Seven syndromes, one main prescription with four variations, six attached prescriptions.
Yin Yi disease (a type of post-infectious transmission disease) following Shanghan (Cold Damage), presents with heavy body, shortness of breath, urgency and pain in the lower abdomen, or traction spasms in the external genitalia, heat rushing up to the chest, heaviness of the head making it difficult to lift, visual disturbances such as seeing spots, redness and swelling of the eyelids, and stiffness and cramping of the knees and calves. It is treated with Shao Kun San (Burned Underwear Powder). Prescription:
Take the inner garment worn by a woman close to the skin, cut the part near the genital area, and burn it into ash.
The above single ingredient is mixed with water and administered in a dose of Fang Cun Bi (a square-inch measure, approx. 2-3 grams) three times a day. Once urination becomes smooth and the glans penis swells slightly, this indicates recovery.
After a major illness, relapse due to overexertion is treated with Zhishi Zhizi Tang (Immature Bitter Orange and Gardenia Decoction). Prescription:
Zhishi (Immature Bitter Orange Fruit, three pieces, stir-fried)
Chidou Chi (Fermented Soybean, one sheng, wrapped in silk gauze)
Zhizi (Gardenia Fruit, fourteen pieces, broken open)
The above three ingredients are decocted in seven sheng of vinegar juice. First, boil until four sheng remain. Then add the remaining two ingredients and boil until two sheng remain. Finally, add Chidou Chi and boil for five or six boils. Strain the dregs and divide into two doses to be taken warm. If there is retained food stagnation, add Dahuang (Rhubarb Root) pieces the size of chess dice (five to six pieces); taking this will lead to recovery.
After recovery from Shanghan, if fever recurs, Xiaochaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) is indicated. If the pulse is floating, resolve via sweating; if the pulse is deep and solid (or tight), resolve via purgation.
After a major illness, if there is fluid retention below the waist, Musli Zexie San (Oyster Shell and Alisma Powder) is indicated. Prescription:
Muli (Oyster Shell, roasted)
Zexie (Alisma Rhizome)
Shuqi (Periploca Root Bark, washed)
Shanglu (Phytolacca Root)

Haizao (Sargassum Thallus, washed)
Gualougen (Trichosanthes Root, equal parts of each)
The above seven ingredients are crushed and sifted into a powder. Take one Fang Cun Bi dose with warm water, three times a day. Urination will become smooth upon administration.
After the resolution of Shanghan, if the patient presents with emaciation, shortness of breath, and rebellious Qi causing nausea, Zhuye Shigao Tang (Bamboo Leaf and Gypsum Decoction) is indicated. Prescription:
Zhuye (Bamboo Leaf, two handfuls)
Banxia (Pinellia Tuber, half a sheng, washed)

After a major illness, if the patient frequently spits saliva that cannot be controlled for a long time, this is due to Cold in the upper Jiao (Chest). It should be warmed; Lizhong Wan (Regulate the Middle Pill) is suitable. If the patient's pulse has normalized but they experience slight irritability in the late afternoon, this is because the illness has just resolved, and forced eating overwhelms the still weak Spleen and Stomach Qi, which cannot digest the food, causing slight irritability. Reducing food intake will lead to recovery.

Wuchengzi's Yinghuo Wan (Flame Fire Pill) repels diseases, evil qi, ghosts, and toxins from tigers, wolves, snakes, vipers, bees, scorpions, etc., as well as weapons, thieves, and violent harm. Formerly, General Guan Jun and Governor of Wuwei, Liu Zinan, received this prescription from Master Yin. In the twelfth year of Yongping, during a defeat against barbarians at the northern border, his soldiers were nearly annihilated. Liu Zinan was surrounded, arrows fell like rain, stopping mere feet from his horse. The enemy believed him to be a divine being and lifted the siege. Liu Zinan taught this formula to his sons and brothers who became generals; none were ever injured. It was kept secret for generations. At the end of the Han Dynasty, the Green Ox Taoist obtained it and passed it to Huangfu Long of Anding, who passed it to Emperor Wu of Wei (Cao Cao). Thus, it gradually spread. It is also known as Guan Jun Wan or Wuwei Wan. Prescription:
Yinghuo (Firefly)

Xionghuang (Realgar)

Place five pills in a triangular crimson silk bag, wear on the left arm. If going to war, tie it to the waist and do not separate from it. Hanging it on household doors strongly repels thieves and prevents disaster.
