味辛，微热。虎属金而制木，故为搜风强筋壮骨之用。虎骨酥炙捣碎用。虎肚取上
者存秽勿洗，新瓦固 ，存性为末，入平胃散一两，每服三钱，治反胃神效。
虎胫骨，治风痹健膝，辟邪恶鬼疰，止惊悸健忘，愈恶疮大咬，历节痛风筋骨诸
病，惊痫癫疾，脚膝拘挛，瘫痪酸疼。
按∶虎者，山兽之君，西方之兽，故通于金气，风从虎虎啸而风生，风木也，虎金
也，木受金制，焉得不从，故可入骨搜风，强筋壮骨，然虎之强勇，皆在于前胫，以其
性虽死，而胫犹屹立不仆，故胫内胜他骨百倍，借其气有余，补其不足也。味辛微热，
即禀勇猛之气，复有辛散之功。故为辟邪散恶，惊痫癫疾，走筋达骨之用，若腰脊痛
者、当用脊骨，中药箭必有微黑，有毒损人。不可不辨，虎肚治反胃有功，虎爪主辟邪杀鬼。
马为火畜，阴茎又为纯阳之物。故能主男子阴痿，坚强房中药多用之。味甘、咸，
气温，无毒，甘能补血脉。温能通经络。故主伤中脉绝也。咸能走下，温助真阳，则阴
自起，精自暖，令人有子也。气属阴，阳得补，故气益肾藏志，肾气足故志强。甘温补
其阳，质味补其阴，故强志益阴。长肌肉令肥健也。凡收当取银色无病。白马春月游牝
时，力势正强者，生取阴干百日，用时以铜刀切片，将生羊血，拌蒸半日，去血晒干
锉用。白马通味苦，性凉，止渴疗诸血热症，及阴阳易垂死者，绞汁服之。白马尿，
味成辛、气微温、咸能软坚，辛温能散，故治 坚瘕积诸症。
白马茎，取嫩驹力盛，须春季活收，悬壁阴干百日，铜刀辟作七片，拌羊血蒸三时
晒燥，以粗布揩去上毛，及干羊血研细，与苁蓉各等分捣烂蜜丸豆大，酒下空心，术助
房中，增益阴气，坚举阳茎，续绝脉，主中伤。长肌肉，令肥健，强志益精，令人有
子。肉堪强腰脊长筋，不宜怀孕，患痢生疮，禁勿沾口，生姜、仓米、苍耳、忌食同
时。但自死，并毛色杂殊，及蹄无夜眼，鞍下等肉，并弃勿餐。好肉仍宜醇酒送下，酒
浊致病无酒杀人。眼，去腹满疟疾。齿摩水饮，治小儿惊痫。 烧灰敷疮毒止血。牙烧
灰贴疔肿出根。头骨作枕卧，治男子夜眠，能令常醒。蹄甲治妇人带下，赤马蹄治赤
带，白马蹄治白带，立使不流，悬蹄治齿痛，通乳难，辟恶气鬼疰，除螈 ，惊邪，
且止血衄，骨刺人皮肤不治。血入人肌肉即亡，心主健忘。肺主寒热。肝有毒勿用。乳
解渴宜求。脂柔五金不坚。膏涂秃发复出毛，疗惊痫。 ，止崩带。尿，名马通，亦
禁诸血止渴，及金疮吐衄，妇人崩中。尿。尿盛于铜器，可洗白秃头疮，男伏梁积疝殊
功，女 坚积聚极验，能推鳖瘕，亦解消渴。昔有与奴同患心腹痛病，奴死剖之，得
一白鳖，赤眼仍活，以诸药纳口中终不死。有人乘白马观之，马尿堕鳖而鳖缩，遂以灌
之，即化为水，其人仍服之，疾亦愈。绊绳碎断浓煎，小儿诸痫并洗。

Taste pungent, nature slightly hot. The tiger belongs to Metal and controls Wood; therefore, it is used for searching out wind pathogens and strengthening tendons and bones. Tiger bone should be roasted with suet (animal fat) until crisp, then crushed for use. Take the upper part of the tiger's stomach, retain its impurities without washing, seal it in a new tile, calcine it until it retains its essence, grind into powder, add one tael of Pingwei San (Calm the Stomach Powder), take three qian per dose; it is miraculously effective for treating regurgitation (fanwei).
