently, apply the Cun-Guan descending press method to harmonize Qi and Blood before withdrawing the needle to ensure calmness.
For stroke-induced aphasia, puncture the Heart Meridian. Observe the floating and sinking pulses at Si Guan (Four Gates: Hegu LI4 and Taichong LR3). On the next day, treat Yong Quan (KI1) with twisting manipulation, and puncture Yu Ji (LU10) on the Lung Meridian. Puncturing these points restores voice. Seek Yang Qi ascending from Zu San Li (ST36) and downward to Tai Chong (LR3) for bloodletting. This unblocks Qi and Blood, preventing mental fatigue.
For restless spirit and unsettled mind, puncture the Heart Meridian. Follow the Inner Pass (Nei Guan PC6) and Pericardium Meridian upward. Frequently select Shen Men (HT7) on the Heart Meridian. Retain the descending method for Zu San Li (ST36) and Zhao Hai (KI6). Also select Tai Chong (LR3) on the Liver Meridian, and palpate Wai Guan (TE5) using "Qi Shang" stroking. Moxibustion should be heavily applied to Xin Shu (BL15) and Gan Shu (BL18) (e.g., 14 moxa cones). The lifting and scraping of these four points follow a unified theory.
Men often suffer from bone and tendon pain. First, employ the sweating method focusing on ascending Yang Qi. After ascending Yang, pause exhalation sufficiently. Tonify seven times within the rubbing technique. Rubbing utilizes "Qi Shang" methods, followed by stronger principles of ascending Yang. Add scraping, trembling, and three pressing-tonifications. Withdrawing the needle after continuous treatment leads to natural recovery.
Women present with various bone and tendon disorders. First, employ the descending Yin method with ascending Qi冲 (rushing up). Pause exhalation for over thirty cycles. Then use the sweating method to unblock Qi and Blood. Induce sweating with three tonifications and four or five sedations. Lifting and stretching upon needle withdrawal yields great merit. Finally, rub and lift to expel Yang Qi outward, naturally emptying pathogenic factors from the bones.
For persistent vomiting in women, Zhong Ji (CV3) forms a disk with Yang Qi in the center. Qi Hai (CV6) ascends Yang Qi upward. At the epigastrium and Nei Guan (PC6), use circular pressing/manipulation to attack the pathogen. If sounds are heard reaching five to seven times, vomiting ceases and the chest/heart becomes regulated. Apply descending methods to Zu San Li (ST36) and Zhao Hai (KI6); bowel and bladder movements will subsequently become unobstructed.
