Yamén (GV15) treats neck and nape stiffness, tongue relaxation with inability to speak. *Mingtang Jing* states: loss of voice with inability to speak, and tongue stiffness. Yamén is also called Sheheng and Sheyan; it is the intersection of the Du Mai (Governor Vessel) and Yangwei Mai (Yang Linking Vessel). It enters and connects to the tongue root. Thus, this point is indeed where the tongue root is connected. For cases of tongue relaxation with inability to speak, this point should be treated.
Lianquan (CV23) treats swelling under the tongue, difficulty in speaking, tongue relaxation with drooling, cough with upward Qi, panting, vomiting of foam, jaw lock, and tongue root contraction causing difficulty in swallowing. Lianquan is also called Sheben, meaning the root of the tongue. Therefore, it can treat conditions such as swelling under the tongue with difficulty in speaking, tongue relaxation with drooling, and tongue root contraction, which are similar to those treated in *Qianjin Fang*. For such diseases, acupuncture and moxibustion on this point are appropriate.
Daying (ST5) treats tongue stiffness with inability to speak. Yifeng (TE17) treats inability to speak.
