Blood in sputum originates from the Lung; refer to the previous section on Cough (Ke Sou). Equal parts of Datura Flower (Kuandonghua), Lily Bulb (Baihe), and Stemona Root (Baibu) (steamed and roasted) are ground into powder, mixed with honey, and formed into pills the size of a longan fruit.
Another prescription: Take one large radish, cut off the top, hollow out half of the flesh, fill it completely with yellow millet sugar, replace the top, and roast it in fire until cooked and effective.
Blood-streaked sputum originates from the Kidney; refer to the previous section on Cough. Take 1 liang of Asparagus Root (Tiandong), and 5 qian each of Poria (Fuling), Apricot Kernel (Xingren), Fritillaria Bulb (Beimu), and Licorice Root (Gancao). Grind them together into powder, mix with refined honey, and form pills the size of a sophora seed. Take 20-30 pills per dose.

Burn Frankincense (Ruxiang) to produce smoke and fumigate the back of the patient's hand. For males, fumigate the left hand; for females, the right hand. Cover the palm with a silk cloth. After some time, if hair emerges from the palm, white hair indicates an easy-to-treat condition, red hair indicates a difficult-to-treat condition, black hair indicates an untreatable condition, and no hair indicates the absence of "Lao Chong" (tubercle bacillus/parasite).
Apply a wet paper strip to the spine. The spot where the paper dries first marks the location of the "Lao Chong." Mark this spot with ink. Apply slices of old garlic to the marked area, place a ball of Mugwort (Ai) on the garlic slice, and moxibustion should be applied. More applications are better. If garlic is unavailable, ginger can be used. Prepare a fire basin and iron tongs in advance. If the parasite emerges, immediately clamp it into the fire basin or send it far away to be buried in the soil to prevent it from flying into the mouth or nose. Caution is required.
Take 1 qian each of Realgar (Xiongjing), Cinnabar (Zhusha), and Sulfur (Liuhuang) (cleaned of sand and mud), and 1 fen of Musk (Shexiang). Grind each into extremely fine powder, store in a porcelain jar, and mix with high-quality distilled liquor... [Text fragment].
Another prescription: On the early morning of the first day of the eighth lunar month, collect dew from the tops of hundred herbs. Apply drops to the Gao Huang point (located bilaterally 3 cun lateral to the spinous process of the fourth thoracic vertebra). This is extremely effective.
This also treats Transmitted Corpse Lao (Chuan Shi Lao), a contagious chronic wasting disease resembling tuberculosis. Cat feces (white ones dried on roofs) are wrapped in yellow earth, roasted in fire until charred, taken out, covered with a bowl, cooled, and the earth removed... [Text fragment].
Noisy breathing with asthma characterizes Xiao Hou (Asthma/Wheezing).
One hour before the onset of the attack, use Balsam Apple (Fengxianhua, also known as Nail Flower) including roots and leaves. Boil to extract a thick juice. Dip the juice onto the back of a vest and rub vigorously while hot... [Text fragment]. Must endure firmly; do not remove easily. If it cools, remove the herbal paste, reheat it, and reapply. One paste can be used for two to three days. Regardless of whether the disease has cured, prepare many pastes for continuous application without interruption. For mild cases, apply for one to two days; for severe cases, apply for three to five or six days, ensuring it never recurs. Someone suffering from Xiao Hou for over forty years was cured after applying for a few days. It treats Xiao Hou caused by cold, heat, deficiency, excess, salt, sauce, vinegar, or alcohol. It is the number one miraculous formula. Do not add or subtract ingredients. It also treats Phlegm-Qi Knotting in the Chest (Tan Qi Jie Xiong) and Phlegm-Wheezing Cough (Tan Chuan Ke Sou).
Another prescription: Roast Cuttlefish Bone (Haipiaoxiao) on a tile until brittle, grind into powder. Adults take 5 qian, children take 2 qian, mix well with brown sugar, and take orally. It can cure the root cause after several doses.
