治风热积毒聚成，发于头面手足，热者如胭脂色，其热如火，轻轻着手，痛不可忍，加
紫草煎，与犀角消毒饮相间服。赤瘅、火瘅、紫萍瘅并治。壮热烦渴甚，加黄芩、麦门冬去
心、朴硝各半钱。（方见后疮肿科诸疮类。）
红内硝 当归 茄片 甘草节 羌活 黄芩（各半两） 麝香（半钱）
上为末。每服一钱，茄蒂煎汤调成，或生地黄亦可。
治瘅毒初发如白梅样，游走遍体，躁闷，腹胀，焦啼。每服二钱，水一盏，生姜二
紫草少许煎，温服。（方见大方科伤寒类。）
平血饮与败毒散合和，生姜、薄荷、蝉蜕去足翼，防风去芦细切煎。渴，加天花粉少许。
又方 角瘅游走不定， 然赤肿疼痛，用药角，归手足上为妙。后取碎∶
寒水石 石膏 黄连 黄柏（各一两）
上为末，水调刷。
又方 青黛、土朱为末，井水调，入蜜敷角亦可。
又方 黄丹不拘多少，磨刀水调刷。
又方 瘅毒肿痛如火，用大黄，朴硝为末，调涂肿处，立效。水苔、生地黄、菘菜、浮
萍、
用防风、酸车草、赤豆、灶心土煎水洗。
又方 洗角后，用小惊丸压邪，大惊丸镇惊。（方见前。）

又一方：角瘅游走不定，局部红肿疼痛，用药宜使药力达于手足上部为佳。取碎末：
寒水石、石膏、黄连、黄柏（各一两）。
以上药物研为细末，用水调匀后涂抹。
又一方：青黛、土朱研为细末，用井水调匀，加入蜂蜜敷于患处亦可。
又一方：黄丹不拘多少，用磨刀水调匀后涂抹。
又一方：瘅毒肿痛如火，用大黄、朴硝研为细末，调涂于肿胀处，立见疗效。水苔、生地黄、菘菜、浮萍、
用防风、酸车草、赤豆、灶心土煎汤外洗。
又一方：清洗患处后，用小惊丸压制邪气，大惊丸镇惊安神。（方剂见前文。）
To treat the accumulation of wind-heat and toxic pathogens, manifesting on the head, face, hands, and feet. The affected area is hot and red like cinnabar, burning like fire; gentle touch causes unbearable pain. Add Zicao (Radix Arnebiae) decoction to be taken alternately with Xijiao Xiaodu Yin (Rhinoceros Horn Detoxification Decoction). This treats Chi Dan (Red Carbuncle), Huo Dan (Fire Carbuncle), and Ziping Dan (Purple Duckweed Carbuncle). For severe high fever with extreme thirst and restlessness, add Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), Maidong (Rhizoma Ophiopogonis, heart removed), and Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas), each half a qian. (Formula see later in Chuangzhong Ke [Diseases of Sores and Swellings] category.)
Hongneixiao (Cinnabar processed with specific methods), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Qiepian (Solanum melongena slices), Gancao Jie (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma nodes), Qianghuo (Rhizoma Notopterygii), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae) (each half liang), Shexiang (Moschus) (half a qian).
Grind the above into powder. Take one qian per dose, mixed with decoction from eggplant stalks, or decoction from Shengdihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata) may also be used.
To treat the initial onset of Dan Du (Carbuncle Toxin), appearing like white plums, wandering throughout the body, accompanied by irritability, abdominal distension, and anxious crying. Take two qian per dose, with one sheng of water, two slices of Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens), and a small amount of Zicao (Radix Arnebiae), decocted and taken warm. (Formula see Dafang Ke [Great Formulas] Shanghan Lei [Cold Damage Category].)
Mix Pingxue Yin (Blood-Pacifying Drink) with Baidu San (Defeat-Toxin Powder). Add Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens), Bohe (Herba Menthae), Chantui (Periostracum Cicadae, feet and wings removed), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae, rhizome removed), finely cut and decocted. If thirsty, add a small amount of Tianhuafen (Radix Platycodi).
Another formula: For Jiao Dan (Horn Carbuncle) which wanders without fixed location, presenting with local redness, swelling, and pain, it is excellent if the medicinal effect reaches the upper parts of the hands and feet. Grind the following into powder:
Hanshuishi (Aqua Calcitae), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri) (each one liang).
Grind the above into powder, mix with water, and apply as a wash/paste.
Another formula: Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Tuzhu (Haematitum) ground into powder, mixed with well water and honey, applied to the affected area.
Another formula: Huangdan (Lithargyrum), quantity unrestricted, mixed with knife-grinding water and applied.
Another formula: For Dan Du (Carbuncle Toxin) swelling and pain like fire, use Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas) ground into powder, mixed and applied to the swollen area for immediate effect. Shuitai (Aquatic moss), Shengdihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata), Songcai (Brassica pekinensis), Fuping (Herba Lemnae),
Wash with decoction of Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Suanche Cao (Portulaca oleracea), Chidou (Vigna angularis), Zaoxintu (Caulis Ziziphus Jujubae Carbonized).
Another formula: After washing the affected area, use Xiao Jing Wan (Minor Calming Pill) to suppress pathogenic factors, and Da Jing Wan (Major Calming Pill) to calm fright. (Formulas see earlier.)
Take crushed material, place several leeches (Shuizhi), cover with green moss or wet paper. Remove blood, and symptoms will subside; repeat if not subsided. If Dan Du (Carbuncle Toxin) covers the whole body, entering the abdomen or yin regions is difficult to treat.
To treat Xin Gan (Heart Childhood Malnutrition Syndrome). Yellow complexion with red cheeks, fullness and high fever, mental restlessness, mouth sores, and false fright. (See earlier.)
