论曰咽喉者，肺脾经所主也。小儿肺脾有热，蕴积上焦，熏发喉间，故令咽喉赤肿，吞
吐不利。或塞或壅，憎寒壮热，咳嗽痰涎，是其候也。昔人谓脏热则咽门肿而闭塞，岂虚言

治小儿热病口烂，咽喉生疮，水浆不下。当归膏方
当归（去芦头锉炒） 射干（锉） 升麻（锉各一两） 附子（半两炮去皮脐锉） 白
蜜（四合）
上五味切，以猪脂四两。先煎成油，后纳诸药入于油中，用文火熬令附子黄色，滤去滓。
投蜜更熬一两沸成膏，以瓷器收。每取杏仁大含化，咽津无妨，日三四用之。

治小儿忽肿毒着咽喉。露蜂房散方

论述说：咽喉，是由肺经和脾经所主管的。小儿如果肺、脾有热邪，蕴结积聚在上焦，熏蒸发于喉间，就会导致咽喉红肿，吞咽和吐出不利。或者出现堵塞、壅滞，憎恶寒冷且高热，咳嗽伴有痰涎，这些都是其症状表现。古人说脏腑有热则咽门肿胀而闭塞，这难道是空话吗？

治疗小儿咽喉颈部肿胀，啼哭不出声。牛黄散方
牛黄（研半分） 代赭石（三两） 麝香（研半钱） 玄参（三分） 厚朴（去粗皮生姜汁炙三分） 升麻（一两） 射干（半两） 大黄（锉炒一两一分） 木香（三分） 白术（半两） 犀角（镑屑三分） 甘草（炙半两）
以上十二味药，将其中十味捣碎过筛成细散，加入已研好的药物混合均匀，每次服用半钱匕。用人乳汁约一蛤蜊壳的量调服，空腹时每日一次。三岁至五岁以上儿童，每次服用一钱匕。用枣汤调服，米汤也可以，每日两次。
治疗小儿咽喉中有鸣响，咳嗽痰液壅盛。牵牛散方
牵牛子（炒半生半熟二两） 杏仁（去皮尖双仁炒） 甘草（炙） 吴茱萸（汤洗焙干炒） 陈皮（去白焙各一分）
以上五味药，捣碎过筛成细散，每次服用半钱匕。空腹时用沸水调服，轻微腹泻排出恶物后，病即痊愈，根据患儿大小增减剂量服用。

麻黄（去根节煎煮去沫焙干） 桑根白皮（锉） 桂枝（去粗皮各半两） 大黄（生用） 射干 杏仁（汤浸去皮尖双仁各一分）
以上六味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用一钱匕。用水半盏，煎至三分之一量，去渣温服。
治疗小儿咽喉肿胀，呼吸气息不利。黄柏汤方
黄柏（去粗皮蜜炙） 甘草（炙各一分）
以上两味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用一钱匕。用水半盏，煎至三四分，去渣温服，不限时候。
治疗小儿热病导致口腔溃烂，咽喉生疮，饮食难以下咽。当归膏方
当归（去芦头锉炒） 射干（锉） 升麻（锉各一两） 附子（半两炮制去皮脐锉） 白蜜（四合）
以上五味药切碎，用猪脂四两。先煎炼成油，然后将诸药放入油中，用文火熬至附子呈黄色，滤去药渣。投入蜂蜜再熬一两沸成为膏状，用瓷器盛装。每次取杏仁大小含化，咽下津液无妨，每日使用三到四次。
治疗小儿咽喉肿痛，毒瓦斯热极，咽喉堵塞不利。生姜汤方

以上三味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用一钱匕。水一盏，煎至四分，去渣分两次温服，早晨和中午各服一次。
治疗小儿膈热，唇口生疮，咽喉肿痛。玉芝散方
甘草（锉作半寸许劈破汤浸一日微炒） 石膏（研如粉各一两） 山栀子（去皮微炒二两） 藿香叶（半两）
以上四味药，捣碎研磨成细散，每次服用半钱匕。用新汲水调服，根据患儿大小增减剂量服用。

以上两味药，捣为细散，每次服用半钱匕。用白矾水调服，根据患儿大小增减剂量。
治疗小儿突然发生的肿毒附着于咽喉。露蜂房散方
露蜂房（烧灰） 白僵蚕（各一分）
以上两味药细研，每次服用半钱匕。用乳香汤调服，看患儿大小，酌情增减。
治疗小儿喉痹，血气结塞。千万不要刺破，只需用药通利。升麻汤方
升麻 木通（锉） 大黄（生用） 麻黄（去根节各一分） 犀角（镑） 石膏（碎） 甘草（生锉各半两） 朴硝（研一两）
以上八味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用二钱匕。水一盏，煎至七分，去渣根据患儿大小减量分次服用。
Commentary states: The throat and pharynx are governed by the Lung Meridian (Lung Channel) and Spleen Meridian (Spleen Channel). If children have heat in the Lungs and Spleen, it accumulates and stagnates in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner), steaming and flaring up in the throat. This causes redness and swelling of the throat, and difficulty in swallowing or vomiting. There may be obstruction or congestion, aversion to cold with high fever, coughing with sputum; these are the clinical manifestations. Ancients said that internal organ heat causes swelling and blockage of the pharyngeal gate; is this not true?
Kudzu Flower Pill Formula for treating children with rattling sounds in the throat, coughing, wheezing, and rapid breathing.
* *Tussilaginis Flos* (Kudzu Flower)
* *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Licorice Root), prepared by honey-frying
* *Asteris Radix* (Aster Root), cleaned of seedlings and soil
* *Ephedrae Herba* (Mahuang, Ephedra Stem), roots and nodes removed, boiled to remove foam, dried
* *Fritillariae Bulbus* (Beimu, Fritillaria Bulb), stir-fried with bran
* *Ophiopogonis Tuber* (Maidong, Ophiopogon Tuber), heart removed, dried
The above six herbs are crushed, sieved into fine powder, and mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of mung beans. Take 3 to 5 pills per dose after meals, washed down with rice water. For children over five years old, adjust the dosage as appropriate, three times daily.
Puxiao Powder for treating children with swelling of the throat and tongue, and difficulty in breathing.

