鲫鱼，禀土气以生，味之气温，无毒，以属土，而性温，故内而肠胃，外而肌肉之
病，悉能治疗，为补中益气之需也。诸鱼属火，惟鲫属土耳，治肠风下血，用活鲫鱼一
大尾，去肠留鳞，入五倍子末，填满，泥固， ，存性，为末，酒服一钱。一方入白
矾末二钱，外以俟包，更以纸裹，煨，存性，研末，每二钱，米饮下。治膈气吐食，
用大鲫鱼，去肠留鳞，切大密藏，每服三十丸，米饮下。蠡鱼俗名乌鱼，即七星鱼，首
有七星，夜朝北斗，道家谓之水厌雁，为天雁，犬为地雁，《卫生歌》有云∶雁行有亭，
犬有义，黑鱼拱北，知臣礼人。无礼义。反食之，天地鬼神皆不喜。禀北方玄水之精、
得中央阴土之气，故色黑味甘，气寒无毒，乃益脾除水之要药也。主湿痹面目浮肿大
水，疗五痔香港脚风气，大小便塞，塞妊娠有水气，并取其除湿下水益脾之功也。盖土虚
则水泛滥，土坚则水循常道。凡治浮肿之药，或专于利水，或专于补脾，其性各自为
用，惟蠡鱼色黑象水，能从其类，以导横流之势，味甘土化，能补其不足。以逐敦阜之
性，补泻兼施，故主下水湿痹消肿，有神效也。五痔亦湿热所生，水去击湿热除，五痔
愈也。同白术、茯苓、橘皮、姜皮煮食，下水肿大效。与蒜作 食，能去湿下水，一治
十种水气。垂死方，蠡鱼一斤重者煮汁，和冬瓜、葱白作羹食之。喉痹将死者，以蠡鱼
胆点入少许，即瘥；深者，水调灌之。诸鱼胆皆苦，惟此胆甘可食为异耳。膳鱼得土中
之阳气以生，故味甘，气大温。甘温俱足，所以能补中益血。甘温能通而补，凡病属虚
热者，不宜食；时行病后食之多复；过食助风气，令人霍乱。鲤鱼禀阴极之气，故其鳞
三十有六，阴极则阳复，故《素问》言鱼热中也。其气味虽甘平，然六阴已极，阳气初
生，故多食能动风发热也。甘可以缓，故主咳逆上气，止渴。阴中有阳，能从其类，以
导之，故能利小便，使黄痘水肿香港脚俱消也。河间云∶鲤之治水，因其气以相感。故
《外台秘要》治水肿，用大鲤一尾，赤小豆一升，水二斗，煮可三升，余滤去滓，顿服
尽，当下利，利尽即瘥。并治妊娠水肿有神效。凡风热病者，天行病后，及下利有宿
者，俱不可食。不宣合天门冬、朱砂、犬肉、葵菜同食。凡炙鲤鱼，不可使烟入目，
否则，损失目光。鱼鳞俱得水中之阳气，而鲤鱼鳞则又禀阴极生阳之数，性能入血散
滞。入血者，阴之用；散滞者，阳之用也。故主妇人产后腹痛，及血气不和，如血迷血
晕，败血不止，淋漓不断，脐腹疼痛，及崩中下血过多不止，并用鲤鱼鳞，烧灰存性入
剂。治疗皆此义也。胆惟则以苦寒之功，为点目去障之用。乌贼鱼骨，一名海螵蛸，禀
水中之阳气以生，味咸气微温无毒，入足厥阴、少阴经，厥阴为藏血之脏，所以入肝而
主崩漏，赤白经汁，血闭寒热， 瘕血枯无孕，惊气入腹，腹疼环脐也。少阴为藏精之
脏，隐曲之地也，咸温入肾，所以主阴中寒肿，阴蚀肿痛，精竭无子，疮多脓汁，久腐
不收。为肝肾精血分之要药，《内经》亦以此治血枯要剂也。赤白目翳，用乌贼骨一
两，去皮为末，入片脑少许，点之耳底串脓，海螵蛸半钱，麝香一字，为末，以绵杖
绞冷，吹入小儿脐，疮出血及脓，海螵蛸干胭脂为末，油谓搽之。舌肿出血不止。海螵
蛸蒲黄各炒等分，为末涂之，此外治之功也。鳗鲡鱼，禀土中之阴气，味甘气寒，其
形类蛇，常与水蛇同穴，故其性有小毒，甘寒而喜能手虫，能骨蒸劳瘵，反五痔疮 ，
阴户蚀疮，湿痹风瘙，人常食之，有大热也。烧烟辟蚊蠓，熏屋含竹木则断蛀，置骨
于衣箱中则断蠹，杀虫之验可症矣。凡昂头行水者，及重三四斤者，腹下有黑斑，背上
有白点者，并有毒。不可食。妊娠食之。令胎有疾，脾胃薄弱，易泄者勿食。以其气寒
而性滑耳。青鱼胆色青象木，木气通于肝，肝开窍于目，故能治目暗。味苦气寒。能凉
血热，故又主涂恶疮，吹喉痹也。治赤目障翳，用黄连熬膏，入大青鱼胆汁和就，再入
片脑少放，瓶收蜜封，每日点之甚妙。一切障翳鱼胆丸用青鱼胆，鲤鱼胆、羊胆、牛胆
各半两，熊胆二钱，龙脑香少许。石决明一两，为末，蜜丸梧子大，每空心茶下十丸。
乳蛾喉痹，用胆矾盔青鱼胆中阴干，每用少许，吹喉取吐即愈。石首鱼，得海中水土之
气，故味甘、气平无毒，胃属土，甘为土化，故能开胃气，令饮食增则五脏皆得所养
而气自益矣。干则为鲞其性疏利，故能入肠胃宽中消食，止痛也。头中石坚重下走，故
主下石淋或磨石服之，或烧灰为末，凡泄痢腹痛，与夫肠胃诸疾，最忌油腻鱼腥，惟白
鲞不忌，盖鲞饮咸水，性平不热，且无腥腻，不惟少热中之患，更有消食理脾实肠胃
之功也。鲈鱼秋月方美，得水中之清气者乎，味甘淡气平与脾胃相宜之物也，故主补
五脏益筋骨，和肠胃，治水气，盖肾主骨，肝主筋，滋味属阴，总归于脏，并二脏之阴
气，故能益筋骨脾胃，有病则五脏有所滋养，而渐流于虚弱，脾弱则水气泛滥，益脾
胃则诸症自除矣。鳜鱼胆最能湿发，惟胆能治鱼鲠，及竹木刺误吞入喉不出，或吞入腹
中作痛隐隐皆效，状如鲈鱼者是。

除五痔漏疮疡，去皮肤风疹瘙痒如虫行，逐腰背风湿浸淫若水洗，男子骨蒸痨瘵，及脚
气久患者，削食有功，妇人产户虫疮。并崩漏不断者，多食最效。其骨烧熏。专杀一切
蛀虫，蚊蠓衣鱼。河豚鱼肉味虽珍，肝子极毒，须宗制熟，否则，中害。主理腰脚去疳
