The human body possesses 108 acupoints; among them, injury to 72 points is not fatal and will not be discussed further. The remaining 36 major acupoints are all vital areas where injury can lead to death. If injured, specific regulatory treatments must be applied as follows.
The forehead belongs to the Heart Meridian (Heart Channel). The Heart governs blood vessels and should not be damaged. After damage, exposure to wind is most feared. If beaten heavily causing unceasing bleeding, and the blood swells upon exposure to wind, death will occur in three to five days or six to seven days. If not exposed to wind and no swelling occurs, death will not ensue. Use Chuan Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), and Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), each one qian (approx. 3g), added to the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" for decoction and oral administration. Additionally, administer Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) three to four doses until recovery.
The point between the two eyebrows is named Mei Xin (Center of Eyebrows). Heavy beating here causes the head to swell like a bucket, leading to death in three days. Use the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" with added Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Chuan Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Fang Feng (Sapothnikoviae Radix), and Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Spica), each one qian five fen (approx. 4.5g), decocted and taken orally. If medication is refused, lack of swelling means survival, but edema with bleeding indicates certain death.
The sides of the forehead are the Tai Yang (Sun) points. Heavy beating here leads to death in seven days or half a month. If eyes and ears are damaged and blood coagulates into pus, survival is possible. Wind exposure must be avoided, as it causes swelling and death. Use Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) and Chuan Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), each one qian (approx. 3g), added to the Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction for decoction. Simultaneously, take Qi Li San (Seven-Cent Powder) two fen (approx. 0.6g) mixed in. Administer Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) twice. Apply Tao Hua San (Peach Blossom Powder) externally.
The back of the head is the Zhen Gu (Occipital Bone), which governs the twelve meridians and is also known as the Du Mai (Governing Vessel). It is the master of the body and must not be damaged. Heavy beating injuring the brain marrow results in death within five to seven days, or even one day in extreme cases. Use the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" with added Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) and Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), each one qian (approx. 3g), decocted together. Mix in Qi Li San (Seven-Cent Powder) three fen (approx. 0.9g) and administer Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) three to five doses. Even if seemingly recovered without medication, persistent posterior headache will remain.
The areas on both sides behind the head belong to the Tai Yang (Sun) Meridian, containing blood-storing points. Near the ears, they belong to the Liver and Gallbladder Meridians, containing Jue Yin points. Heavy beating damaging blood, combined with wind damaging qi and causing edema, leads to death in forty days. Use the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" with added Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), and Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), each one qian (approx. 3g), decocted and taken. Mix in Qi Li San (Seven-Cent Powder) three fen (approx. 0.9g) and administer Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) three times.
Above the heart region is the Hua Gai (Imperial Canopy) point, belonging to the Heart Meridian. A heavy straight punch causing unconsciousness and blood confusing the heart orifices is incurable and fatal. This injures Stomach Qi, preventing the movement of Qi and Blood in the Heart and Stomach. Use Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus) three qian (approx. 9g) and Liang Jiang (Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma) one qian (approx. 3g), added to the Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction for decoction. Add Qi Li San (Seven-Cent Powder) two qian five fen (approx. 0.75g) to move blood stasis in the Heart and Stomach. After three to five episodes of diarrhea indicating stasis expulsion, the condition improves. If diarrhea persists, stop it with cold congee. Administer Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) twice for full recovery. If the root cause is not eliminated, death occurs in thirty-six months.
The center of the chest is named Hei Tou Tou Xin (Black Tiger Stealing the Heart) point, belonging to the Heart Meridian. Heavy scraping from above or punching from below causes blurred vision and unconsciousness. Use the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" with added Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) one qian (approx. 3g) and Ding Xiang (Caryophylli Flos) five fen (approx. 1.5g), decocted together. Take Qi Li San (Seven-Cent Powder) three fen (approx. 0.9g) mixed in. Administer Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) three times, followed by Zi Jin Dan (Purple Gold Pill) three to five doses. Without medication, death occurs in one hundred twenty days.
Another prescription: Jin Zhu Ye (Bambusae Folium) two qian (approx. 6g), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) one qian five fen (approx. 4.5g), Gou Teng (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis) one qian (approx. 3g), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Zha Rou (Crataegi Fructus), Yi Yi Ren (Coicis Semen), and Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Radix), each five fen (approx. 1.5g); Chen Xiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum), Zhi Gan Cao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Spica), and Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), each three fen (approx. 0.9g). Add three green persimmon calices, decoct with half wine and half water. Mix with Dan Xing (Arisaematis Cum Bile) five fen (approx. 1.5g) for administration; this is effective.
One qian five fen below the heart region is the Ju Que (Great Abode) point, the curtain of the Heart. Heavy beating causes unconsciousness. Treatment involves striking the Lung Bottom Point on the right side, half a cun below, with a splitting fist blow to restore consciousness. Use the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" with added Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix) eight fen (approx. 2.4g) and Chuan Bei Mu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus) one qian (approx. 3g), decocted for two doses. Follow with Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) five to six doses and Zi Jin Dan (Purple Gold Pill) two to three doses. If unresolved, death occurs in one hundred twenty days.
The Shui Fen (Water Separation) point above the navel belongs to the Small Intestine and Stomach meridians. Heavy beating without medication leads to death in twenty-eight days. Use the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" with added Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) and Yuan Hu Suo (Corydalis Rhizoma), each one qian (approx. 3g), decocted together. Take Qi Li San (Seven-Cent Powder) three fen (approx. 0.9g) mixed in, followed by Duo Ming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) three doses.
One qian five fen below the navel is the Qi Hai (Sea of Qi) point. Heavy beating leads to death in nine days. Use the aforementioned "Thirteen-Ingredient Decoction" with added Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis) one qian (approx. 3g) and San Leng (Sparganii Rhizoma) one qian five fen (approx. 4.5g), decocted together.
