[Dissertation] The so-called "Chuan Shi Lao" (Lao Disease transmitted from corpse) is a type of Gu Zheng (Bone-steaming disease), where the pathogenic factor spreads through the Five Zang Organs. Its symptoms include: lying half-reclined and half-sitting; waking up clear-headed in the morning but experiencing slight fever in the afternoon; frequent dissatisfaction in mood, with much palpitations and fright in the heart; night sweats; dreaming of sexual intercourse with ghosts; redness on both cheeks; lips resembling blood color; desire to sleep but inability to do so; desire to eat but inability to swallow; sometimes rapid panting and coughing, fullness and oppression in the chest and heart, vexatious pain in the back and shoulders; bright eyes (but lacking spirit); weakness in the four limbs; stiffness and tension in the spine; soreness and pain in the knees and shins; emptiness and distension in the two hypochondria; occasional mild diarrhea; dry nose and mouth; gradual emaciation and wasting. Although death may occur at any moment, the spirit remains clear. This is its clinical manifestation. If treatment is delayed, it is like water drying up, leading to death imperceptibly.
