治肌热，燥热，困渴引饮，目赤面红，昼夜不息。其脉洪大而虚，重按全无。《内经》曰∶“脉
虚血虚。”又云，血虚发热，证象白虎，惟脉不长实有辨耳，误服白虎汤必死。此病得之于饥困劳役。
黄 （一两） 当归（酒洗，二钱）
上件 咀，都作一服，水二盏，煎至一盏，去渣，温服，空心食前。
治上焦虚热，肺脘咽膈有气，如烟抢上。
黄连 山栀子（以上各一两） 人参 茯苓（以上各五钱） 朱砂（三钱，别研） 脑子（五分，别研）
右为细末，研匀，炼蜜为丸，如梧桐子大，朱砂为衣，熟水送下五七丸，日进三服，食后。
治心肺间有热，及经中热。
麦门冬（去心，一两） 黄连（去须，五钱） 鼠尾黄芩（净刮，三钱）
上为细末，炼蜜为丸，如绿豆大，每服三十丸，温水送下，食后。
治脾胃虚弱，气促气弱，精神短少，衄血吐血。
紫苑茸（一钱五分） 黄 白芍药 甘草（以上各一钱）
人参（去芦） 麦门冬（以上各五分） 当归身（三分） 五味子（三个）
上 咀，分作二服，每服水二盏，煎至一盏，去渣，温服，食后。
《局方》中大阿胶丸亦宜用。
治热止嗽，消痰定喘。
柴胡 人参（以上各一两五钱） 生黄芩 半夏 甘草（炙以上各七钱五分） 青黛（六钱） 天门冬
（去心，三钱） 陈皮（去白） 五味子（去核，二钱）
上件为细末，水糊为丸，如梧桐子大，每服三十丸至五十丸，温白汤送下，食后。
《局方》中人参清肺汤亦宜用。

将上述药材切碎，合并为一剂，加水两盏，煎煮至一盏，去渣，温服，空腹或饭前服用。

将上述药材研成细末，混合均匀，用炼蜜制成丸药，大小如梧桐子，以朱砂为衣，用熟水送服五至七丸，每日三次，饭后服用。
麦门冬（去心，一两） 黄连（去须，五钱） 鼠尾黄芩（净刮，三钱）
将上述药材研成细末，用炼蜜制成丸药，大小如绿豆，每次服用三十丸，温水送下，饭后服用。
紫苑茸（一钱五分） 黄芪 白芍药 甘草（以上各一钱）
人参（去芦头） 麦门冬（以上各五分） 当归身（三分） 五味子（三个）
将上述药材切碎，分为两剂，每剂加水两盏，煎煮至一盏，去渣，温服，饭后服用。

治疗热邪引起的咳嗽停止，消除痰液，平息喘息。

Treats [Ji Re] (muscle heat), dry heat, fatigue with excessive thirst and drinking, red eyes, flushed face, persisting day and night. The pulse is [Hong Da] (surging and large) yet deficient; upon heavy pressure, it feels completely empty. *Neijing* states: "A deficient pulse indicates blood deficiency." It also says that fever caused by blood deficiency presents symptoms resembling the [Bai Hu Tang] (White Tiger Decoction) pattern; the distinguishing feature is that the pulse is not long and solid. Misuse of Bai Hu Tang will surely lead to death. This condition arises from hunger, exhaustion, and overwork.
Huangqi (Astragali Radix, 1 liang) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, washed in wine, 2 qian)
Process the above ingredients by cutting them into pieces, combine as one dose, add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains, remove the dregs, and take warm on an empty stomach or before meals.
Treats deficiency-heat in the Upper Jiao, with qi rising like smoke rushing up through the lungs, chest, pharynx, and diaphragm.
Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) Shanzhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) (each 1 liang) Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) Fuling (Poria) (each 5 qian) Zhusha (Cinnabar, 3 qian, separately ground) Naozi (Borneolum Syntheticum, 5 fen, separately ground)
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix uniformly, form pills with refined honey, size of Sophora japonica seeds, coat with Cinnabar, and swallow 5–7 pills with cooked water, three times daily after meals.
Treats heat between the Heart and Lungs, and heat within the meridians.
Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed, 1 liang) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed, 5 qian) Shuwei Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, specifically from the root tail, scraped clean, 3 qian)
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, form pills with refined honey, size of mung beans, take 30 pills per dose with warm water after meals.
Treats Spleen and Stomach deficiency, shortness of breath, weak qi, diminished spirit, epistaxis, and hematemesis.
Ziyuanrong (Asterae Radix, 1.5 qian) Huangqi (Astragali Radix) Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1 qian)
Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, rhizome removed) Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix) (each 5 fen) Dangguishen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, root body, 3 fen) Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus, 3 fruits)
Cut the above ingredients into pieces, divide into two doses. For each dose, add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains, remove the dregs, and take warm after meals.
Da Ejiao Wan (Large Donkey-Hide Gelatin Pill) from *Jufang* is also suitable for use.
Treats cough stopped by clearing heat, eliminating phlegm, and calming wheezing.
Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1.5 liang) Sheng Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried) (each 7.5 qian) Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, 6 qian) Tianmendong (Asparagi Radix, heart removed, 3 qian) Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white pith removed) Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus, pits removed, 2 qian)
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, form pills with water paste, size of Sophora japonica seeds, take 30–50 pills per dose with warm plain boiled water after meals.
Ren Shen Qing Fei Tang (Ginseng Lung-Clearing Decoction) from *Jufang* is also suitable for use.
