凡妊娠临产艰难者，大率由口餍甘肥，身耽安逸，既饱即卧，遂令胞胎肥浓，行动气急
，以致临盆难产。宜于胎将足月之时，时时动作，忽嗜肥鲜，勿贪坐卧，勤行勤走，此即是
不药而滑胎之妙法也。乃世医咸谓安胎之后，必须更进滑胎方，始为无弊。岂知滑胎名目，
昔人原为湖阳公主而设。盖以贵家居养丰逸，身体肥盛，诚恐躯脂凝结，胞系坚固，特借此
以稍疏其肥滞耳。若平等妇人，一母之气血，分荫其胎，尚虞不敷，岂可再用瘦胎乎。
腹中儿啼，煎黄连汁呷下。或青黛亦效。
腹中作钟鸣或哭者，用多年空房内鼠穴中土为末，或酒下，或干噙之即止。
有脏燥悲伤惨戚呕下者，大麦、甘草、大枣煎服。
有自哭自笑者，红枣烧存性，米饮下。
妊妇出痘、麻疹各方，已见卷二十一痘科门。
凡孕妇临月，择天、月二德吉日，令善书者先期斋戒三日，至日汲新水研朱于黄纸上，
焚香书曰∶东借十步，西借十步，南借十步，北借十步，上借十步，下借十步，壁方之中，
四十余步，安产借地，或有污秽，或有东海神王，或有南海神王，或有西海神王，或有北海
神王，或有日游将军，白虎夫人，远去十丈，轩辕招摇，举高十丈，天符地轴，入地十丈，
令地空闲。产妇某氏安居，无所防碍，无所畏忌，诸神拥护，百邪速去，急急如律令。书毕
，贴孕妇墙壁上，则不须避忌矣。
凡是妊娠临产困难的情况，大都是因为平时饮食过于甘甜肥腻，生活贪图安逸，吃饱了就躺下休息，导致胞胎变得肥厚浓重，行动时气息急促，从而造成临盆时难产。适宜在胎儿即将足月的时候，经常活动身体，克制对肥美食物的嗜好，不要贪恋坐卧，多行走走动，这就是不用药物而能顺利滑胎的妙法。然而当时的医生都认为安胎之后，必须再服用滑胎方剂，才算是没有弊端。哪里知道“滑胎”这个名目，是古人专门为湖阳公主设立的。大概是因为贵族人家居住养尊处优，身体肥胖壮实，确实担心体内脂肪凝结，胞系坚固，特意借此方药来稍微疏通其肥滞之气罢了。如果是普通平民妇女，母亲的气血分荫滋养胎儿，尚且担心不够用，怎么可以再使用瘦胎（耗气）的药呢？
胎儿在腹中啼哭，煎黄连汁含服咽下。或者使用青黛也有效。
胎儿在腹中发出像钟声一样的鸣响或哭泣声，使用多年空房内老鼠洞中的泥土研成粉末，或者用酒送服，或者直接干含在口中即可停止。
有因脏燥症而悲伤凄惨、呕吐下血的，用大麦、甘草、大枣煎汤服用。
有出现自哭自笑症状的，将红枣烧至存性（保留部分焦黑），用米汤送服。
孕妇出痘疮、麻疹的各种方剂，已经见于本书卷二十一痘科门。
凡是孕妇临近预产期，选择天德、月德两个吉日，让擅长书法的人提前三天斋戒沐浴，到了那天汲取新水研磨朱砂在黄纸上，焚香书写道：“向东借十步，向西借十步，向南借十步，向北借十步，向上借十步，向下借十步，墙壁方形区域之中，四十余步，安产借地，如果有污秽之物，或者有东海神王，或者有南海神王，或者有西海神王，或者有北海神王，或者有日游将军，白虎夫人，请远离十丈；轩辕招摇星神，请升高十丈；天符地轴，请深入地下十丈，令土地空闲。产妇某氏安居生产，没有妨碍，没有忌讳，诸神拥护，百邪迅速离去，急急如律令。”写完后，贴在孕妇的墙壁上，就不需要避忌了。
In cases where labor is difficult during pregnancy, it is generally due to a diet rich in sweet and fatty foods, a lifestyle indulging in comfort and ease, and lying down immediately after eating. This leads to the fetus becoming overly plump and heavy, causing shortness of breath upon movement, thereby resulting in dystocia (difficult childbirth) at term. It is advisable to engage in frequent physical activity when the fetus is nearing full term, to curb cravings for rich and fresh foods, to avoid excessive sitting or lying down, and to walk diligently. This constitutes an excellent method for facilitating smooth delivery without medication. However, contemporary physicians all believe that after administering fetal-securing prescriptions, one must further administer fetal-slipping prescriptions to ensure no defects. Little do they know that the term "fetal-slipping" was originally devised by ancients for Princess Huyang. This was because nobles lived in luxury and ease, with obese bodies, and there was genuine concern that accumulated body fat might congeal and make the uterine membranes firm; thus, this prescription was used merely to slightly alleviate such stagnation caused by excess. If we consider ordinary women, whose maternal Qi and Blood are already divided to nourish the fetus, often worrying about insufficiency, how can one use fetal-thinning [Qi-consuming] herbs?
For fetal crying within the abdomen, decoct Rhizoma Coptidis (Huanglian, 黄连) juice and sip/swallow it. Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, 青黛) is also effective.
For fetal sounds resembling bell ringing or crying within the abdomen, use soil from rat holes in long-abandoned empty houses, grind into powder, and either take with wine or hold dry in the mouth to stop the symptoms.
For cases of Zang Dryness (Zang Zao, 脏燥) manifesting as profound sadness, grief, vomiting, and bleeding, decoct Hordeum Vulgare Fructus (Damai, 大麦), Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Gancao, 甘草), and Fructus Jujubae (Dazao, 大枣) for oral administration.
For spontaneous crying and laughing, roast Ziziphus Jujuba Mill. var. spinosa (Hongzao, 红枣) until charred but retaining internal properties (Cinnabaris Vegetabilis-like state), and administer with Rice Decoction (Miyin, 米饮).
Various prescriptions for pregnant women suffering from smallpox or measles are already recorded in Volume 21, Department of Smallpox Diseases.
Whenever a pregnant woman approaches her term, select auspicious days blessed by Tiande (Heavenly Virtue) and Yuede (Monthly Virtue). Have a skilled calligrapher observe a three-day fast and purification beforehand. On the day, draw fresh water, grind cinnabar on yellow paper, burn incense, and write: "Borrow ten steps East, borrow ten steps West, borrow ten steps South, borrow ten steps North, borrow ten steps Up, borrow ten steps Down. Within the square area of the wall, forty-plus steps, borrow land for safe delivery. If there be filth, or if there be the Divine King of the East Sea, or the Divine King of the South Sea, or the Divine King of the West Sea, or the Divine King of the North Sea, or the Day-Wandering General, Lady Baihu (White Tiger), please depart ten zhang away; Xuan Yuan and Zha Yao stars, please rise ten zhang high; Tian Fu and Di Zhou, please enter ten zhang underground, making the earth vacant. Let the parturient woman, Surname [Name], reside safely in childbirth, without obstruction, without taboo, protected by all deities, let all evils depart swiftly. Urgently as the law commands." After writing, paste it on the wall near the pregnant woman, and no taboos need be avoided.
