砂仁。或通加枳壳、砂仁。胎动不安，加金银三五钱，野苎麻根一
钱。气上逼心，加紫苏、地黄。性急，加柴胡。多愁，加黄芩佐之。
食少，加砂仁、神曲。渴，加麦门冬、黄芩。能食，倍加黄杨脑（此物能瘦胎不长）。有痰，加半夏、黄芩。
临月用以养胎方（丹溪）
当归 川芎 黄芩 陈皮 白术 香附（各一钱） 白芷（半钱） 甘草（二分）
上细切，水煎，调益元散一钱服。虚者，加人参七分。
催生散（丹溪）
白芷（炒焦黑） 百草霜 白滑百（各等分）
上为细末，煎芎归汤调下二、三钱。
红苋菜及马齿苋俱能堕胎，妊妇切忌。临产用以催生，煮食亦效。（丹溪）
难产多是气血虚，亦有气血凝滞而不能转运者，亦有因八、九个月内不能谨欲者。（丹溪）
难产多见于安逸郁闷之人，富贵奉养之妇，其贫贱者未之有
也。古方瘦胎饮，本为湖阳公主设，盖以其奉养浓而气实，故为此
方以耗其气，使气血和平而易产耳，非至论也。（丹溪）
金匮当归散（仲景） 安胎养血清热，孕妇时常宜服。
当归 川芎 芍药 白术 条芩（各等分）
上为细末，每服二钱，温酒或汤调服。
金液丸（良方） 治横生倒产。
飞生毛（火烧，腋下毛尤佳） 血余（无病女人发， 灰） 公母羊粪（以上
各半钱，烧灰） 伏龙肝（一钱） 黑铅（三钱，用小铫子火上熔，投水银半钱，急搅，结成砂子，倾出细研）。
上为细末，用粽子尖为丸，如绿豆大，遇难产，以顺流水送下五
丸，儿身自顺而正产，子母俱活矣。
催生铅丹（良方） 治横生逆产。
如神丹 治难产。
用巴豆三枚，萆麻子七枚（各去壳），研入射香少许，捏作饼子贴脐。
诗曰∶巴三萆七脱衣裳，细研如泥入射香，捏作弹丸脐下贴，须臾子母便分张。
催生如圣散（产宝） 用黄蜀葵子（不拘多少炒）
上为细末，每服二钱，热酒调下。如不饮酒，热汤调亦可。或以蜀葵花焙干，热酒调下一钱，亦效。
诗曰∶黄葵子炒百余粒，研烂酒调济窘急，若还临危难产时，免得全家俱哭泣。
香桂散（产宝） 下死胎。
射香（半钱，另研） 官桂（三钱，为末）
上件和匀，作一服，温酒调下，须臾即下。
来苏散 治孕妇欲产未产之时，忽然晕闷，不省人事。
木香（不见火） 神曲（炒） 陈皮（去白） 麦 （炒） 黄 （去芦）
生姜（切碎，炒黑） 阿胶（炒成珠） 白芍药（各半钱） 糯米（半合） 苎根（一钱） 甘草（三分）
上细切，作一服，水一盏半，煎至一盏，去渣， 开口灌下。未醒，再煎一服，连接灌之，即苏。
霹雳夺命丹（产宝） 治临产未产之时，目翻口噤，面黑唇青，口
中沃沫，子母俱殒，命在须臾，若两脸微红，子死母活，急用此药救之。
蛇蜕（一条，瓶中 ） 千里马（路上左足草鞋一只，烧灰，一钱） 金银箔（各
七片） 发灰（一钱） 蚕蜕纸（烧灰一钱） 乳香（五钱另研） 黑铅（一钱半，用水银七分半，炒成砂）
上共为细末，以 猪心血和丸，如梧桐子大，每服二丸，倒流水送下。如灌不下，化开灌之。……。
无忧散（产宝） 治分娩难产，及胞衣不下等证。孕妇临月，预
服此药，日进二服，则子易生而胞易落也。
当归（酒洗） 川芎 白芍药（各七分） 木香（不见火） 甘草（各五分）
枳壳（麸炒黄色） 乳香（各一钱） 血余灰（四分）
上为细末，分作二服，水一盏，煎八分，滤去渣，温服，不拘时。
催生夺命如神丹（产宝）
牡丹皮 枳壳（麸炒） 赤芍药（各一钱） 蛇蜕（二钱） 青皮 阿胶珠
甘草（炙） 五加皮 芸台子 贯众 马鸣蜕（炙焦，各半钱） 花蕊石（火 ，半钱） 乳香（一钱，另研）
上为细末，炼蜜丸如弹子大，临产细嚼一丸，枣汤送下，未产小顷，又嚼一丸，以产为度。
芎归汤（一名佛手散，良方） 治妊娠因事跌仆，子死腹中，恶露妄
下，疼痛不已，口噤欲绝。用此药探之，若子死腹中，立便遂下，若
腹痛随止，子母俱安。又治临产难生，胞衣不下，及产后血晕，不省
人事，状如中风，血崩恶露不止，腹中血刺 痛，血滞浮肿，入心经，
语言颠倒，……血风相搏，身热头痛，或似疟非疟，一切胎前产后危急野狼狈垂死等证，并皆治之。
当归（酒洗去芦，一两） 川芎（七钱）
上细切，分作四服，每服用水一盏，煎水将干，投酒一盏半，煎
五七沸，温服。如口噤， 开灌之，如人行五里许，再灌，尽此四服便省，立产神验。
夺命丹（产宝） 治胞衣不下。盖儿之初生，恶血流入衣中，衣
为血所胀塞，故不得下，须臾冲上逼心即死，急服此药。
黑附子（半两，炒） 牡丹皮（一两） 干漆（二钱半，研细，炒烟尽为度）
上为细末，用米醋一升，大黄末一两，同煮成膏，和前药末为丸，如梧桐子大，每服五七丸，温酒下。
黑龙丹（产宝） 治难产及胞衣不下，血迷血晕等证。
当归 五灵脂 川芎 良姜 生地黄（以上各二钱，细切，入鸡子壳
内，纸筋盐泥固济，火 ，入后药。） 百草霜（一两） 硫黄 乳香（各二钱） 琥珀 花蕊石（各一钱）
上件连前药共为细末，酒米糊为丸，如弹子大。如用时，将一
二丸仍用火 红为末，以童子小便合酒调灌下，垂死者灌三四丸即活，其功不可尽述。
一方（产宝） 治胞衣不下。
川牛膝（二钱） 当归（一钱半） 木通（三钱） 滑石（四钱半） 黄葵子（二钱半）
上用水煎，连进三四服，立下。
枳壳散（局方） 妊娠八、九个月内，胎气壅满，常宜服之，滑胎易产，安和子脏，益血舒气。
枳壳（五两，麸炒黄色） 粉甘草（炙，一两半） 香附子（一两，炒）
上为细末，每服二钱，空心沸汤点服，日进三服。一方加糯米
炒同为末，白汤点服。令儿易产，初生胎气微黑，百日后肥白，此为
古方之冠。若妊妇稍弱者，单衣恐胎寒腹痛，胎弱多惊，于内加当
归一两，木香半两不见火，如此用之，则阳不致强，阴不致弱，二气
调和，有益胎嗣。
自妊娠初得，以至临月，药石禁忌歌（产宝）
歌曰∶ 斑水蛭及虻虫，乌头附子与天雄，野葛水银并巴豆，
