舌卒肿，满口溢出，须臾不治杀人，急以指刮破舌两边，去汁即愈。

奔豚，腹中与腰痛，灸中府百壮。穴在两乳上三肋间。
耳聋有脓不差，有虫，先以绵缠去耳中汁，以矾石末粉耳中，次以石盐末粉其上，食久
乃起，不过再度永瘥。
耳，桃仁熟捣，以故绯绢裹内耳中，日三易，以瘥为度。
治底耳，黄矾烧，绵裹内耳中，不过三日愈。或以苇管吹耳中。
治虫心痛，鹤虱末之，蜜和梧子大，服四十丸，日三，蜜汤下。加至五十丸。慎酒肉。
又方∶鹤虱一两末之，空腹温酢一盏和服之，虫当吐出。
又方∶服漆一合。
热翳漫睛，以羊筋漱口熟嚼，夜卧，开目纳之，即闭目睡，去膜，明日差。亦治眯目。
眼暗，以铜器盛大酢三四升，煎七八日，覆器湿地，取铜青一合，以三月杏白仁一升，
取汁，和铜青敷之，日不过三四度大良。
又方∶含黄柏一爪甲许，使津置掌中拭目，讫，以水洗之，至百日眼明。此法乃可终身
行之，永除眼疾神良。
雀目术∶令雀目人至黄昏时看雀宿处，打令惊起，雀飞乃咒曰∶紫公紫公，我还汝盲，
汝还我明。如此日日暝三过作之，眼即明，曾试有验。
大小便不通，葵子末一升，青竹叶一把，以水二升，煮五沸，顿服。
又方∶葵子一升，榆皮一升，水五升，煮取二升，分三服。
又方∶葵子一升，以水三升，煮取一升，去滓，纳猪脂一升，空腹分二服。
又方∶甑带煮取汁，和蒲黄方寸匕，日三服。

失欠颊车蹉，一人以手指牵其颐，以渐推之，则复入矣。推当疾出指，恐误齿伤人指也。

大便失禁，不拘老人小儿，灸两脚大趾去甲一寸，三壮。又灸大趾奇间三壮。
小便不通，水四升，洗甑带，取汁煮葵子，取二升半，分三服。
又方∶胡燕粪、豉各一合，和捣丸如梧桐子大，服三丸，日三。
又方∶发，去垢烧末，一升，葵子一升，以饮服方寸匕，日三。
又方∶石槽塞灰土，井花水服之，日三。
又方∶服车前子末方寸匕，日三，百日止。

即瘥。
耳聋鸣，汁出一二十年不瘥，矾石少许，以生菖蒲根汁和，点入耳中。
耳聋，巴豆十四个，成炼松脂半两，合治丸如黍米大，绵裹，以簪头着耳中，一日一易。

又方∶酒三升，浸牡荆子二升，碎之，浸七日，去滓，任性服尽。三十年聋亦瘥。
又方∶硫黄、雄黄，各等分，末之，绵裹内耳中，数日闻人语。
舌头突然肿胀，充满口腔并溢出，若不及时救治会致死。紧急情况下，用手指刮破舌头两侧，排出汁液即可痊愈。
另一个方子：取锅底黑灰（釜下墨），用浓醋调和敷在舌头的上下表面，脱落后再敷效果更佳。
又一个方子：半夏十二枚，洗净煮熟，用一升醋，煮至剩余八合，慢慢含漱后吐出。加入生姜一两效果更好。
又一个方子：满口含着少许醋和糖，待热气通畅时就停止。
舌上出血如泉水涌出，烧红铁篦子，趁热烙烫出血的孔洞，效果良好。
舌头僵硬不能说话，将矾石、桂心按等份研成末，放在舌头底下，立刻痊愈。
耳朵里有异物无法取出，取弓弦从一头弄散开，涂上好的胶注在耳内的异物上固定住，让它粘牢，然后慢慢拉出来。
耳聋干燥，耵聍（耳屎）无法取出，用三年的醋灌入耳中最好。用棉球塞住约半天时间，一定会有东西排出来。
百虫进入耳朵，取蜀椒末一撮，用半升醋调匀灌入耳中，走动二十步虫子就会出来。
又一个方子：用桃叶火熨烫，卷起来堵塞耳朵，虫子立刻出来。
又一个方子：用车脂敷在耳孔，虫子自己会出来。《肘后备急方》用它来治疗耳流脓血。
又一个方子：用葱涕灌入耳中，虫子就会出来。也能治疗耳聋。
齿龈间出血不止，取生竹茹二两，用醋煮后含在口中。
又一个方子：温童子小便半升，取三合含在口中，血就会止住。
