Huiyang (BL35) treats deficiency and exhaustion of Yang Qi, resulting in damp sweating of the genitalia. (From *Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing* [Manual of Acupoints of the Copper Man]) Yuji (LU10), (referenced under Chills and Fever), treats genital sweating. (From *Mingtang Jing* [Classic of the Bright Hall]) Qianyun (?), governs dampness of the genitalia and other ailments within the abdomen. Zhongji (CV3), Yinqiao (KD6), Yaokaojiao (BL84), Yinjiao (CV7), and Ququan (LR8) govern itching of the genitalia. (From *Qianjin Fang* [Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold]) Huiyin (CV1) governs coldness of the glans penis. Shaofu (HT8) governs itching of the genitalia. (Referenced under Hernia)
Zhang Zhongjing discussed Seven Injuries (*Qi Shang*), stating: First is genital sweating; second is cold sperm; third is clear semen; fourth is scanty semen; fifth is dampness and itching below the scrotum; sixth is frequent urination; seventh is nocturnal emissions with dreams of sexual intercourse with women.
Since genital sweating, dampness, and itching are among the Seven Injuries, should they not be treated early? (Some argue that literary pursuits generate dampness due to Qi, which is also caused by Heart Qi, as the Heart and Kidney are exterior-interior paired organs.)
*Qianjin Yi* [Supplement to Essential Prescriptions] discusses deficiency and damage, stating that diseases arise from Five Exhaustions (*Wu Lao*), leading to Six Extremities (*Liu Ji*). (See details under Chills and Fever). Subsequently, Seven Injuries arise: First is genital coldness; second is impotence; third is tension in the lower legs (Sanli area); fourth is continuous leakage of essence; fifth is scanty essence with damp scrotum; sixth is clear semen; seventh is frequent urination. (Symptoms include red and hot urine or stinging pain like needle pricks, small and flaccid genitals, constant dampness below the genitals, and clear, scanty semen. This discussion differs slightly from Zhang Zhongjing’s, hence it is recorded here.)
Ququan (LR8), (referenced under Infertility); Yinqiao (KD6), (referenced under Leukorrhea/Metrorrhagia); Dazhun (LR1), Qichong (ST30), (referenced under Hernia), govern swelling of the genitals. (From *Qianjin Fang*) Zhi Shi (BL52), Baohuang (?), treat... Treat pediatric genital swelling with three moxa cones. Ququan (LR8) treats painful swelling of the genitals. (Referenced under Wind-Lao) Qichong (ST30) treats female genital swelling. (Referenced under Menstrual Disorders) It also treats genital swelling. (Below *Mingtang Jing*, referenced under Hernia). Pangguang Shu (BL28) treats sores on the genitals. (Referenced under Red Urine)
A person suffered from genital swelling; the physician applied red clay to the affected area and prescribed Bawei Wan [Eight-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia], resulting in recovery. A child with genital swelling was also cured by applying red clay. (Currently, people use ink sticks rubbed on wood for application.) If chronic illness leads to genital swelling, the condition may be incurable; one should urgently moxa the Shuifen (CV9) acupoint. Shuifen can separate water and grain; failure to separate water and grain causes genital swelling. Not only the genitals swell, but other parts of the body may also swell. One should especially urgently consume Yuyuliang Wan [Yuyu Liang Pill]. (Referenced in *Ji Xiao Fang* [Prescriptions of Immediate Effect])
