Half a jin (approx. 500g) of Qiai (Artemisia argyi Herba), four liang (approx. 200g) of Mingfan (Alumen), half a jin each of Lianpi (Meliae Cortex) and Baichunpi (Toosendan Fructus Cortex). Decoct the above ingredients to make a decoction for regular bathing; it is also effective.

It is effective for treating all types of Qi stagnation with nodular swelling and pain caused by wind pathogen invasion. Wu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix) five qian (approx. 20g), Shengdi Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) one liang (approx. 50g). Grind Wu Xiang into powder, and mash Shengdi Huang into paste. If the mixture is too dry, moisten it with wine, mix evenly, form into cakes according to the size of the affected area, apply to the swollen site, and iron it with a hot iron or a tin pot filled with boiling water.

It is effective for treating Luoli (scrofula), Liuzhu (multiple deep abscesses), masses, or pain and nodular swelling caused by wind-cold invading the meridians. Use Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma) ground into powder, mixed with wine. Form into cakes according to the size of the sore/toxin, apply to the affected area, and iron with a hot iron. Those not yet suppurated will resolve internally; those already suppurated will rupture spontaneously. For wind-cold-dampness-toxin, it is suitable to mix with ginger juice to form cakes.

For treating Yongju Fabei (acute suppurative infection of the back) and all kinds of malignant sores, taking it in advance prevents the toxin from penetrating inward. One jin (approx. 500g) of Zhenmayou (Semen Sesami Nigrum Oleum), boil in a silver vessel for more than ten boils. After cooling, take two bowls of wine, add five zhan (approx. 150ml) of oil, stir well, and drink hot through the mouth at once. Finish within one day; if the condition is slow, take over several days. Wu Anshi said: My family has used this for three generations without failure. I have also heard hunters say that whenever they are poisoned by an arrow, drinking sesame oil immediately eliminates the poison; it has been used many times with great effect. Note: The above formula is most suitable for cases where there is constipation and toxin accumulation inside, to unblock and clear the toxin. It is not suitable for Yin toxin syndromes or loose stools.

One jin of Huaimian (Triticum aestivum flour), plus another half jin. Mix with water to form a thick paste, roll into two thin sheets. Wrap the Huaimian inside, pinch the edges tightly to prevent leakage. Steam on the Qingming Festival. Hold with cloth strips, hang in a ventilated place to dry in the shade, store in a jar. Grind into powder according to the size of the sore, or mix with water, oil, or honey for external application. It is miraculously effective for treating various sores.

For washing various sores caused by dampness in the yin region. Shechuangzi (Cnidii Fructus) two liang (approx. 100g), Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas) one liang (approx. 50g). Each time use one liang, decoct in water for a few boils, wash the sore, wipe dry, and sprinkle with flesh-regenerating medicine.

For treating all kinds of suppurating and ulcerating Yongju with severe toxic heat, first use this medicine two or three times. Afterwards, use Jixiang San (Accumulated Fragrance Powder) or Zhu Ti Tang (Pig Trotter Decoction). Xionghuang (Realgar) one liang (approx. 50g), Baifan (Alumen) four liang (approx. 200g), Hanshuishi (Calcareum) one liang five qian (approx. 75g). Grind all together into powder. Use two or three bowls of boiling water, while hot, add one liang of the medicine powder