九窍出血，捣碎荆叶取汁，用酒送服二合。（注：此处“一”指代前文提到的荆叶，即荆芥。）
九种心痛，取当年太岁方位上新生的槐树枝一握，去掉两头，切碎，用水三升，煮至剩余一升，一次性服用。
又一个方子：煮桃白皮（桃树皮内层）的汁，空腹意念引导服下。
妇人心痛，用布包裹如弹丸大小的盐，烧成灰，用酒送服。
又一个方子：烧秤锤投入酒中服用效果佳。
又一个方子：炒大豆投入酒中服用效果佳。
产后突然心痛，桂心三两，酒三升，煮至剩余二升，去渣，分三次服用，每天三次。
又治腹中剧烈疼痛，
生牛膝五两，酒五升，煮至剩余二升，去渣，分两次服用。如果是干牛膝根，需先用酒浸泡一夜方可煮。
奔豚气发作，急忙煮热水浸泡双手双脚，多次更换热水。
又一个方子：灸章门穴一百壮。章门又名长平，两个穴位位于大横穴外侧，直对脐肋端。
又一个方子：灸气海穴一百壮。穴位在脐下一寸半。
又一个方子：灸关元穴一百壮。穴位在脐下三寸。
又一个方子：灸中极穴五十壮。穴位在脐下四寸。
又一个方子：灸期门穴一百壮。直对乳下第二肋骨端旁开一寸五分。
又一个方子：灸四满穴十四壮。穴位夹丹田两旁，相距三寸，即心下八寸，脐下横纹处。
奔豚病，腹部与腰部疼痛，灸中府穴一百壮。穴位在两乳上第三肋间。
耳聋有脓久治不愈，且有虫，先用棉线缠裹去除耳中汁液，再用矾石末撒入耳中，接着用石盐末撒在上面，停留较长时间后才起身，不超过两次即可永久痊愈。
耳病，桃仁煮熟捣烂，用旧的红色丝绢包裹放入耳中，每天更换三次，以痊愈为度。
治疗底耳（慢性耳病），黄矾烧制后，用棉包裹放入耳中，不超过三天痊愈。或者用苇管吹药入耳中。
治疗虫蛀心痛，将鹤虱研末，用蜂蜜调和做成梧桐子大小的丸药，每次服四十丸，每天三次，用蜜汤送服。可加量至五十丸。忌食酒肉。
又一个方子：鹤虱一两研末，空腹用一盏温醋调和服用，虫子应当会被吐出来。
又一个方子：服用漆一合。
热翳遮蔽眼睛，将羊筋漱口后嚼熟，夜间睡觉时，睁开眼将其纳入眼中，随即闭目睡觉，去除薄膜，第二天就好了。也能治疗眯眼（异物感）。
视力昏暗，用铜器盛放三四升醋，煎煮七八天，将铜器倒扣在湿地上，收取生成的铜青一合，用三月杏白仁一升取汁，与铜青混合敷眼，每天不超过三四次，效果极好。
又一个方子：含一片黄柏如指甲大小，让津液浸润手掌中擦拭眼睛，完成后用水清洗，坚持百日眼睛明亮。此法可以终身施行，永远消除眼疾，神效良方。
治疗雀目（夜盲症）的方法：让雀目患者在黄昏时看麻雀栖息的地方，打惊起麻雀，待麻雀飞起时念咒语：“紫公紫公，我还你盲，你还我明。”像这样每天傍晚做三次，眼睛就会明亮，曾经尝试过有效。
大小便不通，葵子末一升，青竹叶一把，用水二升，煮五次沸腾，一次性服用。
又一个方子：葵子一升，榆皮一升，水五升，煮至剩余二升，分三次服用。
又一个方子：葵子一升，用水三升，煮至剩余一升，去渣，加入猪脂一升，空腹分两次服用。
又一个方子：蒸笼带煮取汁，与蒲黄一方寸匕混合，每天三次服用。
又一个方子：猪脂一升，用水二升，煮三次沸腾，饮用汁液立刻通畅。
又一个方子：灸脐下一寸三壮。
打哈欠导致颊车关节脱位，一人用手指牵引下巴，慢慢推回原位，即可复位。推的时候动作要快出手指，以免误伤牙齿或手指。
又一个方子：融化蜡和水敷患处。
眼睛被异物眯住出不来，吞一粒蚕沙，异物即出。
食物突然吸入鼻中甚至入脑，取如手指大的羊脂，放入鼻中向上吸，油脂融化则异物随油脂下行。
鼻中出血不止，捣碎楮叶取汁，饮用三升，效果极佳。
