须属肾，禀水气，故下生也；发属心，禀火气，故上生也。
中山还童酒 人间处处有，善缘得遇者，便是蓬莱叟。马蔺花一升，土埋三日，取出马蔺根，洗切片一升；
用黄米二斗水煮成糜，陈曲二块为末；酒酵子二碗并前马蔺子共和一处，做酒待熟；另用马蔺子并根一升，用
水煮十沸，入酒内三日。每日搅匀，去根，随量饮醉。酒饮尽，其须发尽黑。其酒之色如漆之黑。
乌须酒方
黄米（三斗） 淮曲（十块） 麦门冬（去心，八两） 天门冬（去心，二两） 人参（去芦，一两）
生地（四两） 熟地（二两） 枸杞子（二两） 何首乌（四两） 牛膝（去芦，一两） 当归（二两）
上各为末，和入曲糜内封缸，待酒熟，照常榨出。每日清晨饮三杯。忌白酒、萝卜、葱、蒜。
经验乌须方 能变白为黑，身轻体健，其功不能尽述。
每年冬十月壬癸日，面东采摘红肥大枸杞十二升捣破，同好无灰细酒二斤，同盛于瓷瓶内浸二十一日足开
封，添生地黄汁三升搅匀，却以纸三层封其口。俱至立春前三十日开瓶，空心热饮一杯。至立春后，髭须都黑。
勿食芜菁葱蒜。服之见效。若年年服之，耐老身轻无比也。
五老还童丹 堪嗟须鬓白如霜，要黑原来有异方；不用擦牙并染发，都来五味配阴阳；赤石脂与川椒
炒，辰砂一味最为良；茯神能养心中血，乳香分量要相当；枣肉为丸梧子大，空心温酒十五双，十服之后君休
摘，管教华发黑如光；兼能明目并延寿，老翁变作少年郎。
上方合一料，每味各一两为末，煮红枣去皮核，用肉为丸，空心酒下。
旱莲丸

外染乌云膏
五倍子（炒黑，一钱） 铜末（醋炒五次） 白矾（生研） 盐（各三分，研）
上各匀，用煎酽茶汁和成稀糊，重汤煮数沸，再入烧酒少许。先将皂角水洗净须鬓，然后涂药，包裹一夜
甚效。次早以茶汁轻轻洗去药，其黑如漆。连染三夜，以后或十日、半月染一次。
乌须方

梳头方
百药煎 诃子 针砂（各一钱） 石榴皮 核桃青皮 垂杨柳叶 白矾（各一钱）
上共为细末，先用盐、醋、茶熬水二大碗，将药同入瓶内封十日。梳发染须通黑，油核桃油润之明净。
乌须秘方 用香油一瓶；油核桃二三十个，去壳取肉；古铜钱一二十个；浸油内，埋土二尺深，一周
年足取出，搽须鬓上即黑。
一儒者，因饮食劳役及恼怒，眉发脱落。余以为劳伤精血，阴火上炎所致。用补中益气加麦门、五味，及
六味地黄丸加五味，眉发顿生如故。
一男子，年二十，顶发脱尽。用六味地黄丸不数日，发生寸许，两月复旧。（以上方俱见补益。）