，杀虫补虚羸，去湿气消肿。江豚取脂燃灯，凡樗博即明，读书纺绩则暗，俗言赖妇
所伏。鳝鱼大温，端午日方取，主妇人产前疾善调，功专补中益气，散温气，去狐臭。

收疮口腐脓，囊湿扑之，耳聋吹愈。腹中黑，酽醋摩浓，虫心痛，顿服即愈，写契略谈，过岁全无。

蠡鱼俗名乌鱼，也就是七星鱼，头上有七个星点，夜晚朝向北斗星。道家称之为“水厌雁”，天雁对应天，犬对应地，《卫生歌》中说：“雁行有亭，犬有义，黑鱼拱北，知臣礼人。”如果不讲礼义，反而吃它，天地鬼神都不喜欢。蠡鱼禀受北方玄水之精，得中央阴土之气，所以颜色黑、味道甘、性质寒、无毒，是健脾利水的要药。主治湿痹、面目浮肿、大水病，治疗五种痔疮、香港脚（足部肿痛）、风气、大小便不通，以及妊娠期间有水气，都是利用它除湿、利水、健脾的功效。大概是因为脾土虚弱则水液泛滥，脾土坚实则水液循常道运行。凡是治疗浮肿的药物，有的专门利水，有的专门补脾，它们的药性各有所长。只有蠡鱼颜色黑象水，能顺从其类，引导横流的水势；味道甘能化土，能补益不足。以驱逐敦厚过剩的水性，补泻兼施，所以主治下水湿、痹症、消肿，有神奇疗效。五种痔疮也是湿热所生，水去则湿热除，痔疮自愈。与白术、茯苓、橘皮、姜皮一起煮食，对消除水肿效果显著。与蒜做成羹食，能去湿利水，可治疗十种水气病。垂死方：取一斤重的蠡鱼煮汁，和冬瓜、葱白做成羹食用。喉痹将死者，用蠡鱼胆滴入少许，即可痊愈；病情深的，用水调匀灌服。各种鱼的胆都苦，只有这个胆甘可食用，这是它的特异之处。

Crucian carp (Cyprinus carpio) is born from the Qi of Earth, with a sweet and neutral taste and warm nature, non-toxic. Because it belongs to Earth and has a warm nature, it can treat both internal diseases of the stomach and intestines and external diseases of muscles and flesh, making it essential for tonifying the Middle Jiao and benefiting Qi. Most fish belong to Fire, but only crucian carp belongs to Earth. To treat intestinal wind bleeding (hematochezia), take one large live crucian carp, remove the entrails but keep the scales, fill it with powder of Galla Chinensis (Wubeizi), seal tightly with mud, calcine until the original properties are retained (Cun Xing), grind into powder, and take 1 qian with wine. Another method adds 2 qian of Alum (Baifan) powder inside, wraps it externally with Si (a plant material), then wraps it in paper, roasts until Cun Xing, grinds into powder, takes 2 qian each time with rice water. To treat diaphragm qi and vomiting food, take a large crucian carp, remove entrails keep scales, cut into large pieces and store tightly, take 30 pills each time with rice water.
Liyu, commonly known as snakehead fish (Channa argus), also called Seven-Star Fish, has seven spots on its head and faces the Big Dipper at night. Daoists call it "Shui Yan Yan" (Water Repelling Goose); Heavenly Goose corresponds to Heaven, Dog corresponds to Earth. The *Health Song* states: "Goose flocks have pavilions, dogs have