Heavy head, muscle spasms (Zhuan Jin), pain in the lower back and spine, hemiplegia, urinary incontinence, hardness of the lower abdomen, wind-bi, pain in the hip joint (Bi Shu), knee pain, weakness and lack of strength in the feet. For lumbar pain caused by excess conditions of the Kidney and Bladder, needling to bleed yields excellent results; for deficiency conditions, needling is contraindicated—exercise caution. ○ This acupoint primarily drains heat from the four limbs. Weizhong (BL40) is the Xi-Cleft point of Blood. For febrile diseases with no sweat, difficulty urinating, persistent epistaxis, rigid spine with opisthotonos, convulsions, epilepsy, hot feet, jue-ni (cold extremities), and inability to flex or extend, draining blood from the Foot-Taiyang channel brings immediate recovery. ○ For spontaneous sweating and night sweats, apply the tonifying method at Weizhong (from *Taiyi Ge*). Combined with Renzhong (GV26) it eliminates severe lumbar and spinal pain (difficult to control after injury); combined with Huantiao (GB30) it removes wind-dampness pain in the legs (from *Yulong Fu*); combined with Baihuan Shu (BL30) it treats back pain radiating to the waist, tested successfully (from *Baizheng Fu*). Indications: Head heat, epistaxis, alternating chills and fever, epilepsy, hernia, abdominal pain, hemorrhoidal swelling, hematochezia, lumbar and back pain, knee swelling, calf soreness, heel pain, cholera with spasms, tremors, inability to walk or stand. For cases with pathogenic heat, apply the reducing method. ○ For spasms, moxa according to age in cones; this is miraculous. For cholera, moxa 100 cones (from *Qianjin Fang*).