Zhongshan Huantong Jiu (Zhongshan Rejuvenation Wine): It is everywhere in the world; those who encounter it through good karma are like the old men of Penglai Island. Ma Lin Hua (Iris lactea flower) one sheng, buried in soil for three days, then taken out; the Ma Lin root is washed and sliced into one sheng; cook two dou of yellow millet into a porridge, crush two blocks of aged Qu (fermented starter) into powder; mix two bowls of yeast with the aforementioned Ma Lin seeds together to brew wine until ripe; additionally, use one sheng of Ma Lin seeds and roots, boil in water for ten boils, add to the wine and soak for three days. Stir evenly every day, remove the roots, drink according to capacity until intoxicated. After finishing the wine, the beard and hair will turn completely black. The color of this wine is as black as lacquer.
Wuxu Jiu Formula (Black Beard Wine Formula):
Huang Mi (Yellow Millet, three dou) Huai Qu (Ten blocks) Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber, dehearted, eight liang) Tiandong (Asparagus Tuber, dehearted, two liang) Renshen (Ginseng Root, de-rhizome, one liang)
Shengdi (Rehmannia Root, four liang) Shudi (Prepared Rehmannia Root, two liang) Gouqizi (Goji Berry, two liang) Heshouwu (Polygonum Multiflorum Root, four liang) Niuxi (Achyranthes Root, de-rhizome, one liang) Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root, two liang)
Grind each ingredient into powder, mix into the Qu porridge, seal in a jar, wait for the wine to ferment, then press as usual. Drink three cups every early morning. Avoid Baijiu (white liquor), radish, scallion, and garlic.
Experience Wuxu Formula: Can change white hair to black, making the body light and healthy; its merits cannot be fully described.
On Ren and Gui days in the tenth lunar month, face east to pick twelve sheng of red and plump Goji berries, crush them, and soak them in two jin of good, ash-free fine wine in a porcelain bottle for twenty-one days. Upon opening, add three sheng of Shengdi juice, stir well, and seal the mouth with three layers of paper. Open the bottle thirty days before Lichun (Start of Spring). Drink one cup hot on an empty stomach. After Lichun, the mustache and beard will all turn black. Do not eat turnip greens, scallions, or garlic. Effective upon consumption. If taken annually, it prevents aging and makes the body incredibly light.
Wulao Huantong Dan (Five Elders Rejuvenation Pill): Alas, the beard and temples are white as frost; to make them black, there is indeed a special formula; no need to brush teeth or dye hair, combine five flavors to balance Yin and Yang; Chishi Zhi (Red Halloysite) fried with Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper); Chen Sha (Cinnabar) is the best single herb; Fushen (Poria with Hostwood) nourishes Heart blood; Xiangru (Frankincense) dosage must be appropriate; form pills with jujube flesh the size of Sophora seeds; take fifteen pairs (thirty pills) warm with wine on an empty stomach; after ten doses, do not stop, guaranteeing dark, shiny black hair; also brightens eyes and prolongs life, turning old men into youths.
For the above formula combined, take one liang of each ingredient, grind into powder, boil red dates, remove skin and pits, use the flesh to form pills, take with wine on an empty stomach.
Hanlian Wan (Eclipta Pill):
Hanlian Zhi (Eclipta Juice, dried to half a jin) Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger, juice extracted and dried to half a jin) Shengdihuang (Fresh Rehmannia Root, soaked in wine, juice extracted and dried to half a jin) Xixin (Asarum, one liang)
Pogu Zhi (Psoralea Fruit, one jin, stir-fried with flour) Duzhong (Eucommia Bark, half a jin, stir-fried) Wujiapi (Acanthopanacis Cortex, soaked in wine, half a jin) Chi Fuling (Red Poria, peeled, sliced, soaked in milk, half a jin)

Peng Zhenren Huan Shou Dan (Immortal Peng Longevity Reversal Pill): Nourishes Heart, generates blood, tonifies Kidney, strengthens Yang, blackens beard and hair, moistens skin, reverses aging, prolongs life, and aids conception.

Heshouwu (Polygonum Multiflorum Root, melon-seed shape, without flowers, both red and white varieties crushed, boiled in black soybean water, nine steams and nine sun-dries, then soaked in human milk, permeated, dried, four liang.)
Grind the above twenty-six ingredients into powder, refine honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take seventy pills per dose, on an empty stomach, delivered with salt water or wine. Another prescription adds Shan Zhu Yu (Cornus Fruit), Gouqizi (Goji Berry), Tusizi (Dodder Seed), Shanyao (Dioscorea Rhizome), and Baiziren (Biota Seed), one liang each, which is especially effective.
Wuxu Huan Shao Dan (Black Beard Youth Reversal Pill):
Tousheng Tongzi Fa (Hair from a first-born boy, four liang, boiled in wine into paste) Chuanwu (Aconitum Carmichaelii Root) Heshouwu (Polygonum Multiflorum Root) Caowu (Aconitum Kusnezoffii Root) Ganqi (Dried Lacquer)

Grind the above nine ingredients into fine powder, mix evenly with the boy's hair paste, place in a Yangcheng jar, seal tightly, burn with mulberry fire until the jar turns red, bury in a shady place for seven days, then take out for use.