牙痛，蚯蚓粪，用水和成稠泥团，火烧至极红如粉状，用腊月猪脂调和敷在牙龈上，每天两到三次。
又一个方子：马齿菜一把，嚼碎即愈。
牙齿松动欲落，生地黄用棉包裹贴在牙齿上，咀嚼及咬合，让汁液浸泡齿根，每天四五次，并将汁液咽下，十天效果很好。
大便困难，好胶三寸，葱白一把，用水四升，煮至剩余一升半，一次性服用即能排便。
又一个方子：葵子汁与乳汁等分混合，服用后立即排出。
大便失禁，不分老人小孩，灸双脚大趾甲后一寸处，三壮。又灸大趾奇间穴三壮。
小便不通，水四升，洗蒸笼带，取汁煮葵子，取二升半，分三次服用。
又一个方子：胡燕粪、豆豉各一合，混合捣碎做成梧桐子大小的丸药，每次服三丸，每天三次。
又一个方子：头发，去垢烧成末，一升，葵子一升，用饮送服一方寸匕，每天三次。
又一个方子：石槽塞灰土，用井花水送服，每天三次。
又一个方子：服用车前子末一方寸匕，每天三次，百日见效。
突然无法小便，车前草一把，桑白皮半两，切碎，用水三升，煎至剩余一升，一次性服用。
妇人突然无法小便，杏仁十四枚，炒熟研末服用，立刻通畅。
又一个方子：紫菀末，用井花水服三指撮，立刻通畅。若有出血，服用四五次。
大小便不利，葵子二升，硝石二两，用水五升，煮至剩余二升，分两次服用。
小便不利，大便次数多且稀注，灸屈骨端五十壮。
胃反（呕吐反胃），进食则吐，捣粟米做成面粉，用水和成如楮实子大小的丸药七枚，烂煮，放入醋中，细细吞咽，能咽下即愈。面粉也可以用这种方法。
胃反，进食即吐出，伴有上气，芦根、茅根各二两，细切，用水四升，煮至剩余二升，一次性服用，能咽下即愈。
又一个方子：喝白马尿即止。
又一个方子：淘洗小芥子，晒干研末，用酒送服一方寸匕，每天三次。
又一个方子：灸两乳下各一寸，以痊愈为度。
上气（气逆），酥油一升，独头蒜五颗，先用酥油煎蒜至黄色取出，加入生姜汁一合，共同煎熟，空腹温服一方寸匕。
上气呕吐，芥子二升研末，蜂蜜丸。寅时用井花水送服如梧桐子大小七丸，每天两次。也可以做成散剂，酒浸服用。
脚气病入腹，困闷欲死，吴茱萸六升，木瓜两个，切碎，用水一斗三升，煮至剩余三升，分三次服用。
突然噎食，满口涂蜜食用即能咽下。

明目，防止脱发，将槐子浸泡在牛胆中，阴干百日，饭后吞服一枚，十天身体轻盈，三十天白发变黑。
明目，小黑豆，每天空腹吞服十四枚。
又一个方子：三月三日采集蔓菁花，阴干，研磨过筛，空腹用井花水送服一方寸匕。长期服用，可以夜间阅读细小书籍。

又一个方子：挖一个坑，可容纳二升左右，在其中放置炭火。坑形似窖，用砖覆盖口上，砖上开一个小孔，可容纳一小指，砖孔上放地黄一升，用木盆覆盖，用泥封住盆下不漏气，盆底钻一个小孔，可容纳筷子，其孔上放三层布，用耳孔对着盆上熏蒸，久了若感到闷热，去掉黄水，用头发包裹盐塞入耳中，不超过两三次，神效。
又一个方子：酒三升，浸泡牡荆子二升，捣碎，浸泡七天，去渣，随意服尽。三十年聋也能痊愈。
又一个方子：硫黄、雄黄，各等份，研末，棉包裹放入耳中，数日后能听到人说话。
Sudden tongue swelling fills the mouth and overflows; if not treated urgently, it can be fatal. Immediately scrape both sides of the tongue with a finger to drain the fluid, and recovery will follow.
