The above three ingredients, except for the musk which is separately ground into powder, are mixed together to form an extremely fine powder. Mix in the musk evenly. Take three qian each time, mixed with one cup of hot wine and swallowed. If the internal blood stasis has been expelled, or if there is injury/fracture of the joints with unbearable pain, treat it with Ding Tong Jie Gu Zi Jin Dan (Pain-Relieving and Bone-Knitting Purple Gold Pill).
[Yan's Formula] Duo Ming San (Life-Restoring Powder) treats injuries caused by knife blades, as well as falls from heights or crushing by wood and stone, leading to coagulation of blood stasis, pain in the heart and abdomen, and obstruction of urination and defecation.
Hirudo (half liang, mixed with calcined earth and slow-fired until dry and yellowish)
Peltophorum Fructus (Heiqianniu, two liang)
Grind the above into powder. Take two qian each time, mixed with hot wine and swallowed. Walk about four or five li after taking the medicine, then take another two qian of Heiqianniu powder mixed with hot wine to promote evacuation. The foul blood must be discharged in clots, continuing until completely expelled.
[Wu's Formula] Ji Ming San (Crowing Rooster Powder) treats falls from heights or crushing by wood and stone, where any traumatic injury results in blood stasis coagulation, near-death state due to qi obstruction, irritability, headache, inability to cry out. This medicine promotes the discharge of blood stasis and is miraculous for treating fractures.
Rhubarb Root (Dahuang, one liang, steamed with wine)
Peach Kernel (Taoren, fourteen kernels, skin and tip removed)
Grind the above finely. Decoct in one bowl of wine until reduced to six-tenths. Strain and administer at the time of the crowing rooster (early morning). On the next day, discharge of blood stasis indicates recovery. If the patient immediately feels qi exhaustion and cannot speak, and there is no time to prepare medicine, forcibly open the mouth and灌 (pour) hot urine into it, which will lead to recovery.
[Luo's Formula] Hua Rui Shi San (Flower Porphyry Stone Powder) treats all injuries from metal blades or arrowheads, as well as blunt trauma, cat or dog bites, even up to death. For blood stasis at the injury site, sprinkle the powder on it; the blood will transform into yellow fluid. Sprinkling the medicine again restores life without further pain. If internal injury occurs with blood entering the zang-fu organs, decoct infant urine, add a little wine, mix one large cup, and take it for immediate effect. If the intestine prolapses but is not damaged, urgently replace it, suture the abdominal wall using fine thread or mulberry root bark as thread, apply powder on the sutured area; bleeding stops and life is restored immediately. If mulberry root bark is unavailable, raw hemp fiber can be used. Do not seal the wound, lest pus and blood form. If the wound is dry, moisten with saliva before applying powder. For postpartum women with retained lochia, blood confusion/fainting, evil blood rushing to the heart, fetal death in utero, or retained placenta leading to death, as long as the heart region feels warm, urgently mix one cup with infant urine to expel foul matter resembling liver slices; they will never suffer from blood wind or blood qi syndromes thereafter. If there is blood above the diaphragm, it transforms into yellow fluid and is vomited out immediately or discharged with stool.
Sulfur (Shiliuhuang, four liang)
Flower Porphyry Stone (Huarui Shi, two liang)
Mix the above two ingredients evenly. First, reinforce a clay jar with paper pulp and salt mud so it can hold the medicine. After the mud dries, put the medicine inside, seal the mouth with mud, and let it dry. Place it on a square brick, inscribing Bagua and Five Elements characters on top. Use one picul of charcoal, layered around, ignite from below starting at Si-Wu hours (9 am - 1 pm), heating gradually until overnight. Let the fire cool and charcoal burn out. Leave for another night, remove the cold jar, grind finely, sieve through silk cloth, and store in a porcelain box. Use according to method.

[Ben Cao] During the Xuanhe era, a national physician was suddenly summoned via fast courier to a Buddhist temple to treat an inner palace lady. Upon examination, she was already comatose. Asking her attendants, none knew the cause of illness, leaving him terrified. After a while, several old palace ladies arrived, alighted from their sedan chairs, and wept around her, revealing the truth: she died from falling during cuju (ancient football). The doctor said: Blunt trauma belongs to surgery. Wanting to report this, he feared delay might cause unforeseen issues. Re-examining her, he felt faint breath. Suddenly remembering Su He Xiang Wan (Styrax Pill) in his medicine chest, he hastily took half a liang, baked it on fire to remove camphor and musk, dissolved it in half a sheng of wine, and forced it down her throat. By the third watch (11 pm - 1 am), she began groaning; by the fifth watch (3 am - 5 am), she discharged several sheng of foul blood. After days of conditioning, she recovered.
