人参定喘汤
治肺气喘，喉中有声，坐卧不安，胸膈紧满。及治肺感寒邪，咳嗽声重。
人参（去芦，一两） 罂粟壳（蜜炙，二两） 麻黄（去芦） 半夏曲 甘草（炙。各

上锉散。每服三钱，水一盏，姜三片。煎至七分，食后温服。
九宝汤
治经年咳嗽，通用。常服屡效。

上锉散。治喘嗽每遇饮酒必发，生姜、桑白皮煎服，效。
水煮木香丸
治喘急泄泻，加官桂、生姜煎服。（方见下痢类。）
神保丸
治久喘，胸膈满闷，饮食不进。每服七丸，生姜、柿蒂汤下。（方见诸气类。）
玉液散
治久近喘嗽，口干作渴。
栝蒌根 知母 贝母（去心，炒。各一两） 甘草（炙，半两） 人参（半两）
上为末。每服二钱，先熔下黄蜡二钱。同入米饮调下，食后服。
神应丹
治肺气喘急，晨夕不得睡，不问久新，一服见效。
砒石（一两） 绿豆（六两）
上二味同煮，以豆烂为度，取出砒石，入黄丹一两同研烂。用纸做卷五七重，如豆筒，

又名防己丸。大治肺气咳嗽，面浮目肿，喘促，睡卧不得，步履艰难，小便赤涩等
汉防己
贝母（煨令微黄） 木通（各一两） 甜葶苈（隔纸炒令紫色） 杏仁（去皮尖及双仁，
上为末，枣肉为丸如梧子大。每服三十丸，煎桑白皮汤下，不拘时候。
炙肝散
治喘并痰嗽，两服病不复作。
白矾（飞过研） 五倍子（为末）
上每服各一钱，以生猪肝火上炙熟蘸药，食后临卧服。
人参清肺汤
治喘急噎塞，加桔梗、款冬花。（方见咳嗽类。）
清膈散
治喘嗽吐唾不利，膈热，口中苦气。
南星（一两） 铅白霜（少许） 桑白皮（一两半） 白附子（五钱）
上锉散，生姜三片煎，食后临睡服。
灸法∶
肺俞各十一壮，穴在第三椎下两旁各去一寸五分。天突穴在颈结喉下五寸宛宛中，灸
壮，立效。

杏参饮

秘传降气汤
治疗气机不升降，上热下冷，导致作喘。生姜、紫苏叶同煎，就着服用玉华白丹，有效。（方剂见玉华白丹，玉华白丹方见痼冷类。）
加味白术散

以上两味药同煮，以豆子烂熟为度，取出砒石，加入黄丹一两同研烂。用纸做卷五七重，如豆筒，又入黄丹
胡桃汤
治疗痰喘
胡桃肉（三个） 生姜（三片）
以上临睡前吃完后，喝汤三两口，再咀嚼，像前面那样喝汤，躺枕即安。

