Baihe (Lilii Bulbus) [broken apart] 7 pieces, Shengdihuang Zhi (Fresh Rehmanniae Radix Juice) 1 sheng.
Take the above two ingredients, wash the Baihe with water, soak for one night until white foam appears, discard this water. Then add 2 sheng of spring water, decoct to obtain 1 sheng, remove the dregs, add the Shengdihuang Zhi, and decoct again to obtain 1.5 sheng. Divide into two warm doses. Stop taking it once the disease is cured; the stool will often be black like lacquer.
[Ji Jie - Collected Explanations]
Cheng Lin said: The flowers and leaves of Baihe all face four directions, thus it can penetrate up, down, and all around. Its root is also composed of many scales, hence named "Baihe" (Hundred Scales). It is used to treat Baihe Bing (Lily Disease), which is reasonable.
Gao Shishi said: Baihe is white in color and sweet in taste; it is a tonic formula for the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian. Its flowers open during the day and close at night, similar to Qi circulating in Yang during the day and Yin at night. It governs opening and closing, thereby harmonizing Ying and Wei (Nutritive and Defensive Qi) and balancing Yin and Yang.

If Baihe Bing transforms into a condition with fever, Baili Huashi San (Lily and Talc Powder) is the primary treatment.
[Note]
In Baihe Bing, symptoms present as resembling cold without actual cold, or resembling heat without actual heat; originally there is no fever. If it now transforms into fever, it indicates internal heat. Therefore, Baili Huashi San is used to induce mild diuresis, allowing the heat to be eliminated through urination.
Baizhi (Stir-fried) Baihe 1 liang, Huashi (Talcum) 3 liang.
Grind the above two ingredients into powder. Take one fangcun bi (a square-inch measure) with water, three times a day. When mild diuresis occurs, stop taking the medicine; the heat will be eliminated.
[Ji Zhu - Collected Annotations]
Gao Shishi said: Huashi is also known as Yeshi or Liaoshi; it is the fat/grease of stone. It mainly treats body heat, dysentery, and promotes urination.

If Baihe Bing persists for one month without resolution and transforms into thirst, Baili Xi Fang (Lily Bathing Decoction) is the primary treatment.
[Note]
Baihe Bing originally does not involve thirst. If it persists for one month and transforms into thirst, externally bathe the body with Lily decoction to vent the exterior and drain heat. Internally consume boiled wheat noodles (Zhu Bing), but do not use salted black beans (Yan Chi) seasoning, so as not to stimulate drinking desire. Thus, the thirst will cease naturally.
Baihe 1 sheng.
Soak the above ingredient in 10 dou of water for one night. Use the liquid to wash the body. After washing, eat boiled wheat noodles; do not use salted black beans seasoning.

If Baihe Bing involves thirst that does not resolve, use the following prescription.
[Note]
For cases where bathing with Lily decoction fails to resolve thirst, it indicates excessive internal heat and exhaustion of Jin-Ye (Body Fluids). Gualougen (Trichosanthis Radix), bitter and cold, generates fluids and stops thirst; Muli (Ostreae Concha), salty and cold, guides heat downward.