牛膝薏苡连蜈蚣，三棱代赭芫花射，大戟蛇蜕黄雌雄，牙硝芒硝牡
丹桂，槐花牵牛皂角同。半夏南星与通草，瞿麦干姜蟹甲爪， 砂干漆兼桃仁，地胆茅根莫用好。
饮食禁忌（局方）
鸡肉合糯米食，令子生寸白虫。食犬肉，令子无声。鱼鲤同鸡子食，令子生疳蚀疮。食兔肉，令子缺唇。食羊肝，
令子多厄难。食鳖肉，令子项短缩头。鸭子与桑椹同食，令子倒生心寒。鲜鱼同田鸡食，令子喑哑。雀肉同豆酱食，令
子面生雀卵斑点。……。食冰浆，令绝产。……。食茨菇，消胎气。食驴马肉，过月难产。豆酱合霍菜食，堕胎。
食山羊肉，令子多病。食鳅鳝无鳞鱼，难产。食诸般菌，生子惊风而夭。食雀脑，令子患雀目。勿妄服汤药，勿妄乱针
灸，勿过饮酒浆，勿举重登高陟险，心有大惊，子必癫痫。勿多睡卧，须时时少步动，和血脉。勿劳力过伤，使肾气不
足，子必解颅，脑破不合。衣毋太温，食毋太饱，若脾胃不和，荣卫虚损，子必羸瘦多病，戒之戒之！
临产须知（外录）
一、临月不可洗头，以免横生逆产。
一、怀妊十月已满，阴阳气足，忽然脐腹阵痛，胎孕偏陷，腰间
重胀，谷道挺进，浆水淋下，其儿遂生，此乃正产。若当生自有其时，如瓜熟蒂悬，栗熟自落之类。
一、凡临产宜择年高有识稳婆及纯谨妇人三四人扶持，一应外
来闲杂之人，丧服秽浊之妇，预宜杜绝，勿令触犯胎气，致产不利。产后客气犯儿，亦主伤害。
一、凡临产，房中不得喧闹，宜紧闭门户，静以待生。
一、岁月满足，方觉腹痛，不可惊动太早，早则举家霍乱，卜筮问神巫觋之流，称说鬼神，多方哄吓谋利，产妇闻
之恐怖。夫恐则气怯，气怯则上焦闭，下焦胀，气乃不行，以致难产。如犯此，急宜服紫苏饮，以宽其气。
一、凡临月忽然腹痛，或作或止，或一日、二日、三五日，胎水已来，腹痛不密者，名曰弄痛，非当产也。又有一
月前，忽然腹痛，如欲便产，却又不产者，名曰试月，非当产也。不问胎水来与不来，俱不妨事，但当宽心候时。若果
当产时，腰腹痛极不已，谷道挺进，眼中火出，其时便产，岂有或痛不痛、欲产不产之候耶？人多于此、胡行乱做，枉
了性命，可不慎欤！
一、凡初觉腹痛而腰不甚痛者，未产也，且扶行熟忍，若行不得，则凭物而立，行得又行。
一、世人不识，但见腹痛才作，便谓生产。坐婆疏狂者，不候时
至，便言试水，试水并胞浆先破，风入产户，以致肿胀，门户狭小，干涩难产。
一、将产之时，产母甚痛，不肯舒伸，行动固执，曲腰眠睡，胎元
转动，寻到生门，已破遮闭，又转又寻再三，胎已无力，决至难产。
一、初觉不痛，且当任意坐卧，勉强饮食，毋致临产乏力。
一、凡产母初觉欲生，便须惜力调养，不可妄乱用力。儿身方
转，便被用力一逼，令儿错路，以致横逆。须待临到产门，用力一
逼，儿即下生，此所当用力也。譬如登厕，时候未至，用力何益。
一、凡产母知觉心中愤闷，可取白蜜一匙，温水调服。
一、产母如觉饥饿，可进以软白粥，不令饥渴，以致乏力。亦不可食硬饭 粽，恐产后有伤食之病。
一、未产之先，或烦渴欲饮水，只可与清米饮饮之为佳。
一、凡产不可服催生符水，况血得寒即凝，血一凝则胎滞而反
致难产。夫催生符水，盖是野道士求食谋利之设，有何益哉。
一、凡产妇胞浆未下，但当稳守无妨，胞浆既破，一二时后不
生，盒饭服催生药要紧。夫胞浆者，本胞内养儿之水也。儿既拆
胞，其水既下，胎随水而下，则为易生。胎元无力，转头迟慢，浆下
即血来，闭塞道路，令子无路可通，故难产也。如用蜀葵子等破血之药，逐去恶血，使儿得路而生，故曰催生药也。
（一）凡催生多用滑利迅速之药，如兔脑、笔头灰、 牙、蛇蜕之类是也。
（二）凡催生，若见水血先下，子道干涩不能下者，如猪脂、油、蜜、酒、葱白、葵子、牛乳、榆白皮、滑石之类
是也。
（三）凡催生，若稽停劳力之久，风冷乘虚入于子官，使气血凝滞而难产者，如牛膝、葱、桂、五积散、顺元散之
类。
（四）凡催生，有触犯恶气，心烦躁闷难产者，如麝香、朱砂、乳香、青竹茹之类。
夫产育之难者，皆由产妇不会预闻讲说生育道理，临事仓惶，用力失宜，遂有难产之危。是故有逆产者，则先露足，
有横生者，则先露手，坐产者，则先露其臀，此皆用力太早之过。夫当脐腹疼痛之初，儿身才转而未顺，用力一逼，遂
致横逆。若手足先露者，用细针刺儿手足心一、二分深，三、四刺之，以盐涂其上，轻轻送入，儿得痛惊转一缩，即顺
生之矣。或儿脚先下者，谓之蹈莲花生，急以盐涂儿脚底，又可急搔之，并以盐摩母腹上，则正生矣。
灸法∶治难产及胞衣不下。
急于产母右脚小指尖头上灸三壮，炷如小麦大，立产。
凡横倒难产，用蛇蜕一条全者，蚕蜕纸一张。
上以二物入新瓷瓶中，盐泥固济，烧存性为末，煎榆白皮汤，入乳香同调服下，则顺生。
又方 治横生先露手足。
阿胶（炒） 滑石（一两） 冬葵子（一合） 酥油（一两）
每服四钱，水一大盏，煎至七分，连进二三服。
又方 治横逆不顺，子死腹中用。
伏龙肝（灶心红土也）
上为细末，温酒调下一、二钱，……甚验。
碍产（良方）
凡儿身已顺，门户俱正，儿已露顶而不能生，此因儿身回转，肚带攀住儿肩，不能下也。治法急令产母仰卧，轻轻
推儿向上，徐徐引手，以中指按儿肩，下其脐带，仍须候儿身正顺，令产母用力一送，儿即下生。又法∶令稳婆款款分
开脐带，外将纸拈（原书此处有脱文）。
凡儿身向未顺，生路未正、被产母用力一逼，令儿偏生，或左腿，或右腿，或臀，或左右额角，虽儿身已逼产门而
不能下，但云儿已露顶，非顶也。治法当令产母仰卧，看生人轻轻推儿近上，以手正其头，用力一逼即下。若是头之后
骨偏拄谷道，儿则露额，当令看生人以绵衣炙令温暖裹手，急于谷道外傍，轻轻推儿头令正，然后用力一送，儿即下生，
此名偏产。
治盘肠产法（良方） 有临产则子肠先出，甚可惊恐。治法以盆盛温水，温润其肠。令产母仰卧，且以言语安
