When epistaxis (nosebleed) occurs with blood that does not coagulate and flows continuously, points from the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Channel (disease syndrome caused by pathogenic invasion of the Taiyang channel of the foot) should be selected; if accompanied by ear symptoms, points from the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel (disease syndrome caused by pathogenic invasion of the Taiyang channel of the hand) should be selected; if treatment is ineffective, puncture below the Wangu point; if still ineffective, puncture the Xi-Zhong point to induce bleeding.
("Nü" refers to nosebleed, "blood" refers to blood coagulation. The pronunciation of "nü" is given by the fanqie method as Pu-Bei. Blood failing to coagulate indicates extreme heat. The Foot-Taiyang Bladder Channel originates at the nose, and the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel reaches the inner canthus of the eye; both pass through the nasal region, hence these channels are selected for nosebleed. Wangu is the name of the bone protruding anteriorly at the wrist, known as Wanggu, and does not refer to the wrist joint itself. [Ping An]: Below the Foot-Taiyang section, *Jia Yi Jing* has the characters "Da Nü" (severe nosebleed). For selecting the Hand-Taiyang channel, *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing* read "select Hand-Taiyang for bloody nose".)

When one experiences emotional fluctuations of anger and joy but loses appetite, and speech becomes increasingly weak, needle the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Channel (disease syndrome caused by pathogenic invasion of the Taiyin channel of the foot); when angry and speaking excessively, needle the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel (disease syndrome caused by pathogenic invasion of the Shaoyang channel of the foot). (Anger belongs to Liver Wood, eating belongs to Spleen Earth. Currently, Wood overacts on Earth, so anger leads to loss of appetite; it is appropriate to tonify the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Channel. The Liver corresponds to the Foot-Jueyin Liver Channel and governs anger. The Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel governs excessive speech. Therefore, reduce the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel. [Ping An]: Foot-Shaoyang channel, *Jia Yi Jing* reads Shaoyin channel, with a note stating: *Tai Su* reads Shaoyang channel.)

Yellow Emperor said: There is a person whose Cun-Cun pulse (pulse felt at the cubital fossa) beats very vigorously, with tendons becoming tense and visible externally. What disease is this? Qibo said: This is called Zhen Jin (skin rash involving tendons). The abdomen will necessarily become tight. If the complexion is white or black, the disease is severe. (Vigorous Cun-Cun pulse with tense and visible tendons indicates Zhen Jin. Zhen Jin manifests as tendon tension and abdominal tightness; this must be due to Metal and Water qi attacking Liver Wood, hence the condition worsens when the complexion is white or black. Some editions interpret "Chi Shou" as thinning of the skin at the cubital fossa. [Ping An]: *Su Wen* adds the character "Mai" (pulse) after "Chi". *Jia Yi Jing* reads "Chi Shu Shen" as "Chi Fu Huan Shen" (extreme laxity of skin at the cubital fossa), noting: alternatively "Shou Shen" (extreme thinness). Zhen Jin, *Jia Yi Jing* reads "Hu Jin, Hu Jin Zhe", noting: "Hu" in *Su Wen* is written as "Zhen". *Su Wen* and *Jia Yi Jing* add the character "Ren" (person) before "Fu" (abdomen), and add "Xian" (appear) after "Hei Se" (black color).)
