The prescription is found in Volume Twelve, Emergency Section.
Bai Fan (Alumen), one tael, and Xi Ye Cha (Fine Tea Leaves), five qian, are ground into powder, refined honey is added to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Take fifty pills with ginger decoction far from meals; long-term use will cause phlegm to be discharged through the stool.
\x For wheezing and edema of the four limbs:
Sheng Ban Xia (Raw Rhizoma Pinelliae), two taels, Fu Ling (Poria), two taels, Zhi Qiao (Fructus Aurantii, prepared by removing the pulp and stir-frying with flour), five qian, and Feng Hua Xiao (Fossilized Sodium Sulfate), two qian five fen (if difficult to prepare at once, pills may be made first). Zhen Yin Zhu (Pure Cinnabar), five qian, and Ming Fan (Alumen), one tael, are ground together. Place fire in an ironing pan, melt the medicine in a clay vessel, scrape off quickly, and roll into pills. Take one qian per dose.
Another prescription: Yi Zhi (Pear Juice), one cup, Jiang Zhi (Ginger Juice) and Bai Mi (White Honey), half a cup each, Bo He (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), three qian, are ground into fine powder, mixed with water, boiled for more than ten rolling boils, and taken. The qi-descending effect is as swift as a galloping horse.
Another prescription: Treat according to the First Prescription for Asthma/Xiao Hou (Asthma-like disorder); it is extremely effective.
Whenever excessive consumption of cold foods occurs, or due to Qi deficiency and weak spleen function leading to indigestion, food entering the stomach transforms entirely into fluid retention. Vomiting occurs without fixed timing; this condition is named Tan Yin (Phlegm-Fluid Retention). Chi Shi Zhi (Halloysitum Rubrum), one jin, is ground into powder. Take two qian per dose, delivered with wine, up to a maximum of three qian. Cumulative intake of one jin ensures lifelong cessation of vomiting phlegm-fluids and prevents dysentery. This medicine tonifies the five zang organs, making the person robust and healthy. Someone suffering from Tan Yin who failed all other medicines was cured by taking this.
Another prescription: Nuan Wei Gao (Stomach-Warming Plaster) and Yun Wei Wan (Stomach-Warming Pills) [see previous Spleen-Stomach section] are extremely effective.
Mania (Kuang Bing) can arise from Shang Han (Cold Damage); this is a temporary mania. Treat according to Zhang Zhongjing’s Shang Han section, using Bai Hu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) to drain fire. There are cases of mania persisting throughout the year without cure, where patients may wield knives to kill, curse officials, fail to recognize parents, wives, or children, feel joy upon seeing water, and anger upon seeing food. This results from deficiency of Heart Qi, allowing Heat Evil to take advantage and Phlegm-Qi to invade, thus forming mania. In such cases, draining fire is contraindicated because the fire resides in the Heart; eliminating phlegm is difficult because the phlegm is deep within the Heart. Only by tonifying the Qi of the Spleen and Stomach can the Heart naturally receive nourishment. Without needing to eliminate phlegm, it will transform itself; without needing to drain fire, it will vanish naturally. The prescription is called Hua Kuang Dan (Mania-Transforming Pill): Gao Li Shen (Korean Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), three qian, Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) and Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood), one tael each, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) and Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), one qian each, Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) and Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen), three qian each, and Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), one fen. Decoct in water and take. After one dose, mania stabilizes; after two doses, the illness resolves. The brilliance of this formula lies in tonifying the three meridians of the Heart, Spleen, and Stomach to transform phlegm, rather than draining fire. Draining fire would further injure Heart Qi and exacerbate salivary phlegm, making it impossible to stop the mania. Particularly ingenious is the use of one fen of Fu Zi to guide the Heart-tonifying and phlegm-resolving agents directly into the Heart, making Qi easier to tonify and phlegm easier to resolve, rendering the superfluous act of draining fire unnecessary. This is why its efficacy is like divine intervention.
Another prescription: Qing Gan Lan (Green Olive), ten jin (crushed), are boiled in a clay pot for more than ten rolling boils. Remove the pits, pound into a paste in a stone mortar, and boil again until flavorless. [Text incomplete].

Another prescription: Zhen Chuan Yu Jin (Curcumae Radix), seven taels, Bai Fan (Alumen), three taels. Form pills with Bo He Shui (Mint Water), coat with Zhu Sha (Cinnabar), size of a Chinese quince seed. Take once every morning with warm water. A woman suffered from Feng Dian (Madness/Epilepsy) for over ten years. After taking this for forty to fifty days, she felt as if an object had been removed from her chest area; continuing for ten more days resulted in complete recovery. This is because Yu Jin enters the Heart to remove bad blood, Bai Fan resolves stubborn phlegm, and Zhu Sha calms the spirit. After recovery, Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan (Emperor of Heaven's Tonification of the Heart Pill) should be modified and used for regulation to prevent recurrence.
Another prescription: First, restrain the patient. Apply moxibustion with Ai Rong (Artemisiae Argyi Flos) seven or nine times at a point three finger-breadths below the heart center. Then apply moxibustion seven times to both Tai Yang acupoints (Ex-HN5). Use Chen Sha (Cinnabar) and Chuan Bei Mu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus), three qian each, decocted in wine, taken twice. Then use Hai Feng Teng (Sargentodoxae Caulis), Feng Wei Cao (Pteridii Multifidi Herba), and Chuan Bei Mu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus), one and a half qian each, and Shi Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), three qian, decocted in water, taken for five to six doses. Alternatively, take Zi Jin Ding (Purple Gold Pellet) one to two qian. After recovery, make pills from Lu Di (Reed Stems) and Zao Rou (Jujube Flesh). Each pill weighs three fen. Take three pills for full recovery. Tested repeatedly with miraculous efficacy.
Another prescription: Si Mian (Silk Floss), one chi, burned to ash, taken with warm water. Mixing with wine for administration is even better.