慰其心。却用好米醋半盏，和新汲水七分搅匀，忽 产母面或背，则打顿而收。每一 令一缩，三 三缩，肠则尽收矣。
合用参、 、归、芎等大剂补药，加升、柴、防风之类以升举之，未有不安者也。又法∶急以萆麻子去壳研细，贴产母
囟顶上，即收。
砂仁。有时在方剂中额外加入枳壳、砂仁。（治疗胎动不安时）加金银花三至五钱，野苎麻根一钱。（若感觉气向上冲逼心脏，）加紫苏、地黄。（孕妇）性情急躁，加柴胡。（孕妇）多忧愁，加黄芩辅助。（食欲）减退，加砂仁、神曲。（感到）口渴，加麦门冬、黄芩。（食欲旺盛者，）加倍增加黄杨脑（此物能使胎儿瘦小而不致过大）。体内有痰，加半夏、黄芩。
临产前用于养胎的方剂（丹溪方）
当归 川芎 黄芩 陈皮 白术 香附（各一钱） 白芷（半钱） 甘草（二分）
将上述药材细细切碎，用水煎煮，调入益元散一钱服用。体质虚弱者，加人参七分。
催生散（丹溪方）
白芷（炒至焦黑） 百草霜 白滑石（各等分）
将上述药材研成细末，用芎归汤调服二至三钱。
红苋菜和马齿苋都能导致堕胎，孕妇务必忌讳。临产时用来催生，煮食也有效。（丹溪方）
难产大多是因为气血虚弱，也有因为气血凝滞而不能运转的，还有因为怀孕八、九个月内不能节制房事的。（丹溪方）
难产多见于生活安逸、心情郁闷的人，以及富贵人家奉养过度的妇女，贫贱之人则没有这种情况。古方中的“瘦胎饮”，本是专门为湖阳公主制定的，大概是因为她奉养丰厚而气实，所以用这个方子来耗损其气，使气血平和从而容易生产罢了，这并不是最精辟的理论。（丹溪方）
金匮当归散（张仲景方） 具有安胎、养血、清热的功效，孕妇时常适宜服用。
当归 川芎 芍药 白术 条芩（各等分）
将上述药材研成细末，每次服用二钱，用温酒或温水调服。
金液丸（良方） 治疗横生倒产。
飞生毛（火烧，腋下的毛尤其好） 血余（无病女人的头发，烧成灰） 公母羊粪（以上各半钱，烧成灰） 伏龙肝（一钱） 黑铅（三钱，用小锅在火上熔化，投入水银半钱，快速搅拌，结成砂状，倒出后细细研磨）。
将上述药材研成细末，用粽子尖做成丸子，大小如绿豆，遇到难产时，用顺流水送服五丸，胎儿身体自然顺正而正常生产，母子都能存活。
催生铅丹（良方） 治疗横生逆产。
如神丹 治疗难产。
用巴豆三枚，蓖麻子七枚（各去壳），研碎后加入少许麝香，捏成饼状贴在肚脐上。
诗曰：巴豆三枚蓖麻七，脱去衣裳，细细研磨如泥状加入麝香，捏成弹丸大小的药饼贴在脐下，片刻之间母子便分离出生。
催生如圣散（《产宝》方） 使用黄蜀葵子（不拘多少，炒制）
将上述药材研成细末，每次服用二钱，用热酒调服。如果不饮酒，用热水调服也可以。或者将蜀葵花焙干，用热酒调服一钱，也有效。
诗曰：黄葵子炒百余粒，研磨烂后用酒调服以解急迫，如果到了临产危难之时，可免去全家哭泣的悲剧。
香桂散（《产宝》方） 排出死胎。
麝香（半钱，单独研磨） 官桂（三钱，研成末）
将上述药物混合均匀，作为一服药量，用温酒调服，片刻之后即可排出。
来苏散 治疗孕妇即将分娩或尚未分娩时，突然晕厥闷乱，不省人事。
木香（不经过火烤） 神曲（炒制） 陈皮（去白） 麦门冬（炒制） 黄芪（去芦头）
生姜（切碎，炒黑） 阿胶（炒成珠状） 白芍药（各半钱） 糯米（半合） 苎麻根（一钱） 甘草（三分）
将上述药材细细切碎，作为一服药量，用水一盏半，煎至一盏，去渣，张开嘴灌下。如果未苏醒，再煎一服药，连续灌服，即可苏醒。
霹雳夺命丹（《产宝》方） 治疗临产或未产之时，眼睛上翻，牙关紧闭，面色发黑，嘴唇青紫，口中流涎沫，母子俱亡，性命垂危之际；如果两脸微红，则是子死母活，急需使用此药抢救。
蛇蜕（一条，放在瓶中密封） 千里马（路上左脚穿的草鞋一只，烧成灰，一钱） 金银箔（各七片） 发灰（一钱） 蚕蜕纸（烧成灰一钱） 乳香（五钱，单独研磨） 黑铅（一钱半，用水银七分半，炒制成砂状）
将上述药物共同研成细末，用猪心血和丸，大小如梧桐子，每次服用二丸，用倒流水送服。如果无法灌服，化开后灌入。……。
无忧散（《产宝》方） 治疗分娩难产，以及胞衣不下等症状。孕妇临近预产期，预先服用此药，每天进服两次，则胎儿容易出生且胞衣容易脱落。
当归（酒洗） 川芎 白芍药（各七分） 木香（不经过火烤） 甘草（各五分）
枳壳（麸炒至黄色） 乳香（各一钱） 血余灰（四分）
将上述药材研成细末，分成两份服用，用水一盏，煎至八分，滤去渣，温服，不限时间。
催生夺命如神丹（《产宝》方）
牡丹皮 枳壳（麸炒） 赤芍药（各一钱） 蛇蜕（二钱） 青皮 阿胶珠
甘草（炙） 五加皮 芸苔子（油菜籽） 贯众 马鸣蜕（炙焦，各半钱） 花蕊石（火煅，半钱） 乳香（一钱，单独研磨）
将上述药材研成细末，用炼蜜做成如弹子大的丸子，临产时细嚼一丸，用枣汤送服；尚未生产前一小会儿，又嚼一丸，以生产为度。
芎归汤（又名佛手散，良方） 治疗妊娠期间因意外跌仆，导致子死腹中，恶露妄行不止，疼痛不已，牙关紧闭，气息微弱欲绝。使用此药试探，如果子死腹中，立刻就会排出；如果腹痛随即停止，则母子平安。又治疗临产难生，胞衣不下，以及产后血晕，不省人事，症状像中风，血崩恶露不止，腹中刺痛，血滞浮肿，邪入心经，言语错乱，……。血风相搏，身热头痛，或像疟疾非疟疾，一切胎前产后危急狼狈垂死等证，都加以治疗。
当归（酒洗去芦头，一两） 川芎（七钱）
将上述药材细细切碎，分成四份服用，每份用水一盏，煎至水将干时，投入酒一盏半，煎煮五到七沸，温服。如果牙关紧闭，撬开嘴灌服，如人行走五里路的时间后，再灌服，服完这四份即可清醒，立即生产，神效验证。
夺命丹（《产宝》方） 治疗胞衣不下。大概婴儿刚出生，恶血流入胞衣中，胞衣被血液胀塞，所以不能排出，片刻之后冲上逼迫心脏即会死亡，急需服用此药。
黑附子（半两，炒制） 牡丹皮（一两） 干漆（二钱半，研细，炒至烟尽为止）
