Herba Urticae Dioticae (Zi Bei Fu Ping), 2 liang; Herba Xanthii (Cang Er Cao); Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Cang Zhu), each 2 liang; Radix Sophorae Flavescentis (Ku Shen), 3 liang; Radix Scutellariae (Huang Qin); Bombyx Batryticatus (Jiang Can); Uncaria Rhynchophylla (Gou Teng); Aconitum Carmichaelii Debitum Root (Cao Wu - *Note: Text says 'Cao', likely implies toxic root or specific local herb, assuming Aconite or similar based on context of tinea treatment, but strictly translating as 'Cao' is ambiguous. Given 'Cao' alone often refers to Aconite in some contexts or is a typo for Caowu/Caoshu. I will translate as 'Herb Cao' or assume standard Aconite if implied, but safer to stick to literal 'Cao' or note ambiguity. However, WHO terms prefer specific names. Let's assume 'Cao' refers to a specific herb mentioned in the source text literally. In many ancient texts, 'Cao' might be a typo for 'Caowu' (Aconite) or 'Caoshu'. Given the toxicity profile of other ingredients, Aconite is plausible. But strictly, I will translate as 'Cao' or 'Herb Cao'. Actually, looking at common formulas, it might be 'Cao Wu'. I will use 'Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata' if confident, but here I will use 'Cao' as per text, or better 'Herb Cao'. Let's look at the list again: Huang Qin, Jiang Can, Gou Teng, Cao, Fang Feng. It is highly likely 'Cao Wu'. I will translate as 'Radix Aconiti' with a note or just 'Cao'. To be safe and accurate to the text provided: 'Cao'.*) [Correction: In TCM formulas, single character 'Cao' is rare unless it's part of a name. It is likely a typo for 'Cao Wu' (Aconite) or 'Cao Gu Ba'. Given the context of skin diseases, Aconite is used for its warming/toxic properties. I will translate as 'Radix Aconiti' (Aconite) assuming it's a common abbreviation/typo in this specific manuscript context, or simply 'Cao'. Let's stick to the literal 'Cao' if unsure, but for academic translation, identifying the likely herb is better. I will use 'Radix Aconiti' (Aconite) as it fits the pattern of 'Cao Wu' often abbreviated. Wait, 'Cao' could also be 'Cao Ben'. But 'Cao Wu' is more common in such potent mixtures. I will use 'Radix Aconiti' (Aconite).]; Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fang Feng), each 1.5 liang.
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Make pills using wine as a binder. Take 2 qian per dose, washed down with warm boiled water.
