各种气逆的原因,有的因为乳食过多,停滞在中脘,导致损伤胃气,不能正常运化而上逆;
有的在进食时受到惊吓,停积的食物无法消化而上逆;
有的因为痰饮壅盛,阻隔气道;

Irregular intake of milk and food damages the Spleen and Stomach, leading to emaciation like firewood and the formation of *Bulu Gan* (Late-night Dew Malnutrition Syndrome); symptoms include vomiting food, vomiting roundworms, irritability, thirst, open fontanelles, and steaming heat in the afternoon.
First use *Jisheng Wan* (Collective Sage Pill) to eliminate stagnation, then use *Fei'er Wan* (Flesh-Enriching Pill) which is very effective. If the abdomen becomes distended with visible blue veins, administer *Renshen Wan* (Ginseng Pill) without delay.
[Note]
*Bulu Gan* is caused by irregular intake of milk and food severely damaging the Spleen and Stomach.
Its manifestations include emaciation like firewood, vomiting of food and roundworms, irritability and thirst, open cranial sutures/fontanelles, and steaming heat occurring daily around dusk.
First, use *Jisheng Wan* to eliminate internal stagnation,
then use *Fei'er Wan* to clear and regulate the Spleen. If *Bulu Gan* persists for a long time,
resulting in a large abdomen with exposed subcutaneous veins, one should employ both clearing and tonifying methods, primarily using *Renshen Wan*.
(*Jisheng Wan*) Aloe Vera (*Aloe*, Lu Hui) lightly stir-fried, Trogopterus Dung (*Wulingzhi*, Five-Spirit Fat) stir-fried, Night Soil (*Yeming Sha*) washed, roasted and dried, Amomum Fruit (*Suosha*), Aucklandia Root (*Muxiang*), Tangerine Peel (*Chenpi*), Curcuma Rhizome (*Ezhu), Seed of Quisqualis (*Shijunzi Rou*), Coptis Rhizome (*Huanglian*), Ligusticum Rhizome (*Chuanxiong*) wine-washed and stir-fried, Dried Toad Skin (*Ganchan*) each 2 qian processed with honey, Angelica Sinensis Root (*Danggui*) 1.5 qian, Green Tangerine Peel (*Qingpi*) 2 qian processed.
The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. Take juice from two male pig gallbladders, mix with flour paste to form pills. Each dose is 1 qian, taken with rice water.
(*Fei'er Wan*) See the section on Spleen *Gan* for the formula.
(*Renshen Wan*) Ginseng Root (*Renshen*), Ophiopogon Tuber (*Maidong*) heart removed, Pinellia Tuber (*Banxia*) prepared with ginger, Rheum Palmate Rhizome (*Dahuang*) lightly stir-fried, Astragalus Membranaceus Root (*Huangqi*) processed with honey, Poria (*Fuling*), Bupleurum Root (*Chaihu*), Scutellaria Root (*Huangqin*), Licorice Root (*Gancao*) processed with honey, Ligusticum Rhizome (*Chuanxiong*), Chebula Fruit (*Helile*) baked, Tortoise Shell (*Guijia*) processed with honey. The above ingredients are ground into fine powder,
mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of sesame seeds, taken with gruel water, dosage adjusted according to the child's age and size.
Various rebellious Qi rushing upward causes vomiting; this may be due to milk and food injuring the Stomach or accompanying fright, or due to phlegm-fluid retention or worm disturbance. One must clearly distinguish between deficiency and excess, cold and heat.
[Note]
The syndrome of vomiting is all caused by various rebellious Qi rushing upward.
The causes of such rebellion include: excessive intake of milk and food stagnating in the Middle Jiao (*Zhongwan*), damaging Stomach Qi and preventing normal transportation, causing upward rebellion;
being startled during meals, causing stagnant food to fail to digest and rebel upward;
excessive accumulation of phlegm-fluid obstructing the airway;
or disturbance by ascariasis (*roundworms*), causing restlessness and discomfort, leading to upward rebellion.
In summary, although the causes of rebellious Qi differ, they all can result in vomiting.
However, diseases present as either deficiency or excess, cold or heat.
The practitioner must, during clinical examination, integrate and consider accompanying symptoms, carefully distinguishing them, so as to avoid errors.