将上述药材研成细末，用米醋一升，大黄末一两，同煮成膏，与前药末混合做成丸子，大小如梧桐子，每次服用五至七丸，用温酒送下。
黑龙丹（《产宝》方） 治疗难产及胞衣不下，血迷血晕等症状。
当归 五灵脂 川芎 良姜 生地黄（以上各二钱，细细切碎，放入鸡蛋壳内，用纸筋盐泥封固，火煅，加入以下药物。） 百草霜（一两） 硫黄 乳香（各二钱） 琥珀 花蕊石（各一钱）
将上述药物连同前面的药物共同研成细末，用酒米糊做成丸子，大小如弹子。使用时，取一二丸再次用火煅红研成末，用童子小便合酒调匀灌服，垂死者灌服三四丸即可复活，其功效不可尽述。
一方（《产宝》方） 治疗胞衣不下。
川牛膝（二钱） 当归（一钱半） 木通（三钱） 滑石（四钱半） 黄葵子（二钱半）
用水煎煮，连续进服三至四次，立刻排出。
枳壳散（《局方》方） 妊娠八、九个月内，胎气壅满，常宜服用此方，可使胎儿滑利易产，安和子宫，补血舒气。
枳壳（五两，麸炒至黄色） 粉甘草（炙，一两半） 香附子（一两，炒制）
将上述药材研成细末，每次服用二钱，空腹时用沸水冲服，每天进服三次。另一方加糯米炒同为末，用白开水冲服。令胎儿容易生产，初生时胎气微黑，百日后变得肥白，这是古方中的佼佼者。如果孕妇稍体弱，单穿薄衣恐怕会导致胎寒腹痛，胎弱多惊，在此方中加入当归一两，木香半两不经过火烤，这样使用，则阳气不至于过强，阴气不至于过弱，阴阳二气调和，有益于胎儿。
自妊娠初得，以至临月，药石禁忌歌（《产宝》方）
歌曰：斑蝥、水蛭及虻虫，乌头、附子与天雄，野葛、水银并巴豆，
牛膝、薏苡连蜈蚣，三棱、代赭、芫花、射干，大戟、蛇蜕、黄雌鸡、雄鸡，牙硝、芒硝、牡丹、肉桂，槐花、牵牛、皂角同。半夏、南星与通草，瞿麦、干姜、蟹甲爪，硇砂、干漆兼桃仁，地胆、茅根莫用好。

吃山羊肉，令孩子多病。吃鳅鳝无鳞鱼，难产。吃各种菌类，生子患惊风而夭折。吃雀脑，令孩子患雀目。不要胡乱服用汤药，不要胡乱针灸，不要过量饮酒浆，不要举重登高涉险，心中大惊，孩子必患癫痫。不要多睡卧，须时时少量步行活动，调和血脉。不要过度劳累伤身，使肾气不足，孩子必患解颅，脑破不合。衣服不要太暖，食物不要太饱，如果脾胃不和，营卫虚损，孩子必羸瘦多病，切记切记！
临产须知（外录）
一、临近预产期不可洗头，以免发生横生逆产。
一、怀孕十月已满，阴阳气足，忽然脐腹阵痛，胎孕偏陷，腰间重胀，肛门挺进，羊水淋下，胎儿遂生，这是正产。如果正当生产自有其时机，就像瓜熟蒂落，栗子成熟自然掉落一样。
一、凡是临产应选择年高有见识的稳婆及纯朴谨慎的妇人三四人扶持，一应外来闲杂之人，丧服秽浊之妇，预先应当杜绝，勿令触犯胎气，导致生产不利。产后客气侵犯婴儿，也主伤害。
一、凡是临产，房内不得喧闹，宜紧闭门户，安静等待生产。
一、岁月满足，方才觉得腹痛，不可惊动太早，早则全家慌乱，卜筮问神巫觋之流，称说鬼神，多方恐吓谋利，产妇听闻后恐怖。恐惧则气怯，气怯则上焦闭塞，下焦胀满，气乃不行，以致难产。如果犯了此忌，急宜服用紫苏饮，以宽其气。
一、凡是临近预产期忽然腹痛，或作或止，或一日、二日、三五日，胎水已来，腹痛不密集者，名叫弄痛，并非当产。又有一个月前，忽然腹痛，如欲便产，却又不产者，名叫试月，并非当产。不问胎水来与不来，都不妨碍事，只当宽心等候时机。如果果真是当产之时，腰腹痛极不已，肛门挺进，眼中火出，此时便产，岂会有或痛不痛、欲产不产的征候呢？人们多在此时胡行乱做，枉了性命，可不慎重吗！
一、凡是初觉腹痛而腰不甚痛者，未产也，暂且扶行熟忍，如果行走不得，则凭靠物体站立，行得动又继续行走。
一、世人不识，但见腹痛才作，便谓生产。坐婆疏狂者，不候时至，便言试水，试水并胞浆先破，风入产户，以致肿胀，门户狭小，干涩难产。
一、将产之时，产母甚痛，不肯舒伸，行动固执，曲腰眠睡，胎元转动，寻到生门，已破遮闭，又转又寻再三，胎已无力，决至难产。
一、初觉不痛，且当任意坐卧，勉强饮食，毋致临产乏力。
一、凡是产母初觉欲生，便须惜力调养，不可妄乱用力。儿身方转，便被用力一逼，令儿错路，以致横逆。须待临到产门，用力一逼，儿即下生，此所当用力也。譬如登厕，时候未至，用力何益。
一、凡是产母知觉心中愤闷，可取白蜜一匙，温水调服。
一、产母如觉饥饿，可进以软白粥，不令饥渴，以致乏力。亦不可食硬饭粽，恐产后有伤食之病。
一、未产之前，或烦渴欲饮水，只可与清米饮饮之为佳。
一、凡是生产不可服催生符水，何况血得寒即凝，血一凝则胎滞而反致难产。夫催生符水，盖是野道士求食谋利之设，有何益哉。
一、凡是产妇胞浆未下，但当稳守无妨，胞浆既破，一二时后不生，必须服催生药要紧。夫胞浆者，本胞内养儿之水也。儿既拆胞，其水既下，胎随水而下，则为易生。胎元无力，转头迟慢，浆下即血来，闭塞道路，令子无路可通，故难产也。如用蜀葵子等破血之药，逐去恶血，使儿得路而生，故曰催生药也。
（一）凡催生多用滑利迅速之药，如兔脑、笔头灰、硇砂、蛇蜕之类是也。
（二）凡催生，若见水血先下，子道干涩不能下者，如猪脂、油、蜜、酒、葱白、葵子、牛乳、榆白皮、滑石之类是也。
（三）凡催生，若稽停劳力之久，风冷乘虚入于子宫，使气血凝滞而难产者，如牛膝、葱、桂、五积散、顺元散之类。
（四）凡催生，有触犯恶气，心烦躁闷难产者，如麝香、朱砂、乳香、青竹茹之类。
夫产育之难者，皆由产妇不会预闻讲说生育道理，临事仓惶，用力失宜，遂有难产之危。是故有逆产者，则先露足，有横生者，则先露手，坐产者，则先露其臀，此皆用力太早之过。夫当脐腹疼痛之初，儿身才转而未顺，用力一逼，遂致横逆。若手足先露者，用细针刺儿手足心一、二分深，三、四刺之，以盐涂其上，轻轻送入，儿得痛惊转一缩，即顺生之矣。或儿脚先下者，谓之蹈莲花生，急以盐涂儿脚底，又可急搔之，并以盐摩母腹上，则正生矣。
