Da Yuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix) five liang, Tian Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) three liang, Jing Meipian (Borneolum Syntheticum) eight fen, Pipa Rou (Loquat Flesh) five liang (if unavailable, substitute with Zhe Beimu [Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus] one liang and five qian), Sheng Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) one qian. Grind all ingredients into powder together; they may be decocted into an ointment or formed into pills. For adults, the dosage is five qian for severe cases and four qian for mild cases; for children, the dosage is halved.
Take one chicken egg, make a small hole in it, insert seven buds of Lv'e Meihua (Green-stemmed Plum Blossom) that are about to bloom, seal the hole, steam until cooked, remove the flowers, and eat only the egg. Repeat this process seven times to achieve a cure.
Another prescription: Use Maogongci Gen (Root of *Pilea cadierei* or similar local herb) with the coarse skin removed to cook Ji Po Dan (Hen Egg). When the egg is nearly cooked, crack the shell slightly and continue boiling. Eat the egg while swallowing it with the decoction used for boiling. For a one-year-old child, use one egg; if more eggs are prepared, divide them into three or four doses. After more than ten days, collect eggs again and use Tongqian Cao (Marsilea quadrifolia, also known as Mantianxing) to boil and eat according to the previous method.
Yet another prescription: After Lixia (Start of Summer), harvest Jiutou Shizi Cao (Polygonum aviculare var. aviculare, also known as Wuzhao Jinlong). For male patients, pluck the herb with the left hand; for female patients, pluck it with the right hand. During the plucking... [text missing] ...then apply Shengji San (Flesh-Regulating Powder).
Appendix: Formula for Shengji San: Sheng Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) one liang (processed by levigation with Gancao water seven times), Ming Dousha (Processed Cinnabar) three qian, Yueshi (Natrii Sulfas) five qian, Ding Shang Meihua Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum from top grade) ... [text missing] ... Wu Shen (Panacis Japonici Radix? Context implies a missing herb name likely 'Renshen' or similar, but text says 'Wu Shen' which might mean 'without ginseng' or is a typo for a specific root, given context of 'no ginseng' later? Actually, looking at "无参", it likely means "Without Ginseng" or refers to a specific preparation step. However, standard Shengji San often contains Ren Shen. Let's stick to literal: "No Ginseng"). Steam and dry over rice, then grind into powder. Mu Li (Ostreae Concha) crushed with vinegar, Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus) de-hearted and steamed, each four liang. Grind into fine powder together, form pills with refined honey. Take three qian per dose, washed down with boiled water, twice daily.
This pill treats tubercles and lumps appearing around the neck, under the chin, and before/after the ears in men, women, adults, and children. They appear in chains like beads, are painless and non-itchy, or become slightly painful after ulceration, with red skin and open sores that fail to heal for a long time. For recent onset, one course achieves cure; for long-standing cases, two courses ensure complete recovery. Use genuine Xianggeng Yunai (Araceae Taro) ten jin, peel off the skin, strictly avoid roasting or stir-frying, slice with a bamboo knife, dry until extremely dry, and grind into powder. Form pills using hot water. Take three qian morning and evening, delivered with sweet wine. If alcohol is not consumed, deliver with rice gruel. Alternatively, do not grind into powder; take the dried slices directly with wine. Repeated trials show consistent efficacy; do not disregard it due to its low cost and humble ingredients. If this prescription is widely disseminated to poor people in remote villages, the merit will be immeasurable. It is also effective for treating Hou Xuan (Pharyngeal Tuberculosis/Lichen Planus of the Pharynx)!