Grind into fine powder, combine with the previous medicines. Take one qian per dose, delivered with good wine. After one hundred days, beard and hair will be black as lacquer, face like a child's; thereafter, take once every three or seven days. Long-term consumption yields indescribable benefits.
Jiawei Babao Dan (Modified Eight-Treasure Pill, transmitted by Li Cangxi):
Hanlian Gao (Eclipta Paste, four liang) Heshouwu (Polygonum Multiflorum Root, half a jin, raw) Meishizi (Chebulic Myrobalan, four liang) Tiandong (Asparagus Tuber, dehearted and pounded into paste, four liang) Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber, dehearted and pounded into paste, four liang)
Lianxin (Lotus Plumule, two liang) Maziren (Hemp Seed, stir-fried on new tile until fragrant, four liang) Hutao Ren (Walnut Kernel, four liang, peeled) Yupiao (Cuttlebone, four liang, cut and stir-fried until pearl-like in pot)
Xian Shengdihuang (Fresh Rehmannia Root, half a jin, pounded into juice) Shudihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root, four liang, pounded into mud) Huaiaodou (Sophora Pod, four liang, soaked in black ox bile, dried on tile)
Grind into fine powder, refine honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take seventy to eighty pills per dose, on an empty stomach, dissolved in salt water and yellow wine.
Wairan Wuyun Gao (External Dye Black Cloud Ointment):
Wubeizi (Chinese Gall, stir-fried until black, one qian) Tongmo (Copper Powder, stir-fried five times with vinegar) Baifan (Alum, raw ground) Yan (Salt, each three fen, ground)
Mix evenly, blend with strong tea decoction into a thin paste, boil in double boiler for several boils, add a little burning wine. First wash beard and temples with soap pod water, then apply medicine, wrap overnight for great effect. Next morning, gently wash off with tea juice; it will be black as lacquer. Continue dyeing for three nights, then once every ten days or half a month.
Wuxu Formula:
Guanfen (Lead Carbonate, one liang two qian half) Baifan (Alum, three qian) Shuiyin (Mercury, one qian, first melt one qian of black lead, then mix with mercury and grind finely) Zhangnao (Borneol, two fen)
Shexiang (Musk, one fen) Baicaoshuang (Soot from kitchen chimney, eight fen) Qingfen (Calomel, three fen) Duanshi (Calcined Earth, two qian)
Grind the above eight ingredients into fine powder, mix with salty water, boil, apply to beard, wash off after burning half an incense stick.
Jinmao Shizi Daoshangshu, Wuxu Nian Yao Fang (Golden Mane Lion Upside-Down Tree, Black Beard Pinching Medicine Formula): Use one qian of finely sieved tin ash powder,
add one qian of mercury, grind until stars disappear. Cut the top off one sour pomegranate, mix pulp and seeds evenly, add the previous powder and mix well; seal with the original top, wrap tightly with paper, within three to seven days it will all become juice; wrap finger in bladder skin, pinch with the juice. Before pinching, wash and dry beard and hair thoroughly.
Caya Wuxu Fang (Teeth Brushing Black Beard Formula):
Qingyan (Green Salt, one liang) Meishizi (Chebulic Myrobalan, one qian) Xixin (Asarum, two qian) Poguzhi (Psoralea Fruit, one liang, stir-fried until aromatic) Digupi (Phellodendri Cortex, one liang) Shudihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root, one liang, soaked in wine for three days, dried in clay pot and ground)
Huaijiaozi (Sophora Seed, one liang) Baiyaojian (Betel Nut Decoction, one qian)
Grind all into fine powder, total eight ingredients. Brush teeth every morning, swallow the medicine. Must last one month, do not miss a day. Daily brushing is unrestricted. Pluck white beard and hair daily each month; regrowth will surely be black, never white again. Also brightens eyes and strengthens teeth. Divine efficacy. Baiyaojian (Betel Nut Decoction) Hezi (Chebula Fruit) Zhensha (Needle Sand, each one qian) Shiliupi (Pomegranate Peel) Hetao Qingpi (Green Walnut Shell) Chuiliuyang Ye (Weeping Willow Leaf) Baifan (Alum, each one qian)
Grind all into fine powder, first boil two large bowls of water with salt, vinegar, and tea, put medicine into bottle and seal for ten days. Combs hair and dyes beard completely black; moisturize with walnut oil for brightness and cleanliness.
Wuxu Mifang (Black Beard Secret Recipe): Use one bottle of sesame oil; twenty to thirty oil walnuts, shell removed, meat taken; ten to twenty ancient copper coins; soak in oil, bury in soil two chi deep, after one year take out, rub on beard and temples to turn black.