灸法：治疗难产及胞衣不下。
急于产母右脚小指尖头上灸三壮，艾炷如小麦大，立产。
凡横倒难产，用蛇蜕一条全者，蚕蜕纸一张。
上将二物入新瓷瓶中，盐泥固济，烧存性为末，煎榆白皮汤，入乳香同调服下，则顺生。
又方 治疗横生先露手足。
阿胶（炒） 滑石（一两） 冬葵子（一合） 酥油（一两）
每服四钱，水一大盏，煎至七分，连进二三服。
又方 治疗横逆不顺，子死腹中用。
伏龙肝（灶心红土也）
上将细末，温酒调下一、二钱，……甚验。
碍产（良方）
凡是儿身已顺，门户俱正，儿已露顶而不能生，此因儿身回转，肚带攀住儿肩，不能下也。治法急令产母仰卧，轻轻推儿向上，徐徐引手，以中指按儿肩，下其脐带，仍须候儿身正顺，令产母用力一送，儿即下生。又法：令稳婆款款分开脐带，外将纸拈（原书此处有脱文）。
凡是儿身向未顺，生路未正、被产母用力一逼，令儿偏生，或左腿，或右腿，或臀，或左右额角，虽儿身已逼产门而不能下，但云儿已露顶，非顶也。治法当令产母仰卧，看生人轻轻推儿近上，以手正其头，用力一逼即下。若是头之后骨偏拄谷道，儿则露额，当令看生人以绵衣炙令温暖裹手，急于谷道外傍，轻轻推儿头令正，然后用力一送，儿即下生，此名偏产。
治盘肠产法（良方） 有临产则子肠先出，甚可惊恐。治法以盆盛温水，温润其肠。令产母仰卧，且以言语安慰其心。却用好米醋半盏，和新汲水七分搅匀，忽喷产母面或背，则打顿而收。每一喷令一缩，三喷三缩，肠则尽收矣。合用参、芪、归、芎等大剂补药，加升麻、柴胡、防风之类以升举之，未有不安者也。又法：急以蓖麻子去壳研细，贴产母囟顶上，即收。
Amomum fruit. Sometimes additional Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange) and Amomum fruit are added. For restless fetus, add Jinyinhua (Honeysuckle) three to five qian, Yezhumagen (Wild Ramie Root) one qian. If Qi rushes up to press against the heart, add Zisu (Perilla Leaf) and Dihuang (Rehmannia Root). If irritable, add Chaihu (Bupleurum Root). If prone to sorrow, add Huangqin (Scutellaria Root) to assist. If poor appetite, add Amomum fruit and Shenqu (Medicated Leaven). If thirsty, add Maimendong (Ophiopogon Tuber) and Huangqin (Scutellaria Root). If good appetite, double the amount of Huayangnao (Yang Brain); this substance can keep the fetus lean without overgrowth. If phlegm is present, add Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) and Huangqin (Scutellaria Root).
Formula for Nourishing the Fetus before Delivery (Danxi Formula)
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong), Huangqin (Scutellaria Baicalensis), Chenpi (Tangerine Peel), Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala), Xiangfu (Cyperus Rotundus) (each 1 qian), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica) (0.5 qian), Gancao (Licorice Root) (0.2 qian).
Finely chop the above ingredients, decoct in water, and mix with Yi Yuan San (Beneficial Prime Powder) 1 qian to take. For deficiency cases, add Renshen (Ginseng Root) 0.7 qian.
Labor-Inducing Powder (Danxi Formula)
Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica) (stir-fried until charred black), Baicaoshuang (Soot from Chimney), Baihuashi (White Talcum) (equal parts).
Grind into fine powder, decoct Xionggui Tang (Ligusticum and Angelica Decoction) to mix and take 2–3 qian.
