二神丸\x(方用肉豆蔻以补脾,破故纸以安肾,故称二神) 治饭后随即大便。
Pi Yue Wan (also known as Mahuang Wan)
Houpo (processed with ginger juice), Zhishi (stir-fried with flour), Shaoyao (each 8 liang), Dahuang (steamed and dried, 1 jin), Huomaren (separately ground, 8 liang), Xingren (skin and tip removed, stir-fried, 5.5 liang).
Grind the above herbs into fine powder, mix with refined honey to make pills, size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 20 pills each time, swallow with warm water before bedtime. Stop when bowel movement becomes smooth.
Note: Standards for weight and measurement differ between ancient and modern times; various schools calculate the proportions of this formula differently, making it impossible to unify them.
San Chengqi Tang (see Shanghan Lun)
Zuo Gui Yin (formula see Headache chapter). This formula adds Shengdi and Danggui to nourish the Yin of the Yangming channel, thereby clearing the dryness-fire of latent pathogens in the stomach and mouth. Fuling is omitted because its action might stray into the Kan (Kidney) region; it is more effective to focus specifically on the Yangming channel for rapid results.
San Yi Chengqi Tang (see Wenyi chapter). Fuzi Lizhong Tang (i.e., Lizhong Tang plus Fuzi).
Zhenwu Tang. Treats vomiting and counterflow qi due to Shaoyin disease, abdominal pain, and short urine, as well as all types of fluid-retention syndromes.
Yunfuling, Baishao, Shengjiang (each 3 qian), Baizhu, Fuzi (each 2 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally.
The brilliance of this formula lies in the pungent-warm nature of Shengjiang to promote Qi circulation; when Qi moves, fluids flow. Contemporary physicians suspect that Shengjiang induces sweating and substitute Ganjiang instead. They fail to realize that Ganjiang is "stationary and does not move," completely losing the original intent of this formula. If further charred or combined with Rougui, it would be even more ignorant and reckless.
Wuzhuyu Tang (see Headache section above). Xiao Chaihu Tang / Da Chaihu Tang. Wu Xiexin Tang (all see Shanghan Lun).
Yueju Wan (created by Zhu Danxi). Treats all types of Yu (depression/stagnation) syndromes.
Xiangfu, Cangzhu, Fuxiong (a type of Chuanxiong), Zhizi, Liushenqu (equal parts). Make into pills or decoction as appropriate.
Dabanxia Tang
Banxia (washed to remove saliva, 6 qian), Renshen (3 qian), Baimi (8 qian).
Add 3.5 cups of water, mix with honey, stir vigorously 240 times, decoct until reduced to 0.8 portion, and take.
The use of a large amount of water in this formula aims to boil the Baimi extensively to remove its cold nature while utilizing its moistening property. This ensures its sticky nature lingers in the stomach rather than descending quickly, allowing the power of Banxia and Renshen to slowly rotate in the middle jiao. Only those who thoroughly understand the principles of creation can comprehend this. The inability of Qi to descend between the throat and diaphragm is caused by the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) ascending and counterflow Qi acting up. When treating disorders of the Chong Mai, one should target the Yangming channel. Zhang Zhongjing used Banxia to subdue the counterflow of the Chong Mai, Baimi to moisten the dryness of the Yangming channel, Renshen to generate lost body fluids, and Ganlan Shui (Ganlan Water) to lower the counterflowing fluid retention. Among the classic formulas of ancient sages, only Zhang Zhongjing could utilize them effectively.
Buhuanjin Zhengqi San. Yang Renzhai stated: "Although Spleen Qi may be strong, if Kidney Qi is insufficient, food and drink will cause loose stools with undigested food in the Large Intestine. Decoct Buhuanjin Zhengqi San and swallow Anshen Wan."
Cangzhu (soaked in rice water), Chenpi (each 2.5 qian), Houpo (processed with ginger juice, 2 qian), Gancao (honey-fried), Huoxiang (each 1 qian), Banxia (soaked in hot water seven times, 1.5 qian).
Use 2 zhong of water, 3 slices of ginger, and 2 dates. Decoct until reduced to 0.8 portion, then swallow Anshen Wan.
Anshen Wan. Treats insufficiency of Kidney Qi causing immediate diarrhea after meals. Additionally, *Jinkui Yi* states: "Asthma due to Kidney deficiency, where inhalation cannot reach down, or Qi rising from the lower abdomen upwards, occurring upon slight exertion or hunger, should be treated with Yin-nourishing formulas like Liuwei Dihuang Wan to strengthen Water to balance Fire. If there are cold feet and a hot face, Anshen-type formulas must be used to guide Water back to its source."
Chuanwu (processed, skin and navel removed), Lagui (each 4 liang), Baifuling (skin removed), Baizhu (earth-stir-fried), Shihu (wine-stir-fried), Baijili (stir-fried), Taoren (skin and tip removed, stir-fried), Bibi, Ganshangyao, Bajitian, Pogu zhi (Buguzhi), Rongrong (wine-soaked, each 12 liang).
Grind all herbs into fine powder, mix with refined honey to make pills size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 50 pills each time, delivered with light salt water.
Since Kidney Qi is insufficient, warming and tonifying herbs are used to stabilize it. The three herbs Taoren, Bibi, and Jili in this formula are beyond ordinary reasoning. Its conceptual design is similar to Qimuli Huang Wan. However, Qimuli Huang Wan excels at promoting urination, which inevitably reduces its warming and tonifying power, whereas this formula uses specific ingredients with greater potency.
Ershen Wan (uses Roudoukou to tonify Spleen and Pogu zhi to stabilize Kidney, hence named 'Two Divine'). Treats immediate defecation after meals.
Roudoukou (4 liang, raw), Pogu zhi (half jin, stir-fried).
Grind into fine powder. Use flesh from large, thin jujubes, grind into paste, mix with herb powder, and pound into pills size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 50-70 pills each time, delivered with rice drink and salt on an empty stomach. Add Muxiang (2 liang) to name Sanshen Wan; add Huixiang (1 liang) to name Sishen Wan.