righteousness, black fish bows north, knowing the etiquette of subjects." If one lacks ritual and righteousness, and eats it instead, Heaven, Earth, and spirits will not approve. Liyu inherits the essence of Northern Dark Water and obtains the Yin Earth Qi of the Center, so it is black in color, sweet in taste, cold in nature, and non-toxic. It is a key herb for benefiting the spleen and removing dampness/water. It mainly treats damp bi syndrome, facial and ocular edema, severe water retention disease, five types of hemorrhoids, Hong Kong foot (podagra/foot swelling), wind pathogens, obstruction of urination and defecation, and pregnancy-related water qi, utilizing its functions of draining dampness, promoting urination, and strengthening the spleen. Generally, when Spleen Earth is deficient, water overflows; when Spleen Earth is firm, water follows normal pathways. Medications treating edema either focus solely on draining water or solely on tonifying the spleen, each having distinct properties. Only Liyu, being black like water, follows its kind to guide the overflowing water flow; its sweet taste transforms into Earth, replenishing deficiencies. By expelling the excessive nature of water and combining tonification and purgation, it effectively treats water-dampness, bi syndrome, and swelling. Five types of hemorrhoids are also generated by damp-heat; when water is removed, damp-heat is eliminated, and hemorrhoids heal. Boiling with Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Poria (Fuling), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Jupi), and Zingiberis Recensis Peridermis (Jiangpi) is effective for reducing edema. Eating it with garlic helps drain dampness and promote urination, treating ten types of water qi diseases. For the "Dying Method": boil a one-jin Liyu, mix with winter melon and scallion white to make soup. For impending death from throat obstruction (Hou Bi), drip a small amount of Liyu gallbladder juice; if severe, dilute with water and administer. All fish gallbladders are bitter, but this one is sweet and edible, which is unique.