Tiger shin bone treats wind-bi causing knee weakness, expels evil spirits and ghostly infections, stops palpitations and forgetfulness, cures malignant sores and severe bites, various joint gout and tendon-bone diseases, convulsive epilepsy, leg and knee spasms, paralysis, soreness, and pain.
Note: The tiger is the lord of mountain beasts and a beast of the West, thus communicating with Metal Qi. "Wind follows the tiger"; when the tiger roars, wind arises. Wind belongs to Wood, the tiger to Metal. Since Wood is controlled by Metal, how can it not obey? Thus, tiger bone can enter the bones to search out wind, strengthen tendons and bones. However, the tiger's strength and courage lie in its front shins, because although its nature dies, the shin bone remains standing upright and does not fall. Therefore, the shin bone is a hundred times superior to other bones. Borrowing its surplus Qi to supplement human deficiency. Its pungent taste and slightly hot nature indicate it inherits the Qi of bravery and possesses the function of pungent dispersion. Thus, it is used to dispel evil and disperse malice, treat convulsive epilepsy, travel through tendons and reach bones. For those with lower back and spine pain, spine bone should be used instead. [Counterfeit] tiger bone medicine often has a slight black color and is toxic, harming people; this must be distinguished. Tiger stomach is effective for regurgitation; tiger claws are used to dispel evil and kill ghosts.
The horse is a Fire animal, and its penis is a pure Yang object. Therefore, it mainly treats male impotence and provides firmness during sexual intercourse, where it is often used. Taste sweet and salty, nature warm, non-toxic. Sweetness can tonify blood vessels; warmth can unblock meridians. Thus, it treats injury to the middle jiao and meridian interruption. Salty flavor travels downward; warmth assists True Yang, so the yin organ naturally rises, essence becomes warm, enabling procreation. Qi belongs to Yin; when Yang is tonified, Qi tonifies the Kidney and stores Will. When Kidney Qi is sufficient, Will is strong. Baima Tong (White Horse Penis) tastes bitter, nature cool, stops thirst, treats various blood-heat syndromes, and for those dying from Yin-Yang exchange syndrome, squeeze juice and drink. Horse urine, taste salty and pungent, nature slightly warm; saltiness softens hardness, pungency and warmth disperse; thus, it treats hard masses and accumulations.
Baima Jing (White Horse Penis): Select young horses with vigorous strength, collect alive in spring, hang on a wall to dry in the shade for one hundred days, slice into seven pieces with a copper knife, mix with sheep blood, steam for three two-hour periods, dry thoroughly, wipe off hair with coarse cloth, and dry sheep blood, grind fine, mix equally with Cong Rong (Cistanche), pound into paste, make honey pills the size of beans, take on an empty stomach with wine to assist sexual activity, benefit Yin Qi, firm and erect the penis, reconnect severed meridians, treat internal injuries. Grows muscle, makes body robust, strengthens Will, benefits Essence, enables procreation. Meat can strengthen waist and spine, grow tendons; not suitable during pregnancy. Those with dysentery or sores must avoid contact with mouth. Ginger, stored rice, and Xanthium sibiricum are contraindicated for simultaneous consumption. Self-dead horses, horses with mixed fur colors, hooves without night eyes (small projections on the posterior edge of the hoof), and meat from under the saddle should all be discarded and not eaten. Bone splinters entering skin if not treated lead to death. Blood entering human muscles causes death. Heart governs forgetfulness. Lung governs cold and heat. Liver is toxic and should not be used. Milk quenches thirst effectively. Fat softens but does not harden metal. Ointment applied to bald patches causes hair to regrow, treats convulsions. Stops metrorrhagia and leukorrhea. Urine, named Ma Tong (Horse Passage), also contraindicated for various blood disorders, stops thirst, treats traumatic wounds with vomiting blood and epistaxis, and women's metrorrhagia. Urine collected in a copper vessel can wash white tinea capitis; it is remarkably effective for men's Fuliang accumulation and hernia, and extremely effective for women's hard masses and accumulations, can push away Biema (turtle-like mass), and also resolves Xiao Ke (wasting-thirst syndrome). Once, a man and his slave suffered from heart and abdominal pain together; the slave died and was dissected, revealing a white turtle with red eyes still alive. Various medicines were placed in its mouth, but it did not die. Someone riding a white horse observed this; horse urine fell on the turtle, causing it to shrink. They then poured urine on it, turning it into water. The man subsequently drank it, and his illness was cured. Broken tether ropes decocted thickly treat various pediatric epilepsies and for washing.