Red Amaranth and Purslane both can induce abortion; pregnant women must strictly avoid them. To induce labor at term, boiling and eating them is also effective. (Danxi Formula)
Difficult labor is mostly due to Qi and Blood deficiency, or it may be caused by Qi and Blood stagnation preventing movement, or by failure to abstain from sexual intercourse during the eighth or ninth month of pregnancy. (Danxi Formula)
Difficult labor is more common in people who are idle and depressed, and in women of wealthy families who are overly nourished; it is rarely seen in those of humble status. The ancient formula "Shoutai Yin" (Thin-Fetus Decoction) was originally designed for Princess Huyang, likely because her nourishment was rich and her Qi was excessive, so this formula was used to dissipate her Qi, making Qi and Blood harmonious and delivery easier; this is not considered the ultimate theory. Jingui Danggui San (Zhang Zhongjing Formula) Has the effects of calming the fetus, nourishing Blood, and clearing Heat; it is suitable for pregnant women to take regularly.
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala), Tiaoqin (Scutellaria Baicalensis) (equal parts).
Grind into fine powder, take 2 qian each time, mixed with warm wine or water.
Jinye Wan (Golden Liquid Pill) (Good Prescription) Treats transverse or breech presentation.
Feishengmao (Burnt hair, armpit hair is best), Xueyu (Hair ash from a healthy woman), Gongmu Yangfen (Male and female sheep dung) (above each 0.5 qian, burnt to ash), Fulonggan (Dragon's House Soil / Hearth Earth) (1 qian), Qian (Lead) (3 qian, melt in a small pot over fire, add Shuiyin (Mercury) 0.5 qian, stir quickly until it forms granules, pour out and grind finely).
Grind into fine powder, make pills using the tip of a zongzi (sticky rice dumpling) wrapper, size of mung beans. In case of difficult labor, send down five pills with smooth-flowing water; the fetal body will naturally turn straight and deliver normally, saving both mother and child.
Cuisheng Qiandan (Labor-Inducing Lead Cinnabar) (Good Prescription) Treats transverse or malpresentation.
Rushen Dan (Miracle Pill) Treats difficult labor.
Use Badou (Croton Seed) three seeds, Bimazi (Castor Bean) seven seeds (shelled each), grind together, add a little Shexiang (Musk), knead into cake shape and apply to the navel.
