Donkey dung is used for hot compresses to treat wind-induced swelling and sores. It primarily manages accumulations (masses in the abdomen), regurgitation, and stops toothache immediately; it is a specific remedy for edema. Dung from female donkeys shows special efficacy in treating dry-type fluid retention. HT Donkey dung is miraculously effective for treating wet-type fluid retention. The dosage is five he (approximately 50-100 ml) per administration; ensure accuracy. If one can draw clear characters on the body with a finger, it indicates internal dry-type fluid retention. If characters do not form clearly, it indicates internal wet-type fluid retention.
Bear fat: The *Classic of Poetry* states, "Dreaming of bears and male bears signifies the birth of a son." This is selected because the bear is regarded as a Yang animal, possessing strong power and resolute character. Its taste is sweet, and its nature is slightly warm. It is non-toxic. Due to its sweet, warm, moistening, and nourishing properties, it is essential for treating wind-bi (Wind-Bi syndrome) and tendon spasms. Its slippery and permeating nature helps eliminate gastrointestinal accumulations and vomiting caused by food and drink. Being moistening and capable of dispersing wind, while being sweet and warm to strengthen vitality, it treats head sores and white tinea capitis (scalp ringworm), enabling emaciated individuals to gain weight. Its ability to strengthen will and suppress hunger are both results of tonifying deficiency and strengthening sinews and bones. Bear gallbladder has a bitter taste and cold nature; it is non-toxic and enters the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian. Thus, it treats jaundice and pathogenic heat. It enters the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, thus treating chronic dysentery, childhood malnutrition syndromes (Gan syndromes), and damp-heat. It enters the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian, thus treating heart pain, Zhu-wu (transmitting evil causing heart pain), and pathogenic heat. Extremely bitter and cold, it enters the Liver and Gallbladder meridians to clear excess heat, thus treating red eyes, corneal opacities, killing parasites, treating malignant sores, and applying to hemorrhoids.
Bear fat, located like jade in the center of the bear's heart, is also known as "Xiong Bai" (Bear White). After refining with Sichuan pepper and purifying, it should be sealed in porcelain jars. It treats wind-bi leading to numbness and insensitivity, tendon spasms, eliminates gastrointestinal accumulations, and enables emaciated limbs to regain flesh. It treats head sores and white tinea capitis, vomiting due to food and drink. Long-term use strengthens will and heart, prevents hunger, and delays aging. Bear gallbladder tastes extremely bitter. It does not attach to the liver; in spring it is at the head, in summer in the abdomen, in autumn at the left foot, and in winter at the right foot. It should be searched for according to the season. Hang it in a ventilated place to dry into solid blocks with a gelatinous nature. It is incompatible with Rehmanniae Radix (Dihuang) and Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix (Fangji). Authenticity is hard to distinguish; grinding into powder and testing in water reveals the truth: first cover the water surface with dust, then sprinkle the powder onto the dust. The dust will split to both sides, while the powder falls in a straight line. This product is of excellent quality, suitable for making pills or powders, but not for decoction. It treats epidemic febrile diseases where heat steams upward, transforming into jaundice; pediatric phlegm-wind obstruction causing convulsions and epilepsy, chronic dysentery, Gan syndromes, heart pain, and Zhu-wu; expels the Five Gan syndromes, kills parasites, applies to malignant sores to disperse toxicity, and when applied to persistent hemorrhoids, shows miraculous effects. For red eyes and corneal opacities, application is very effective. Bear paws are delicacies. When hungry, licking one's own paw serves as a meal. However, bear meat dislikes salt; consuming it causes death. It can resist wind-cold, benefits Qi, and strengthens power. The meat and fat have similar functions. Hejian (Liu Wansu) stated: "Bear meat revitalizes the emaciated," utilizing its abundant Qi to supplement deficiency.