[Zhong Jing] Treats horse falls and all tendon/bone injuries.
Rhubarb Root (Dahuang, one liang, sliced, soaked in boiling water, or half liang)
Red Silk Cloth (Feibo)
Tangled Hair (Luafa, size of a chicken egg, burnt to ash)
Old Matting made of Cattail Catkins (Baipuxi, three cun)
Old Cooking Cloth (Jiuyong Chuidanbu, one chi, burnt to ash)
Peach Kernel (Taoren, forty-nine kernels, skin and tip removed)
Licorice Root (Gancao, size of middle finger joint, roasted, chopped)
Decoct the above seven ingredients in infant urine (quantity adjusted) or add one large cup of wine. Add Rhubarb last. Strain. Divide into three warm doses. First, chop half an old cattail mat, decoct in water for bathing, cover with blankets. Soon, bowel movements will occur several times; recovery follows immediately. If the bathwater turns red, do not be surprised; it is blood stasis.
[Sheng Ji Zong Lu] Treats blunt trauma with cyanosis and swelling of skin and muscle. Select very large, entirely yellow eggplant seeds. Slice to the thickness of a finger, bake on new tiles until dry, and grind into powder. Before sleep, mix two qian with wine and swallow; swelling disappears overnight without trace.
[Ben Cao] Treats blood stasis not dispersing due to injury. Take eight fen of Moutan Cortex (Mudanpi) combined with twenty-one Leeches (Mengchong, stir-fried). Pound and sift together. Each time, take one fangcun bi (square-inch measure) of powder mixed with warm wine; the blood should transform and flow down as water.
[Danxi] Treats blunt trauma where blood stasis exudes from under the joints. One jin of Pig Iron (Shengtie) and five sheng of wine are decocted to obtain one sheng. Drink it. (From Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang)
[Ben Cao] Treats falls from height causing blunt trauma, with pain from evil blood between joints. Use Yun Tai San (Brassica Napus Powder).

Mirabilite (Chuan Mangxiao)
Purslane (Maxian, one liang each, Yin-dried)
Grind the above into fine powder. Decoct half a liang of Sappan Wood (Sumu) in one large cup of wine until reduced to seven-tenths. Mix with two qian of powder and take at any time.
[Danxi] Official Sheng suffered internal damage from blood stasis after climbing a mountain, with poor appetite and wiry pulse. This requires activating blood and harmonizing qi.
Ligusticum Rhizome (Chuanxiong, three qian)
Green Tangerine Peel (Qingpi, two qian)
Peony Root (Shaoyao)
Talcum (Huashi, one qian each)
Moutan Cortex (Mudanpi, five fen)
Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao, one qian)
Peach Kernel (Taoren, seven kernels, crushed)
Take as one dose.
In cases of injury, absolutely do not drink cold water. Blood congeals when exposed to cold. If even a small amount enters the heart, death ensues.
[Su Wen] When a person falls from height, evil blood remains inside, causing abdominal fullness and obstruction of urination/defecation. First administer purgatives. This injures the Jueyin meridian above and Shaoyin collaterals below. Prick the blood vessels below the medial malleolus and anterior to Ran Gu acupoint to bleed. Prick the pulsating vessel on the dorsum of the foot. If ineffective, prick each of the five toes' hair tufts once until bleeding appears; recovery is immediate. Left-sided lesions treated on the right, right-sided on the left. For sadness, fear, and unhappiness, use the same needling method. (Miao Ci Lun)
[Ling Shu] Body injuries with excessive bleeding, contraction of wind-cold, or falls causing flaccidity and incoordination of limbs are named Ti Duo (Body Lethargy). Treat the San Jie Jiao acupoint located below the umbilicus. San Jie Jiao refers to the intersection of Yangming and Taiyin meridians, specifically Guan Yuan acupoint, three cun below the umbilicus. (Han Re Bing Pian Note: San Jie Jiao is Guan Yuan.)