Another prescription: Take soot from under the cauldron (Fu Xia Mo), mix with thick vinegar, and apply generously to the upper and lower surfaces of the tongue. Reapply after the previous layer falls off for better effect.
Another prescription: Take twelve pieces of Pinellia Rhizoma (Banxia), wash and cook thoroughly. Boil in one sheng of vinegar until reduced to eight ge. Hold in the mouth and gargle slowly, then spit out. Adding one liang of fresh Ginger Rhizome (Shengjiang) is beneficial.
Another prescription: Hold a small amount of vinegar and sugar in the mouth until heat dissipates, then stop.
Tongue bleeding like a spring: Heat an iron comb until red-hot and cauterize the bleeding pores; this is effective.
Stiff tongue unable to speak: Mix Alum (Fanshi) and Cinnamon Twig (Guixin) in equal parts into powder. Place under the tongue for immediate cure.
Foreign body stuck in ear that cannot be removed: Take a bowstring, unravel one end, coat with good glue, place it on the foreign body inside the ear, allow it to adhere, then slowly pull it out.
Deafness with dryness and impacted cerumen (Dingning): Pour three-year-old vinegar into the ear; this is best. Plug with cotton for about half a day, and material will be expelled.
Insects entering the ear: Take a pinch of Sichuan Pepper (Shujiao) powder, mix with half a sheng of vinegar, and pour into the ear. Walk twenty steps, and the insect will exit.
Another prescription: Heat peach leaves and apply via hot compress, then roll up and plug the ear; insects will exit immediately.
Another prescription: Apply fat from chariot wheels (Che Zhi) to the ear canal; insects will exit spontaneously. *Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang* uses this for otorrhea with pus and blood.
Another prescription: Pour onion mucus into the ear; insects will exit. This also treats deafness.
Gingival bleeding that does not stop: Take two liang of fresh Bamboo Shavings (Zhuru), boil in vinegar, and hold in the mouth.
Another prescription: Warm half a sheng of urine from a young boy, take three ge and hold in the mouth; bleeding stops immediately.
Bleeding from nine orifices: Crush Perilla Leaf (Jingye/Jingjie) to extract juice, administer two ge with wine. (Note: "Yi" refers to Jingjie).
Nine types of heart pain: Take one handful of new locust tree branches (Huai Zhi) growing above the Tai Sui position in the current year. Remove the two ends, chop roughly. Boil in three sheng of water until reduced to one sheng. Drink all at once.
Another prescription: Decoct the inner bark of peach (Tao Bai Pi). Take on an empty stomach with intention.
Heart pain in women: Wrap salt the size of a bullet in cloth, burn to ash, and administer with wine.
Another prescription: Burn a steelyard weight, throw into wine, and drink; this is good.
Another prescription: Stir-fry soybeans, throw into wine, and drink; this is good.
