[Secular Experience] Treating centipede bites. Applying fresh chicken blood to the wound leads to immediate recovery, verified repeatedly. A man had a centipede enter his throat and bite him; on the verge of death, a physician instructed him to slaughter a live chicken and pour the hot blood into his throat. The centipede was expelled, and he recovered. This is indeed an excellent prescription. Another method involves applying chicken manure to the affected area. Yet another method treats centipede and other venomous insect bites: light a lamp with sesame oil and smoke the wound by holding it opposite the flame, resulting in instant healing. Alternatively, burn a paper lamp soaked in heavy oil, extinguish it, and fumigate the wound with the residual smoke. For centipede bites, grinding the snake *Bamboo Leaf Green* (*Trimeresurus stejnegeri*) into juice and applying it brings immediate relief. Another prescription uses *Arisaema cum Bile* (Nanxing, 天南星) ground into juice for application, also verified effective.
[Master Mei] For centipede bites causing unceasing pain, grind a single-head garlic and apply it to the sting site for immediate relief.
*[Shengji Zonglu]* Prescription for centipede bites: Scrape the juice from a snail and drip it into the bitten area.
[Sun Simiao] For centipede bites, place one spider on the bite site; the spider will naturally absorb the toxin. If the spider dies but the pain persists, replace it with a fresh one.
[Danzhi] For centipede bites, chew salt and apply it to the injury, then wash the area with salt water. (*Meishi Fang*) For centipede bites, plug the wound with head dandruff/grease; if it does not hurt, it will itch. To treat centipede and various insect bites/poisons: first rub the area with the sole of a shoe, then cover the wound with garlic, small garlic, and mulberry leaves. If unavailable, apply fermented bean paste (Youchi) or smear indigo dye over the wound; both are effective. For centipede and venomous insect bites: rub the painful area with juice from mulberry branches mixed with salt, or melt beeswax and drip it onto the lesion until the flesh turns black. Another method: place *Gleditsia Sinensis* (Zaojiao, 皂角) on the bite and apply moxibustion heat above it to expel the toxin; this is effective.
[Danzhi] Treating ulcers caused by earwig urine: initially resembling millet grains, gradually enlarging to bean size, feeling like burning, with large blisters and severe pain. Quickly apply fine powder of herbal tea (Caocha, 草茶) mixed with raw oil to the ulcer for immediate pain relief; this is highly efficacious. (Another prescription: crush *Rubus chingii* fruit with lard for application. Caocha refers to tea leaves.) Treating ulcers from rain-spattered earwigs: crush lily bulbs, add a little salt, and apply; this is effective.
*[Qianjin Fang]* Treating illness caused by the shadow/reflection of earwig urine touching a person: sores appear like clusters of millet grains, pain similar to insect stings, accompanied by aversion to cold and high fever. Grind rhinoceros horn into juice and apply to the area for cure.
[Secular Experience] Earwigs, also known as eight-legged insects, hide in wall crevices and spray urine on people, causing body-wide sores resembling scalds. Burn feathers from a black hen to ash, mix with egg white, and apply. For infants bitten by earwigs, if the bite encircles the abdomen, it can be fatal. Crush pear leaves and apply.
*[Shiliao Bencao]* Ulcers from earwig urine: Use three sheng of salt and one dou of water, boil down to six sheng. Soak cotton cloth in the decoction and compress the ulcer.
