分别取纯净药末。遇到病症时，用芦管吹入患处。

用井华水四碗。放入一把剔牙松叶。煎煮至剩三碗。加入人中白三钱。研磨至极细。每碗加入一钱。调匀。

(Treating Yin deficiency with fire scorching. Caused by worry, thought, depression, and anxiety, leading to throat conditions.)
Xiao Shengdi (Cortex Rehmanniae Recens) (3 qian), Yinhua (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae), Yuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae) (each 1.5 qian), Guangpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae) (0.7 qian), Yuanzhi (Radix Polygalae), Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri) (each 0.8 qian), Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis) (1 qian).
Take five to seven doses. Simultaneously using blowing powder can lead to recovery.
After both conditions recover, take Qingyan Yi Huo Wan (Clear Throat Suppress Fire Pill) (see Formula 18 later) for ten days to prevent recurrence.
(Treating the initial stage of all throat conditions.)
Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis), Yinhua (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae) (1.5 qian), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (1 qian), Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (1.2 qian), Shengdi (Cortex Rehmanniae Recens), Yuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae), Chiling (Poria Cocos cum Ligno Rubrum) (each 2 qian), Jingjie (Herba Schizonepetae).
Add Dengxin (Medulla Junci) (1 fen) as a guiding herb. Decoct with Dijiangshui (Earth Spring Water).
(Treating pharyngeal tonsillitis [ru e]. All throat conditions. Blowing in the powder yields immediate effect.)
Chuan Beimu (Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae), Sheng Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (each 3 qian), Huafen (Radix Platycodonis - *Note: Text says Huafen which is usually Tianhuafen, but listed with Shigao/Mangxiao often implies cooling heat; assuming Tianhuafen/Fructus Trichosanthis based on context of throat heat, though strictly Huafen is Radix Platycodonis. However, standard TCM uses Hua Fen for Fructus Trichosanthis. Let's stick to literal translation of term Huafen which is often synonymous with Tianhuafen in older texts or distinct. Given "Shi Gao" and "Mang Xiao", it's likely Tianhuafen. I will use Fructus Trichosanthis*), Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas).
The above medicines are each ground into fine powder. Mix evenly with one gallbladder from a male pig. Air dry. Grind into fine powder again.
(Specially treating Hou Feng [wind in throat], Hou Bi [obstruction in throat], single ru e, double ru e, etc. Not suitable for those with throat pain due to Yin deficiency.)
Dangmenzi (Moschus), Xin Jiang Ziren (Semen Crotonis Tiglii) (oil removed), Zhen Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum), Mahuang (Herba Ephedrae) (each 1 qian), Xixin (Radix Asari), Shandougen (Radix Sophorae Tonkinensis) (each 5 fen), Zhen Xiuniuhuang (Calculus Bovis).
Take pure powders separately. When symptoms occur, use a reed tube to blow into the affected area.
(Treating swelling and pain in the throat, or ulceration, bleeding, severe chills and fever, etc.)
Use four bowls of Jinghua Shui (First-drawn Well Water). Add a handful of Tiya Songye (Leaves of Pinus tabuliformis used for cleaning teeth). Decoct until three bowls remain. Add Renzhongbai (Urea Crystallisatum) 3 qian. Grind extremely fine. Add one qian to each bowl. Mix evenly.
Kufan (Alumen Usticum) (2 qian), Sangjian (Cocon Bombyx) (burned to ash), Jizhenpi (Gizzard Skin of Gallus Gallus Domesticus) (each 1 qian burned to ash), Xizhubiwo (Spider Web from Happy Spider) (21 pieces burned to ash), Zhenzhu (Concha Margaritifera) (3 fen).
Grind together into powder until no sound is heard. Use a reed tube to blow into the affected area.
Another method for treating patients with ru e who have already lost consciousness but retain slight warmth at the heart center. During the Sanjiu period of winter, take feces from an old sow. Place it on the roof. Sun-dry during the day and expose to night dew.