Shanyu obtains Yang Qi from Earth, so it is sweet and very warm. With both sweet and warm properties, it tonifies the Middle and benefits blood. Sweet and warm can unblock and tonify; thus, it is unsuitable for deficiency-heat conditions. Consuming it after an epidemic disease may cause recurrence; excessive consumption aids wind pathogens, leading to cholera-like symptoms. Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) inherits extreme Yin Qi, hence it has 36 scales. Extreme Yin leads to Yang recovery, so the *Su Wen* states that fish causes heat in the middle. Although its taste is sweet and neutral, since Six Yins are exhausted and Yang is just beginning to grow, excessive consumption can stir wind and cause fever. Sweetness can moderate, so it treats cough and rebellious Qi, stops thirst. Containing Yang within Yin, it follows its kind to guide, thus promoting urination and resolving jaundice, edema, and Hong Kong foot. He Jian said: Carp treats water disorders through resonance of Qi. Thus, the *Waitai Miyao* treats edema using one large carp, one sheng of Adzuki beans (Xiaodoudou), two dou of water, boiled down to three sheng, filtered, taken all at once. This induces diarrhea; once finished, the patient recovers. It is also effective for pregnancy edema. Patients with wind-heat, post-epidemic conditions, or dysentery with retained food should avoid eating it. Do not consume with Asparagi Radix (Tianmendong), Cinnabar (Zhusha), dog meat, or Malva verticillata (Kuicai). When roasting carp, avoid smoke entering the eyes, as it damages vision. Fish scales obtain Yang Qi from water, while carp scales specifically inherit the number of generating Yang from extreme Yin. Their function enters the blood to disperse stagnation. Entering blood is the use of Yin; dispersing stagnation is the use of Yang. Therefore, they treat postpartum abdominal pain, Qi and blood disharmony, such as blood confusion/fainting, continuous lochia, umbilical and abdominal pain, and metrorrhagia with excessive bleeding. Burn carp scales to ash (Cun Xing) and add to decoctions. Treatment follows this principle. Gallbladders rely on bitter-cold properties for eye applications to remove obstructions.
Cuttlefish bone (Hai Piaoxiao), also known as Sepiae Endoconcha, obtains Yang Qi from water. Salty, slightly warm, non-toxic, enters the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian and Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. Shaoyin stores essence, the hidden place. Salty-warm enters the Kidney, treating cold swelling of the vagina, erosion/swelling, essence depletion without offspring, ulcers with pus, and chronic non-healing wounds. It is a key medicine for Liver-Kidney essence and blood. The *Nei Jing* also uses it as a primary agent for blood dryness. For red/white corneal opacities, use 1 liang of Hai Piaoxiao, peel, grind, add a little Borneol (Pian Nao), apply to eyes. For ear canal suppuration, use 0.5 qian Hai Piaoxiao, 1 zi Moschus (Shexiang), grind, squeeze cold liquid with cotton stick, blow into ears. For infant umbilical ulcers with bleeding/pus, use dried Hai Piaoxiao and Chinese Rosin (Yanzhi) ground, apply with oil. For swollen tongue with bleeding, equal parts fried Hai Piaoxiao and Polygoni Multiflori Caulis (Puhuang), grind and apply. These are external treatments.

Green fish (Qingyu) gallbladder is green like Wood, Wood Qi connects to Liver, Liver opens to eyes, so it treats dim vision. Bitter-cold cools blood heat, treats malignant sores, blows for throat obstruction. For red eyes/opacities, boil Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) into paste, mix with green fish gallbladder, add Borneol, seal with honey, apply daily. Pill for all opacities: Green fish gall, common carp gall, sheep gall, ox gall (each 0.5 liang), bear gall (2 qian), Borneol (small amount), Halitum (Shijueming, 1 liang), grind, honey pills, 10 pills empty stomach with tea. For tonsillitis/throat obstruction, dry Qingyu gall with Vitriolum Cupri (Danfan), blow small amount into throat to induce vomiting, cures.
Stone-head fish (Shishouyu) obtains Qi of sea water and earth, sweet, neutral, non-toxic. Stomach belongs to Earth, sweet transforms to Earth, so it opens appetite, increases food intake, nourishes five Zang organs, benefiting Qi. Dried as "Xiang", its nature is dispersing/unblocking, enters stomach/intestines, broadens middle, digests food, stops pain. Stone in head is heavy and descending, treats stone strangury, or grind stone to eat/burn to ash. For dysentery/abdominal pain and gastrointestinal diseases, oily/fishy foods are taboo, except white Xiang. Xiang drinks salt water, neutral/non-hot, no fishy/greasy odor, avoids heat-in-middle, promotes digestion, strengthens spleen, solidifies intestines. Sea bass (Luyu) is best in autumn, obtaining clear Qi from water. Sweet/light, neutral, suitable for spleen/stomach. Taste is Yin, returns to Zang, combines Yin Qi of Liver/Kidney, benefits sinews/bones/spleen/stomach. Illness nourishes five Zang, improves weakness.