Sudden heart pain postpartum: Take three liang of Cinnamon Twig (Guixin) and three sheng of wine. Boil until two sheng remain. Strain and divide into three doses, taken three times daily.
Also for severe abdominal pain: Take five liang of fresh Achyranthes Root (Niuxi) and five sheng of wine. Boil until two sheng remain. Strain and divide into two doses. If using dried Niuxi root, soak in wine overnight before boiling.
Ben Tun Qi (Rushing Pig Gas): Urgently prepare hot water to soak hands and feet, changing frequently.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on Zhangmen (LR13), 100 moxa cones. Also known as Changping. Located lateral to Dahan (SP15), directly opposite the costal end near the umbilicus.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on Qihai (CV6), 100 moxa cones. Located 1.5 cun below the umbilicus.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on Guanyuan (CV4), 100 moxa cones. Located 3 cun below the umbilicus.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on Zhongji (CV3), 50 moxa cones. Located 4 cun below the umbilicus.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on Qimen (LR14), 100 moxa cones. Directly below the nipple, at the second intercostal space, 1.5 cun lateral.

Chronic otitis media with pus and insects, unhealed: First remove ear discharge by wrapping with cotton thread. Then dust the ear with Alum (Fanshi) powder, followed by Rock Salt (Shi Yan) powder. Remain still for a long time before rising. No more than two treatments are needed for permanent cure.
Ear disease: Cook and crush Peach Kernel (Taoren). Wrap in old crimson silk and insert into the ear. Change three times daily until cured.
Treating chronic ear conditions: Roast Yellow Alum (Huang Fan), wrap in cotton, and insert into the ear. Cure within three days. Alternatively, blow medicine into the ear using a reed tube.
Treating intestinal parasites causing heart pain: Powder Psoralea Fruit (Heshen). Mix with honey to make pills the size of Chinese quince seeds. Take 40 pills, three times daily, with honey water. Can increase to 50 pills. Avoid alcohol and meat.
Another prescription: Powder one liang of Heshen. Take on an empty stomach mixed with one cup of warm vinegar; parasites should be vomited out.
Another prescription: Consume one he of lacquer.
Hot nebula obscuring vision: Chew rinsed sheep tendon thoroughly. At night, open eyes and insert the chewed tendon. Close eyes and sleep. Remove the membrane next morning; vision clears. Also treats foreign body sensation in the eye.
Dim vision: Place three to four sheng of vinegar in a copper vessel. Decoct for seven to eight days. Invert the vessel on wet ground to collect Copper Acetate (Tong Qing). Take one he of Tong Qing, mix with juice extracted from one sheng of Apricot Kernels (Xing Ren) harvested in the third lunar month. Apply to eyes. Not more than three to four times daily is excellent.
Another prescription: Hold a piece of Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai) the size of a fingernail in the mouth. Allow saliva to fill the palm, wipe eyes, then rinse with water. After one hundred days, vision brightens. This method can be practiced lifelong to permanently eliminate eye diseases; it is miraculous.
Treatment for Nyctalopia (Night Blindness): Have the patient look at where sparrows roost at dusk. Startle them so they fly away. Chant: "Zi Gong Zi Gong, I return your blindness, you return my sight." Do this three times every evening. Eyes will brighten. Tested and effective.
Obstruction of both stool and urine: Take one sheng of Abelmoschus Seed (Kuizi) powder and one handful of green bamboo leaves. Boil in two sheng of water for five boils. Drink all at once.
Another prescription: One sheng of Kuizi, one sheng of Ulmus Bark (Yupi). Boil in five sheng of water until two sheng remain. Divide into three doses.
Another prescription: One sheng of Kuizi. Boil in three sheng of water until one sheng remains. Strain, add one sheng of Pig Lard (Zhuzhi). Take on an empty stomach, divided into two doses.
Another prescription: Decoct steamer straps (Zeng Dai). Mix with one cun cube of Polygonatum Rhizome powder (Puhuang). Take three times daily.
Another prescription: One sheng of Pig Lard. Boil in two sheng of water for three boils. Drink the liquid for immediate relief.
