[Shi] Treatment of *Putao Chuang* (Grape-like Ulcer). The ulcer head resembles the color of grapes, with swelling and elevation around the periphery. First, drain all pus completely; then apply *Bing Mei* (Ice Plum) to the ulcer head. This yields miraculous effects.
[Bencao] A merchant in the Jiangzuo region had an ulcer on his left upper arm that resembled a human face, causing no other discomfort. When the merchant jokingly dripped wine into the "mouth" of this face, it would turn red. When fed food, it could eat; consuming too much caused the flesh of the arm to swell, while not feeding it resulted in numbness of the arm. A skilled physician instructed him to test various medicines one by one without adverse reactions. Upon using *Beimu* (Fritillaria Bulb), the ulcer furrowed its brows and closed its mouth. The merchant rejoiced, saying, "This medicine can cure it." He therefore used a small reed tube to grind *Beimu* in water and irrigate the wound. After several days, a scab formed, and he recovered. It was unknown what disease this was. Some said: This is a "Human Face Ulcer."
[Danxi] Treatment of *Tianpao Chuang* (Heavenly Blister / Bullous Eruption). Use *Tongsheng San* (Universal Salvation Powder) or earthworm mud slightly stir-fried, mixed with honey for external application; this is excellent. If the eruption starts from the abdomen, it indicates internal heat manifesting externally; administer *Tongsheng San* rapidly.
[Waitai Mi Yao] Treatment of epidemic macular ulcers (*Tianxing Ban Chuang*). Within moments, the entire body becomes covered with blisters containing white serum. This is caused by malignant toxic qi. In the fourth year of Yonghui, this ulcer spread eastward from the Western Regions to the interior. Simply boiling okra leaves and eating them with minced garlic stops the progression.
[Sun Simiao] For sudden onset of unrecognized malignant ulcers, burn bitter bamboo leaves and mix with egg yolk for topical application.
The collateral vessel of the Hand-Taiyang channel is named *Zhizheng* (Branching Correctness). It is located five cun above the wrist. Deficiency manifests as small boils or scabies on the fingers; treat by selecting the point at its departure. (See full text in Acupuncture Excess and Deficiency.)
[Danxi] For warts (*Mu*) growing on hands and feet, apply salt and lick with the tongue; recovery occurs in only three applications. (From *Zhouhou Beiji Fang*)
[Shi] For warts, rub the lesion with the inner lining of a chicken stomach. Press the remaining lining with a stone to verify efficacy.
[Shi] Recipe for mole-removing paste.
*Rice* (100 grains) *Duan Shi* (Calcined Alum, size of a thumb) *Badou* (Croton Seed, 3 grains, shell removed and ground)
Grind all into powder, place in a porcelain bottle, and seal/bury for three days. Each time, use a bamboo stick to pick up a amount the size of a millet grain and dot it onto the mole. It will naturally erode and fall off.
[Li Dongyuan] To remove facial nevi/redness (*Ye*).
*Fenghua Duan Shi* (Weathered Calcined Alum, 1 liang) *Hua Jian* (Flower Alkali/Soda Ash, 0.5 liang)
Grind into fine powder and apply three times. Use when the weather is cold and damp.
[Yanyi] *Duan Shi*, mixed with water to form a thick porridge consistency. Select whole, high-quality rice grains; place half in the ash and half outside the ash. Overnight, the rice in the ash turns transparent like crystal. If there are black nevi or tattoos on the hand or face, first gently prick the area with a needle tip, then apply a small amount of the powder. After about half a day, dark fluid will naturally exude. Remove the medication and do not use further; keep the area dry from water. Healing occurs in two to three days.
Another prescription: Take one leech and one egg. Open the small end of the egg, insert the leech, cover with the shell piece, and seal tightly. Wait until the leech consumes all the egg white and dies naturally, then use it.
