Then, puncture the purplish-black areas with a needle, rinse away the blood with saline solution, insufflate Bingpian San (Borneol Powder), and continue administering Ganjie Tang (Licorice and Platycodon Decoction). If food and drink cannot be taken, urgently administer Jiedu Xionghuang Wan (Detoxifying Realgar Pill), ground with vinegar and swallowed as seven pills. Generally speaking, for cheek abscesses, if pus discharges from the mouth, it is easy to treat; if pus discharges from outside the cheek, it is difficult to cure, due to the rupture of the skin.

A small knife can be used to prick them open, insufflate Bingpian San (Borneol Powder), and continue administering Qingwei San (Stomach-Clearing Powder). There is also Ya Xuan Syndrome (Gum Disease), where the gum roots are entirely swollen and exposed, or dental bleeding does not stop.