Another prescription: Moxibustion one cun below the umbilicus, 3 cones.
Dislocation of Jia Che (TMJ) due to yawning: One person pulls the chin with fingers, gradually pushing it back into place. Withdraw fingers quickly to avoid injuring teeth or fingers.
Another prescription: Melt wax, mix with water, and apply.
Foreign body stuck in eye: Swallow one grain of Silkworm Excrement (Can Sha); the object will come out.
Food suddenly inhaled into the nose/brain: Insert a piece of Sheep Fat (Yang Zhi) the size of a finger into the nose and inhale upward. As the fat melts, the object descends with it.
Epistaxis that does not stop: Crush Broussonetia Leaf (Chu Ye) to extract juice. Drink three sheng; highly effective.
Toothache: Use earthworm excrement. Mix with water to form a thick mud ball. Fire until red-hot and powdery. Mix with pig lard from the twelfth lunar month and apply to gums. Two to three times daily.
Another prescription: One handful of Purslane (Machi Cai). Chew thoroughly for cure.
Loose teeth impending loss: Wrap fresh Rehmannia Root (Sheng Dihuang) in cotton and press against teeth. Chew and bite to let juice soak the roots. Four to five times daily, swallowing the juice. Excellent results in ten days.
Difficulty defecating: Three cun of good gelatin, one handful of scallion white. Boil in four sheng of water until one and a half sheng remain. Drink all at once for immediate evacuation.
Another prescription: Equal parts of Kuizi juice and milk. Take for immediate expulsion.
Fecal incontinence: Regardless of age, moxibustion 1 cun distal to the nail of the big toe of both feet, 3 cones. Also moxibustion on Qijian (EX-LE6) of the big toe, 3 cones.
Urinary retention: Four sheng of water. Wash steamer straps, extract juice, and decoct Kuizi. Obtain two and a half sheng. Divide into three doses.
Another prescription: One he each of Swiftlet Nest residue (Hu Yan Fen) and Fermented Soybean (Chi). Pound together, make pills the size of Chinese quince seeds. Take 3 pills, three times daily.
Another prescription: Hair, cleaned and burned to ash, one sheng. Mix with one sheng of Kuizi powder. Take one cun cube with water, three times daily.
Another prescription: Stone trough filled with ash soil. Take well water (Jing Hua Shui) orally, three times daily.
Another prescription: Take Plantago Seed (Cheqian Zi) powder, one cun cube, three times daily. Effective within 100 days.
Sudden inability to urinate: One handful of Plantago Herb (Cheqian Cao), half a liang of Mulberry Root Bark (Sangbaipi). Chop roughly. Decoct in three sheng of water until one sheng remains. Drink all at once.
Sudden urinary retention in women: fourteen Almond Seeds (Xingren), roasted and powdered. Take for immediate relief.
Another prescription: Powder of Asterae Radix (Ziwan). Take three finger-pinches with well water for immediate relief. If bleeding occurs, take four to five times.
Difficulty in both stool and urine: Two sheng of Kuizi, two liang of Niter (Xiaoshi). Decoct in five sheng of water until two sheng remain. Divide into two doses.
Urinary difficulty with frequent loose stools: Moxibustion on the end of the flexed bone (Qu Gu Duan), 50 cones.
Wei Fan (Reflux vomiting): Food eaten is vomited. Pound millet into flour, mix with water to make pills the size of broussonetia seeds (7 pills). Cook thoroughly, add vinegar, swallow slowly. Relief upon successful swallowing. Flour can also be used this way.
Wei Fan with immediate vomiting and rebellious qi: Two liang each of Reed Rhizome (Lugen) and Imperata Rhizome (Maogen). Slice finely. Decoct in four sheng of water until two sheng remain. Drink all at once for relief.
Another prescription: Drink horse urine to stop symptoms.
Another prescription: Wash small mustard seeds, dry, powder. Take one cun cube with wine, three times daily.
Another prescription: Moxibustion 1 cun below each nipple until cured.