The above twelve herbs: ten are crushed and sieved into fine powder, then mixed with the finely ground remaining two. Take half a "qian bi" (a specific measuring spoon) per dose. Mix with human breast milk (approximately one clam shell volume) and take on an empty stomach, once daily. For children aged three to over five, take one "qian bi" per dose. Can be taken with jujube soup or rice water, twice daily.
Qianniu Powder for treating children with rattling sounds in the throat, coughing, and excessive phlegm accumulation.
* *Semen Kochiae* (Qianniu, Kochia Seed), stir-fried (half raw, half cooked)
* *Semen Armeniacae Amarum* (Xingren, Apricot Kernel), skin and tip removed, double-kernel variety, stir-fried

The above five herbs are crushed and sieved into fine powder. Take half a "qian bi" per dose. On an empty stomach, mix with boiling water. Mild diarrhea expelling foul matter indicates recovery. Adjust dosage according to the child's size.
Mahuang Decoction for treating children with swollen and hot throat, lung distension with rapid breathing, and sensation of obstruction in the throat.

* *Mori Cortex Radicis* (Sangbaipiku, Mulberry Root Bark), cut
* *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi, Cinnamon Twig), bark removed

* *Belamcandae Rhizoma* (Shegan, Belamcanda Rhizome)
* *Semen Armeniacae Amarum* (Xingren, Apricot Kernel), soaked in water, skin and tip removed, double-kernel variety
The above six herbs are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take one "qian bi" per dose. Add half a cup of water, decoct until reduced to one-third, strain, and take warm.
Huangbai Decoction for treating children with swollen throat and difficulty in breathing.
* *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai, Phellodendron Bark), bark removed, honey-fried
* *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao, Licorice Root), prepared by dry-frying
The above two herbs are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take one "qian bi" per dose. Add half a cup of water, decoct until reduced to three or four parts, strain, and take warm at any time.
Dangui Ointment for treating children with heat disease causing oral ulcers, sores in the throat, and inability to swallow fluids.
* *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui, Angelica Root), radix head removed, cut and stir-fried
* *Belamcandae Rhizoma* (Shegan, Belamcanda Rhizome), cut
* *Cimicifugae Rhizoma* (Shengma, Cimicifuga Rhizome), cut
* *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi, Prepared Aconite Lateral Root), peeled, navel removed, cut
* *Mel* (Bai Mi, White Honey)
The above five herbs are chopped. Use four taels of lard. First render the fat, then add the herbs to the oil. Simmer over low heat until the Aconite turns yellow, then filter out the dregs. Add honey and boil for one more round of boiling to form an ointment. Store in porcelain. Take an amount the size of an apricot kernel to dissolve in the mouth. Swallowing saliva is acceptable. Use three to four times daily.
Shengjiang Decoction for treating children with sore throat, extreme toxic heat, and throat blockage.
* *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens* (Shengjiang, Fresh Ginger), sliced
* *Cimicifugae Rhizoma* (Shengma, Cimicifuga Rhizome), cut
* *Belamcandae Rhizoma* (Shegan, Belamcanda Rhizome), cut

The above four herbs are cut like hemp seeds. Take three "qian bi" per dose. Add one cup of water, decoct until reduced to seven parts, strain, and take warm.
Shengma Decoction for treating children with sore throat, high fever, restlessness, and unquenchable thirst.

* *Belamcandae Rhizoma* (Shegan, Belamcanda Rhizome)
* *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Dahuang, Rhubarb Root), cut and stir-fried
The above three herbs are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take one "qian bi" per dose. Add one cup of water, decoct until reduced to four parts, strain, divide into two warm doses, taking one in the morning and one at noon.
Yuzhi Powder for treating children with heat in the diaphragm, sores on lips and mouth, and sore throat.
* *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao, Licorice Root), cut into half-inch pieces, split, soaked in water for one day, slightly stir-fried
* *Gypsum Fibrosum* (Shigao, Gypsum)
* *Gardeniae Fructus* (Shanzhizi, Gardenia Fruit), skin removed, slightly stir-fried
* *Agastachis Folium* (Huoxiangye, Agastache Leaf)
The above four herbs are crushed and ground into fine powder. Take half a "qian bi" per dose. Mix with fresh well water. Adjust dosage according to the child's size.
Longnao Pill for treating children with wind-heat, swollen and blocked throat with sores, head shaking, irritability, and abdominal pain from insect bites.

The above six herbs are finely ground together. Add a little rock sugar and form pills the size of sophora seeds. Dissolve one pill in cold water and administer.
Kuyaozi Powder for treating children with sore throat.
