The above two diagrams (the Starting and Ending Points of the Twelve Meridians, and the Diagram of the Sixteen Luo-Connecting Points) are now complete.
The Lung Meridian of Hand-Taiyin originates in the Middle Jiao (Zhongfu LU-1, located near the axilla), emerges horizontally from under the arm, follows the medial aspect of the arm, and exits at the tip of the thumb (Shao Shang LU-11). It passes through the index finger to connect with the Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming. The Large Intestine Meridian originates at the radial side of the index finger (Shang Yang LI-1), follows the lateral aspect of the arm, enters the supraclavicular fossa (Quepen), traverses the face, and flanks the nostril (Yingxiang LI-20, beside the nose), where it connects with the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming. The Stomach Meridian originates in the nasal cavity (Chengqi ST-1, below the eye), ascends to the forehead, follows the throat, descends through the diaphragm, runs alongside the knee patella, goes down to the dorsum of the foot, and exits at the tip of the great toe (Lidui ST-45), connecting with the Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin. The Spleen Meridian originates at the tip of the great toe (Yinbai SP-1), ascends to the anterior aspect of the knee, enters the abdomen, ascends through the diaphragm, connects with the root of the tongue, and pours into the Heart, following the axillary region (Dabao SP-21), where it connects with the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin. The Heart Meridian originates in the heart (exiting via Ji Quan HT-1 in the axilla), ascends to the lung, flanks the pharynx, emerges from the axilla, follows the medial posterior aspect of the arm, reaches the palm bone, and pours into the medial side of the little finger (Shaofu HT-8; note: original text erroneously cites Shao Shang, but context implies Heart meridian exit), connecting with the Small Intestine Meridian of Hand-Taiyang. The Small Intestine Meridian originates at the ulnar side of the little finger (Shao Ze SI-1), emerges from the wrist, follows the lateral aspect of the arm, connects at the shoulder, enters the ear (Tinggong SI-19), and reaches the inner canthus of the eye, connecting with the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang. The Bladder Meridian originates at the inner canthus of the eye (Jingming BL-1), descends from the head to the nape and spine, follows the back muscles, descends along the posterior thigh, and reaches the lateral side of the little toe (Zhiyin BL-67), connecting with the Kidney Meridian of Foot-Shaoyin. The Kidney Meridian originates at the sole of the foot (Yongquan KI-1), ascends along the thigh, penetrates the spine, ascends through the liver and diaphragm, enters the lung, flanks the root of the tongue, and pours into the chest (Shufu KI-27 on the chest), connecting with the Pericardium Meridian of Hand-Jueyin. The Pericardium Meridian originates in the chest (exiting via Tianchi PC-1 near the breast), follows the chest, emerges from the hypochondrium, enters the elbow, follows the arm, passes through the center of the palm (Zhongchong PC-9 on the middle finger), follows the radial side of the little finger's adjacent finger (index finger), and connects with the Sanjiao Meridian of Hand-Shaoyang. The Sanjiao Meridian originates at the radial side of the ring finger (Guan Chong SJ-1), follows the arm, emerges from the lateral aspect of the arm, penetrates the elbow, ascends to the shoulder, enters the ear, emerges from the front and back of the ear (Sizhukong SJ-23 at the tail of the eyebrow), and reaches the outer canthus of the eye, connecting with the Gallbladder Meridian of Foot-Shaoyang. The Gallbladder Meridian originates at the outer canthus of the eye (Tongziliao GB-1), follows the ear to the shoulder, converges at the supraclavicular fossa, descends into the chest, passes the lateral costal margin, emerges at the knee, follows the dorsum of the foot (Qiaoyin GB-44 at the fourth toe), exits at the tip of the great toe, and connects with the Liver Meridian of Foot-Jueyin. The Liver Meridian originates at the hairy margin of the great toe (Dadun LR-1), ascends from the medial thigh, passes the genitalia, reaches the lower abdomen, ascends to below the breast (Qimen LR-14), and connects with the Lung Meridian of Hand-Taiyin. This constitutes one cycle of the Twelve Meridians, wherein the head, face, chest, back, hands, and feet each have their specific domains, forming the regional distribution of the meridians throughout the body.
