After childbirth, all joints open, blood vessels disperse, qi is weak so blood stagnates in the meridians. If unresolved over days, it pulls on sinews and vessels, causing joint dysfunction. Thus, the waist and back cannot turn or bend, hands and feet cannot walk or move. There may be body heat and headache. If mistakenly treated as Taiyang syndrome (cold damage) with diaphoresis (sweating methods), it will cause sinew and vessel agitation, cold hands and feet, and various complications arise. It is suitable to consume Chen Tong San.
