小儿出痘，有名赤斑核者，形如瘰 ，发无定处，多在活肉筋骨间，则周身之痘皆不发
起，尽归于瘰 一处，危症也。治法∶将瘰 用手撮起，以红绳紧紧扎住，然后用独蒜瓣贴
于患处，艾灸七次，务将瘰 灸至不如痛痒，除其艾蒜，庶痘可发生，通身红活矣。此即痘
疔之类，照痘疔各方治之亦可。
痘出一半忽然不语昏迷不省人事手足冰冷目开面青唇白气息俱凉
此厥阴症也。用雄鸡一只，生剖开去肠杂，以烧酒喷鸡肚内，敷脐上，用布扎紧，约一
炷香久取出，连换数鸡，其痘乃齐，其人自愈，其效如神。
热症方形虚症又现元气本来虚弱而毒瓦斯猛烈以致痘出不快
此症解毒既恐伤元，扶元又恐助热，颇难用药，照上方，用敷脐上，屡用如神，万无一
失。
顶好热烧酒，用绸蘸酒乘热熨之，其痘自出，屡试皆验。如不见效，即照前方用鸡敷脐
之法，无不效也。
凡痘不起浆，或浆起复收。急取癞虾蟆一个，用手捉住，将虾蟆头对住小儿之口（用绸
将小儿眼遮住以免虾蟆吐浆入内），离二三寸远，约一顿饭久放去。加换一个，仍向儿口对
之，连换三次，其毒已被虾蟆吸尽，即灌浆收功。此法起死回生，神效之至。
又方∶顶好热烧酒，用绸帕蘸透，时时熨之，轻者此法最妙。
将铜绿、雄黄、朱砂、银朱、人中白，共同研磨均匀后撒敷在患处。
小儿出痘（天花），有一种称为“赤斑核”的情况，形状像瘰疬（颈部淋巴结结核），发病位置不固定，多发生在肌肉筋骨之间，导致全身其他部位的痘疹都无法发出，全部聚集在瘰疬一处，这是危重病症。治疗方法：用手捏起瘰疬部位，用红绳紧紧扎住根部，然后将独头蒜瓣贴敷在患处，进行艾灸七次，务必将瘰疬灸至没有痛痒感为止，除去艾草和蒜瓣，这样痘疹才能发出，全身痘色转为红润鲜活。这属于痘疔（生于痘疹中的毒疔）一类，按照治疗痘疔的各种方剂处理也可以。
痘疹发出一半时，突然失语、昏迷、不省人事，手足冰冷，眼睛睁开，面色青紫，嘴唇苍白，气息俱凉，这是厥阴症（病邪深入厥阴经所致的重症）。取一只雄鸡，活体剖开去除内脏，用烧酒喷洒鸡肚内部，敷贴在患儿肚脐上，用布扎紧，约燃烧一炷香的时间后取出，连续更换几只鸡，直到痘疹出齐，病人自然痊愈，效果神奇。
如果是热证刚形成而虚证又显现，或者元气本来虚弱而毒火猛烈，导致痘疹出不快，这种病症在解毒时担心损伤元气，扶助元气时又担心助长热势，用药颇为困难，参照上方，用药物敷贴肚脐，多次使用效果神奇，万无一失。
取最好的热烧酒，用丝绸蘸取热酒趁热熨烫患处，痘疹自然会发出，多次试验都有效。如果不见效，就照前文用鸡敷贴肚脐的方法，没有不有效的。
凡是痘疹不起浆（脓疱期未充盈），或浆液已起又重新收干。急忙取癞蛤蟆一个，用手捉住，将蛤蟆头对着患儿的嘴（用丝绸遮住患儿的眼睛，以免蛤蟆吐浆进入眼中），距离二三寸远，约吃一顿饭的时间后放开。再换一个，仍然对着孩子的嘴，连续更换三次，体内的毒素已被蛤蟆吸尽，痘疹即可灌浆收功。此法能起死回生，神效至极。
另一个方子：取最好的热烧酒，用丝绸帕子浸透，时时熨烫患处，轻症用此法最为巧妙。
Grind copper verdigris (Malachite), realgar, cinnabar, silver vermilion, and human excrement ash together into a fine powder and sprinkle it on the affected area.
In children suffering from smallpox (Variola), there is a condition known as "red spot core" (Chi Ban He). Its shape resembles scrofula (tuberculous lymphadenitis of the neck), appears at unpredictable locations, and mostly occurs between muscles and bones. Consequently, the pox all over the body fail to erupt, gathering entirely in one spot of scrofula; this is a critical condition. The treatment method is: pinch up the scrofula with your hand, tie it tightly with a red string, then apply a clove of single-clove garlic to the lesion. Perform moxibustion seven times, ensuring the moxibustion continues until the scrofula feels no pain or itching. Remove the mugwort and garlic; only then will the pox erupt, turning the whole body red and vibrant. This belongs to the category of "pox ding" (toxic carbuncle arising within pox eruptions) and can be treated according to various formulas for pox ding.
When the pox have erupted halfway but the patient suddenly loses speech, falls into a coma, becomes unconscious, has cold hands and feet, open eyes, cyanotic complexion, white lips, and cold breath, this is Jueyin Syndrome (a severe syndrome involving the Jueyin meridians). Take one rooster, slaughter it alive, remove the internal organs, spray rice wine inside the chicken's cavity, and apply it to the patient's navel. Tie it tightly with cloth. After about the time it takes for one incense stick to burn, remove it. Replace with several chickens consecutively. Once the pox are fully erupted, the patient will recover naturally. The efficacy is miraculous.
If heat syndromes are just forming while deficiency syndromes also appear, or if the primordial Qi is originally weak while the toxic fire is fierce, causing the pox to erupt slowly, treating this syndrome is difficult. One fears that detoxification will damage the Yuan Qi (Primordial Qi), while tonifying the Yuan Qi may aggravate the heat. Refer to the above formula and apply it to the navel. Repeated use yields miraculous results with no risk of failure.
Take high-quality hot rice wine, dip silk fabric in it, and while hot, apply warm compresses to the affected area. The pox will naturally erupt; this has been tested repeatedly with success. If there is no effect, use the method of applying a chicken to the navel as described previously, which will invariably be effective.
For cases where pox fail to fill with pus (plague stage) or where the pus fills but then retracts, urgently take one toad. Hold it firmly, position its head facing the child's mouth (cover the child's eyes with silk to prevent the toad's secretions from entering the eyes), at a distance of two or three inches, for about the duration of a meal. Then release it. Replace with another, still facing the child's mouth. Repeat this three times. The toxins will have been absorbed by the toads, and the pox will proceed to fill with pus and complete the healing process. This method can revive the dead and is extremely efficacious.
Another prescription: Use high-quality hot rice wine, soak a silk cloth thoroughly, and apply frequent warm compresses. This method is most suitable for mild cases.
