Ancient practitioners did not use plasters for applying moxibustion sores. The goal was to have abundant pus discharge to ensure rapid cure. *Zisheng Jing* (Classic of Nourishing Life) records: in spring, use willow catkins; in summer, use bamboo membrane; in autumn, use new cotton wadding; in winter, use the white fine hair from a rabbit's belly or cat's belly hair. Nowadays, people mostly use plasters for convenience. One should not change them frequently. If the plaster remains intact, it can be kept on for a long time. If changed too frequently, the sore may heal quickly, but there is a fear that the root of the disease will not be completely eradicated.