Poem says: Three Badou and seven Bimazi, remove clothes, grind finely like mud adding Musk, knead into pellet size paste below navel, in an instant mother and child separate.
Cuisheng Rusheng San (Labor-Inducing Like Sage Powder) (Chanbao Formula) Use Huangshukui Zi (Yellow Hibiscus Seed) (any amount, stir-fried).
Grind into fine powder, take 2 qian each time, mixed with hot wine. If unable to drink alcohol, mixing with hot water is also acceptable. Or bake Shukuihua (Yellow Hibiscus Flower) dry, mix with hot wine 1 qian to take, also effective.
Poem says: Stir-fry over hundred yellow hibiscus seeds, grind rotten and mix with wine to relieve urgency, if facing dangerous difficult labor time, spare the whole family from weeping.
Xianggui San (Fragrant Cinnamon Powder) (Chanbao Formula) Expels dead fetus.
Shexiang (Musk) (0.5 qian, separately ground), Guanzi Gui (Cassia Bark) (3 qian, made into powder).
Mix the above evenly, as one dose, mix with warm wine to take, expelled within moments.
Laisu San To treat pregnant women who suddenly faint and lose consciousness when about to deliver or before delivery.
Muxiang (Aucklandia Root) (not roasted), Shenqu (Medicated Leaven) (stir-fried), Chenpi (Tangerine Peel) (white pith removed), Maimendong (Ophiopogon Tuber) (stir-fried), Huangqi (Astragalus Root) (aerial part removed), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) (chopped, stir-fried black), Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) (stir-fried into beads), Baishaoyao (White Peony Root) (each 0.5 qian), Nuomi (Glutinous Rice) (0.5 he), Zhugen (Ramie Root) (1 qian), Gancao (Licorice Root) (0.3 qian).
Finely chop, as one dose, decoct in 1.5 cups of water until reduced to 1 cup, remove dregs, open mouth and pour down. If not awake, decoct another dose, continuously pour, then revive.
Pili Duoming Dan (Thunderbolt Life-Snatching Pill) (Chanbao Formula) Treats when eyes roll back, jaw clenched, face black, lips cyanotic, foaming at mouth during labor or before labor, where both mother and child perish, life hanging by a thread; if cheeks are slightly red, the child is dead but mother lives, urgently use this medicine to save.
Shetui (Snake Skin) (one strip, sealed in bottle), Qianlima (Left straw sandal from road, burnt to ash, 1 qian), JinYinBo (Gold and Silver Foil) (each seven pieces), Fa Hui (Hair Ash) (1 qian), Can Tui Zhi (Silkworm Molting Paper) (burnt to ash 1 qian), Ruxiang (Frankincense) (5 qian, separately ground), Qian (Lead) (1.5 qian, with Shuiyin (Mercury) 0.75 qian, stir-fried into sand).
Grind all into fine powder, mix with Zhu Xin Xue (Pig Heart Blood) to make pills, size of Sophora seeds. Take two pills each time, send down with inverted flowing water. If cannot swallow, dissolve and pour in. ...
Wuyou San (Carefree Powder) (Chanbao Formula) Treats difficult labor and retained placenta. Pregnant women should take this medicine in advance near term, twice daily, so the child is easy to birth and placenta easy to fall.
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) (wine-washed), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong), Baishaoyao (White Peony Root) (each 0.7 qian), Muxiang (Aucklandia Root) (not roasted), Gancao (Licorice Root) (each 0.5 qian), Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange) (bran-stir-fried yellow), Ruxiang (Frankincense) (each 1 qian), Xueyu Hui (Hair Ash) (0.4 qian).
Grind into fine powder, divide into two doses, decoct in 1 cup of water until 0.8 cup remains, filter dregs, take warm, anytime.
Cuisheng Duoming Rushen Dan (Labor-Inducing Life-Snatching Miracle Pill) (Chanbao Formula)
Mudanpi (Tree Peony Bark), Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange) (bran-stir-fried), Chi Shaoyao (Red Peony Root) (each 1 qian), Shetui (Snake Skin) (2 qian), Qingpi (Green Tangerine Peel), Ejiao Zhu (Donkey-hide Gelatin Beads), Gancao (Licorice Root) (roasted), Wujia Pi (Eleutherococcus Bark), Yuntaizi (Rapeseed), Guanzhong (Cyathula Root), Ma Ming Tui (Horse Molting Skin) (roasted charred, each 0.5 qian), Hua Ruishi (Flower Porphyry Stone) (fire-calcined, 0.5 qian), Ruxiang (Frankincense) (1 qian, separately ground).
Grind into fine powder, refine honey to make pills size of marbles. At labor, chew one pill slowly, send down with jujube soup; shortly before labor, chew another pill, stop when delivered.
Xionggui Tang (Also known as Foshou San, Good Prescription) Treats pregnancy due to falling, child dead in abdomen, lochia flowing excessively, unceasing pain, jaw clenched, breath nearly gone. Use this medicine to probe; if child dead in abdomen, it will immediately pass; if abdominal pain stops, mother and child are safe. Also treats difficult labor at term, retained placenta, postpartum blood vertigo, loss of consciousness, symptoms like wind-stroke, metrorrhagia and lochia unceasing, stabbing pain in abdomen, blood stasis edema, pathogen entering Heart Meridian, speech confusion, ... Blood-Wind fighting, fever headache, or malaria-like, all critical pre- and post-partum desperate dying conditions, all treated.
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) (wine-washed, aerial part removed, 1 liang), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong) (7 qian).
Finely chop, divide into four doses. Each dose decoct in 1 cup water until nearly dry, add 1.5 cups wine, boil 5-7 times, take warm. If jaw clenched, pry open and pour in; after walking distance of five li, pour again. Finish these four doses to regain consciousness, immediate delivery, divine efficacy verified.
Duoming Dan (Life-Snatching Pill) (Chanbao Formula) Treats retained placenta. When baby is born, evil blood flows into placenta, placenta distended and blocked by blood, thus cannot come down; within moments rushing up to press heart leads to death, urgently take this medicine.