Ren Shen Ding Chuan Tang (Ginseng Asthma-Calming Decoction)
Treats lung asthma with panting, phlegm-rattling sounds in the throat, restlessness in sitting and lying positions, and tightness/fullness in the chest and diaphragm. Also treats lung cold-evil invasion causing cough with heavy voice.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, remove rhizome, 1 liang) Ying Su Ke (Papaveris Pericarpium, honey-fried, 2 liang) Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba, remove roots and stems) Ban Xia Qu (Pinelliae Fermentatum) Gan Cao (Licorice Root, fried. Each 1 liang) Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex)
Crush all into a powder. Take 3 qian per dose, add 1 zhan of water and 3 slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). Decoct to 7/10 volume, take warm after meals.
Jiu Bao Tang (Nine-Treasure Decoction)
Treats chronic cough lasting years; general use. Frequent administration yields repeated efficacy.
Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba, remove joints) Ju Hong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum) Bo He (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba. Each 1 liang) La Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus) Zi Su (Perillae Folium) Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex, stir-fried) Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, remove skin and tips) Da Fu Zi (Arecae Pericarpium, with peel)
Crush all into a powder. Take 3 qian per dose, add 5 slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), 1 Wu Mei (Mume Fructus), and 1.5 zhan of water. Decoct together, take after meals before bedtime. Alternatively, add 0.5 zhan of Tong Zi Xiao Bian (Child's Urine).
Xing Shen Yin (Apricot and Ginseng Drink)
Treats sudden panting and restlessness due to falling/fright, or wading through water and stumbling, extreme physical exhaustion.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex) Ju Hong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum) Da Fu Pi (Arecae Pericarpium) Bing Lang (Arecae Semen) Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) He Zi (Chebulae Fructus, wrapped in flour and baked, use flesh) Ban Xia (Pinelliae Tuber, soaked in hot water seven times) Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex)
Equal parts, crush into powder. Take 4 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, 5 slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), 7 leaves of Zi Su (Perillae Folium). Decoct to 7/10 volume. Remove dregs, take warm, at any time.
Fen Xin Qi Yin (Dividing Heart-Energy Drink)
Treats rebellious qi, submerged pulse, syncope with panting. (Formula see Category of Various Qi.)
Mi Chuan Jiang Qi Tang (Secretly Transmitted Qi-Descending Decoction)
Treats failure of qi ascending and descending, upper heat and lower cold causing panting. Decoct with Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Zi Su Ye (Perillae Folium), take along with Yu Hua Bai Dan (Jade Flower White Pill), effective. Jia Wei Bai Zhu San (Modified Atractylodes Powder)
Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) Ban Xia (Pinelliae Tuber) Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) Bai Fu Ling (Poria) Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) Gan Cao (Licorice Root, fried) Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, processed. Each 2 liang) Bai Bian Dou (Lablab Seed, prepared, 1.5 liang)
Crush all into powder. For treating panting and cough triggered by alcohol consumption, decoct with Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex), effective.
Shui Zhu Mu Xiang Wan (Water-Boiled Aquilaria Pill)
Treats urgent panting with diarrhea. Add Guan Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus) and Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) for decoction. (Formula see Category of Dysentery.)
Shen Bao Wan (Divine Protection Pill)
Treats chronic panting, chest/diaphragm fullness/stuffiness, loss of appetite. Take 7 pills per dose, swallow with Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Shi Di (Diospyri Fructus) soup. (Formula see Category of Various Qi.)
Yu Ye San (Jade Fluid Powder)
Treats recent or chronic panting/cough, dry mouth with thirst. Gua Lou Gen (Trichosanthis Radix) Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus, remove heart, stir-fried. Each 1 liang) Gan Cao (Licorice Root, fried, 0.5 liang) Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 liang)
Grind into powder. Take 2 qian per dose, first melt 2 qian of Huang La (Beeswax). Mix with Mi Yin (Rice Drink), take after meals.
Shen Ying Dan (Divine Response Pill)
Treats lung asthma with urgency, inability to sleep day and night, regardless of duration. One dose shows effect.
Pi Shi (Realgar) Lv Dou (Vigna Radiata Seed)
Boil these two ingredients together until beans are soft. Remove Pi Shi (Realgar), mix with 1 liang of Huang Dan (Lithargyrum) and grind until smooth. Roll in paper five to seven layers, like a bean pod, then insert Huang Dan (Lithargyrum)...
Hu Tao Tang (Walnut Soup)
Treats phlegm-panting.
Hu Tao Rou (Juglandis Semen) Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens)
After finishing dinner before bed, drink three sips of soup, chew again, drink soup as before, lie on pillow and feel relieved.
Ting Li Wan (Descurainia Pill)
Also known as Fang Ji Wan. Greatly treats lung qi cough, facial edema, eye swelling, panting, inability to sleep, difficulty walking, red and scanty urination, etc.
Han Fang Ji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus, baked until slightly yellow) Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis. Each 1 liang) Tian Ting Li (Descurainiae Semen) Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, remove skin, tips, and double kernels)
Grind into powder, bind with Jujube Flesh into pills the size of Wuzi (Symplocos seed). Take 30 pills per dose, swallow with Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex) decoction, at any time.
Zhi Gan San (Roasted Liver Powder)
Treats panting and phlegm-cough; disease does not recur after two doses.
Bai Fan (Alumen) Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis, ground into powder)
Take 1 qian of each per dose. Roast raw pig liver over fire until cooked, dip in medicine, take after meals before bedtime.
Ren Shen Qing Fei Tang (Ginseng Lung-Clearing Decoction)
Treats urgent panting with choking sensation. Add Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix) and Kuan Dong Hua (Farfarae Flos). (Formula see Cough Category.)
Qing Ge San (Clear Diaphragm Powder)
Treats panting/cough with difficult expectoration, diaphragmatic heat, bitter taste in mouth.
Nan Xing (Arisaematis Rhizoma Preparatum, 1 liang) Qian Bai Shuang (Plumbici Subcarbonas, small amount) Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex, 1.5 liang) Bai Fu Zi (Typhonii Rhizoma, 5 qian)
Crush into powder, decoct with 3 slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), take after meals before sleep.
Moxibustion Method:
Fei Shu (BL13) moxa 11 cones on each side. Acupoint is located 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the third thoracic vertebra. Tian Tu (CV22) acupoint is located in the depression 5 cun below the laryngeal prominence of the neck. Moxa [number] cones, immediate effect.