Rebellious Qi: One sheng of butter/ghee, five bulbs of single-clove garlic. Fry garlic in ghee until yellow, remove. Add one he of ginger juice. Decoct together until cooked. Take one cun cube warm on an empty stomach.
Rebellious Qi with vomiting: Two sheng of Mustard Seed (Jiezi) powder. Make honey pills. At Yin hour (3-5 AM), take seven pills the size of Chinese quince seeds with well water, twice daily. Can also be made into powder, taken soaked in wine.
Foot Qi invading the abdomen, suffocating distress: Six sheng of Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu), two Papayas. Slice. Decoct in thirteen sheng of water until three sheng remain. Divide into three doses.
Sudden choking: Coat mouth with honey and eat; food slides down.
Another prescription: Contain fine bran from pestle heads; swallows easily.
Another prescription: A date-sized amount of old ox saliva. Drink in water; prevents choking for life.
Caries and worm-tooth pain: Cut White Horse Hoof (Baima Xuantí) into rice-sized pieces. Wrap in cotton, insert into painful cavity. No more than three applications.
Another prescription (Household method): Put a small amount of wax from boiled wine into the carious hole. Heat an iron chopstick and cauterize the hole until wax melts; immediate cure.
Blindness/dim vision after febrile disease: Apply sheep gallbladder bile. Once morning and night.
Brighten eyes and prevent hair loss: Soak Locust Seeds (Huai Zi) in cow gallbladder. Dry in shade for 100 days. Swallow one pill after meals. Body feels light in 10 days; white hair turns black in 30 days.
Brighten eyes: Black soybeans. Swallow 14 on an empty stomach daily.
Another prescription: Collect Turnip Flowers (Manjing Hua) on the third day of the third lunar month. Dry in shade, powder, sieve. Take one cun cube with well water on an empty stomach. Long-term use allows reading small print at night.
Red eyes and nebula: Cuttlefish Bone (Wuzeigu) and Red Lead (Qiandan) in equal parts, finely ground. Mix with white honey to paste consistency. Steam for half a meal's duration. Cool and instill into eyes once daily.
Treating 30-year deafness: Soak 30 jin of old iron in 7 dou of water for three nights. Extract juice, add yeast, ferment 7 dou of rice according to standard wine-making methods. When ripe, add 1 jin of Magnetite (Cishi) powder. Soak in wine for three days. Drink until drunk. Wrap Magnetite in cotton, insert into ear. Cover head and sleep. Upon waking, remove magnetite; cured.
Deafness with tinnitus and discharge lasting 20+ years: Small amount of Alum (Fanshi). Mix with juice of fresh Acorus Rhizome (Changpu) root. Instill into ear.
Deafness: 14 Croton Seeds (Badou), half a liang of refined Pine Resin (Songzhi). Grind and make pills the size of millet grains. Wrap in cotton. Insert into ear with a hairpin tip. Change once daily. If medicine hardens, apply mild heat/moxa until fluid exits; excellent.
Another prescription: Acorus Rhizome (Changpu) and Aconite Root (Fuzi) in equal parts. Powder. Mix with sesame oil. Wrap in cotton, insert into ear.
Another prescription: Crush Mustard Seeds. Mix with male infant's milk. Wrap in cotton, insert into ear.
Another prescription: Dig a pit holding about two sheng. Place charcoal fire inside. Shape like a cellar. Cover opening with brick. Make a small hole in brick for one finger. Place one sheng of Rehmannia Root (Dihuang) on the brick hole. Cover with wooden basin, seal bottom with mud to prevent leakage. Drill a small hole in basin bottom for a chopstick. Place three layers of cloth over this hole. Position ear over the basin to fumigate. If stuffy, remove yellow water. Wrap salt in hair and plug ear. Within 2-3 sessions, miraculous effect.
Another prescription: Soak two sheng of Vitex Fruit (Mu Jing Zi) in three sheng of wine. Crush. Soak for seven days. Strain. Drink freely. Cures 30-year deafness.
Another prescription: Sulfur (Huang) and Realgar (Xiong Huang) in equal parts. Powder. Wrap in cotton, insert into ear. Hearing returns in a few days.