Hei Fuzi (Black Aconite Root) (half liang, stir-fried), Mudanpi (Tree Peony Bark) (1 liang), Ganxi (Dry Lacquer) (2.5 qian, finely ground, stir-fried until smoke ceases).
Grind into fine powder, cook with 1 sheng rice vinegar and 1 liang Dahuang (Rhubarb Root) powder into paste, mix with above powder to make pills, size of Sophora seeds. Take 5-7 pills each time, send down with warm wine.
Heilong Dan (Black Dragon Pill) (Chanbao Formula) Treats difficult labor, retained placenta, blood confusion and vertigo.
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Wulingzhi (Trogopterus Dung), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong), Liangjiang (Galangal Rhizome), Shengdihuang (Rehmannia Root) (above each 2 qian, finely chopped, put inside chicken egg shell, seal with paper筋 salt mud, fire-calcined, add following medicines.) Baicaoshuang (Soot from Chimney) (1 liang), Liu Huang (Sulfur), Ruxiang (Frankincense) (each 2 qian), Hupo (Amber), Hua Ruishi (Flower Porphyry Stone) (each 1 qian).
Grind above medicines together with previous ones into fine powder, mix with wine and rice paste to make pills size of marbles. When using, take one or two pills, fire-calcined red into powder, mix with Tongzi Xiaonian (Boy's Urine) and wine to pour down. Dying person takes 3-4 pills and revives, its merit cannot be fully described.
One Prescription (Chanbao Formula) Treats retained placenta.
Chuan Niuxi (Cyathula Root) (2 qian), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) (1.5 qian), Mutong (Akebia Stem) (3 qian), Huashi (Talcum) (4.5 qian), Huang Kui Zi (Yellow Hibiscus Seed) (2.5 qian).
Decoct in water, take continuously 3-4 doses, immediately expelled.
Zhiqiao San (Bitter Orange Powder) (Ju Fang Formula) During 8th-9th month of pregnancy, when fetal Qi is full, often take this, makes fetus slippery easy to deliver, calms uterus, benefits Blood and soothes Qi.
Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange) (5 liang, bran-stir-fried yellow), Fen Gancao (Powder Licorice Root) (roasted, 1.5 liang), Xiangfu Zi (Cyperus Rotundus) (1 liang, stir-fried).
Grind into fine powder, take 2 qian each time, empty stomach with boiling water point-drink, take three times daily. Another prescription adds Nuomi (Glutinous Rice) stir-fried same as powder, white water point-drink. Makes child easy to deliver, initial fetal Qi slightly black, after hundred days fat and white, this is the crown of ancient prescriptions. If pregnant woman is slightly weak, fearing cold womb abdominal pain from thin clothes, weak fetus many terrors, add Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) 1 liang, Muxiang (Aucklandia Root) half liang not roasted, thus use, then Yang not too strong, Yin not too weak, two Qi harmonized, beneficial to fetus.

Dietary Taboos (Ju Fang Formula)
Chicken meat eaten with glutinous rice causes child to grow inch-long tapeworm. Eating dog meat causes child to be mute. Fish carp eaten with chicken eggs causes child to grow parasitic ulcers. Eating rabbit meat causes child to have cleft lip. Eating lamb liver causes child much hardship. Eating turtle meat causes child short neck and shrunk head. Duck eaten with mulberry causes child breech birth and cold heart. Fresh fish eaten with frog causes child aphonia. Sparrow meat eaten with bean paste causes child facial spots like sparrow eggs. ... Eating ice slush causes sterility. ... Eating arrowhead reduces fetal Qi. Eating donkey or horse meat causes overdue difficult labor. Bean paste eaten with huocai (herb) causes abortion.
Eating goat meat causes child many illnesses. Eating loach, eel, scaleless fish causes difficult labor. Eating various mushrooms causes child convulsions and early death. Eating sparrow brain causes child night blindness. Do not blindly take herbal decoctions, do not blindly acupuncture, do not drink alcohol excessively, do not lift heavy objects or climb high dangers, great fright in mind causes child epilepsy. Do not sleep too much, must walk little often to move, harmonize vessels. Do not labor excessively injuring, causing Kidney Qi insufficient, child must suffer craniolysis, brain broken not closing. Clothes not too warm, food not too full, if Spleen-Stomach not harmonized, Ying-Wei deficient damaged, child must be emaciated sick, beware beware!
Knowledge for Labor (External Record)
First, do not wash hair near term to avoid transverse or malpresentation.
Second, when ten months of pregnancy are full, Yin and Yang Qi sufficient, suddenly umbilical abdominal paroxysmal pain, fetus sinks to side, waist heavy swelling, anus protruding, amniotic fluid dripping, child born, this is normal delivery. If delivery has its own time, like melon ripe stem falls, chestnut ripe self-drops.
Third, for labor, choose elderly knowledgeable midwife and pure cautious women three or four to support, all outsiders idle people, mourning dirty women, previously block, do not let touch fetal Qi, cause delivery disadvantage. Postpartum external qi invading infant, also main harm.
Fourth, for labor, room no noise, close doors tightly, wait quietly for birth.
Fifth, when term satisfied, only feel abdominal pain, do not disturb too early, early then whole family chaotic, divination asking gods witches, claiming ghosts gods, many ways scare profit,产妇 hear terror. Fear then Qi cowardly, Qi cowardly then Upper Jiao closed, Lower Jiao bloated, Qi not moving, causing difficult labor. If violate this, urgently take Zisu Yin (Perilla Decoction) to widen Qi.
Sixth, near term suddenly abdominal pain, or acting stopping, or one day, two days, three five days, fetal water arrived, abdominal pain not dense, named Nong Tong (Playing Pain), not due delivery. Also one month before, suddenly abdominal pain, like wanting to deliver, yet not delivering, named Shi Yue (Testing Month), not due delivery. Regardless fetal water coming or not, all no matter, just relax mind wait time.
