论曰小儿童舌者，舌本之下，或如卧蚕，亦如小舌之状。此由心脾二脏壅热所致，盖心
主舌，脾之络脉连舌本，散舌下。故二脏有热，热随脉上。至于舌本之下，血脉胀起，变生
重舌，宜急治之，刺法中论，刺舌下两边出血，后以药治之。不然，即满口塞喉，便致危殆。
治心脾经为邪热所客，重舌肿胀，语声不出，水饮不下。三物备急丸方
大黄（锉炒） 干姜（炮） 巴豆（去皮心膜各等分）
上三味，捣研为末，炼蜜丸如绿豆大。每服五丸，温水下，大便利为度。
治小儿重舌、强不能收唾。鹿角散方
鹿角末（一两）
上一味，每用少许，敷舌上，日三度。
治小儿重舌，口中生疮涎出。桂矾敷方。
桂（去粗皮一分） 白矾（烧令汁尽半分）
上二味，捣研为末，干敷舌上，日三。
又方
蒲黄 露蜂房（各一分） 白鱼（烧灰一钱）
上三味，都研令匀。用酒少许调，敷重舌上，日三。
治小儿重舌。蛇蜕皮方
上取蛇蜕皮，烧作灰，涂舌下。一法、以醋调，鹅毛掠舌下，愈。
又方
上以乌贼鱼骨烧灰，和鸡子黄，涂喉及舌上，瘥。
又方
上取黄柏，以竹沥渍取汁。细细点口中，良。
又方
上以嚼粟哺之，瘥。
治重舌。衣鱼散方
上取衣鱼，烧作灰敷舌上。
治小儿重舌，口中疮，涎出。蒲黄敷方
上以蒲黄敷舌上，不过三次，愈。

上取乱发烧灰，敷舌下，良。

上取木兰皮一尺，广四寸，削去粗皮，细锉。以苦酒一升，煮取半升，适寒温，渍两手

上取桑汁涂乳饮之。
论述说：小儿患重舌病，是在舌根下方，有的像卧着的蚕，也有的像小舌头一样的形状。这是由于心和脾两脏壅滞有热所导致的，因为心主管舌头，脾的络脉连接舌根，散布在舌下。所以这两脏如果有热，热气就会顺着经脉上行。到了舌根下方，血脉胀起，变生为重舌，应当紧急治疗。在刺法篇中论述过，针刺舌下两边使其出血，之后用药治疗。如果不这样，就会导致满口堵塞咽喉，从而造成危险。
治疗心和脾经被邪热侵袭，导致重舌肿胀，说话声音发不出，水饮无法咽下的方剂：三物备急丸方
大黄（切碎炒制） 干姜（炮制） 巴豆（去皮、心、膜，各等分）
以上三味药，捣碎研成细末，用炼蜜制成如绿豆大小的丸药。每次服用五丸，温水送服，以大便通畅为度。
治疗小儿重舌、僵硬不能吞咽唾液的方剂：鹿角散方
鹿角末（一两）
以上一味药，每次取少许，敷在舌上，每天三次。
治疗小儿重舌，口中生疮流涎的方剂：桂矾敷方
桂（去掉粗皮一分） 白矾（烧至汁液流尽半分）
以上两味药，捣碎研成细末，干撒敷在舌上，每天三次。
又一方
蒲黄 露蜂房（各一分） 白鱼（烧成灰一钱）
以上三味药，一起研磨均匀。用少许酒调匀，敷在重舌上，每天三次。
治疗小儿重舌的方剂：蛇蜕皮方
以上取蛇蜕下的皮，烧成灰，涂抹在舌下。另一种方法，用醋调匀，用鹅毛刷拭舌下，即可痊愈。
又一方
以上取乌贼鱼骨烧成灰，和鸡蛋黄混合，涂抹在喉咙及舌上，即可痊愈。
又一方
以上取黄柏，用竹沥浸泡取汁。细细地点入口中，效果很好。
又一方
以上用嚼碎的粟米喂食患儿，即可痊愈。
治疗重舌的方剂：衣鱼散方
以上取衣鱼（蠹虫），烧成灰敷在舌上。
治疗小儿重舌，口中生疮，流涎的方剂：蒲黄敷方
以上用蒲黄敷在舌上，不超过三次，即可痊愈。
治疗小儿重舌快要死去的方剂：方
以上取乱发烧成灰，敷在舌下，效果很好。
治疗小儿重舌的方剂：木兰皮方
以上取木兰皮一尺，宽四寸，削去粗皮，切碎。用苦酒（醋）一升，煮取半升，温度适宜时，浸泡双手，约一顿饭的时间感到轻微口渴。片刻后变干，再浸泡双足，干了再泡，效果非常好。
Discussion states: In children suffering from Chong She (Double Tongue), the area beneath the root of the tongue may appear like a lying silkworm or resemble a small tongue. This condition is caused by heat accumulation and stagnation in the Heart and Spleen organs. The Heart governs the tongue, and the collaterals of the Spleen connect to the root of the tongue and spread beneath it. Therefore, when there is heat in these two organs, the heat ascends along the meridians. Upon reaching the area beneath the tongue root, the blood vessels become distended, resulting in Chong She (Double Tongue). It should be treated urgently. As discussed in the section on acupuncture methods, one should prick both sides beneath the tongue to induce bleeding, followed by herbal treatment. Otherwise, the mouth and throat may become completely blocked, leading to a critical and dangerous situation.

Da Huang (Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma, chopped and stir-fried) Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger Rhizome, processed) Ba Dou (Crotonis Fructus, skin, core, and membrane removed, equal parts)
The above three ingredients are pounded and ground into powder. Honey is refined to form pills the size of mung beans. Take five pills per dose, swallowed with warm water. Continue until bowel movements become loose.
Formula for treating pediatric Chong She (Double Tongue) and rigidity preventing the swallowing of saliva: Lu Jiao San (Deer Horn Powder)
Lu Jiao Mo (Deer Antler Powder, 1 liang)
Take a small amount of the above single ingredient and apply it to the tongue. Apply three times daily.
Formula for treating pediatric Chong She (Double Tongue) with sores in the mouth and salivation: Gui Fan Fu (Cinnamon and Alum Application)
Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, coarse bark removed, 1 fen) Bai Fan (Alumen, calcined until liquid evaporates, 0.5 fen)
The above two ingredients are pounded and ground into powder. Apply dry powder to the tongue. Apply three times daily.
Another formula
Pu Huang (Lygodii Spora) Lu Feng Fang (Vespa Nidus, exposed to dew), each 1 fen; Bai Yu (Lepisma saccharina, burned to ash, 1 qian)
Grind the above three ingredients uniformly. Mix with a small amount of wine and apply to the Chong She (Double Tongue). Apply three times daily.
Formula for treating pediatric Chong She (Double Tongue): She Tui Pi Fang (Snake Slough Formula)
Obtain snake slough, burn it to ash, and apply to beneath the tongue. Another method: mix with vinegar and brush beneath the tongue with a goose feather. This will lead to recovery.
Another formula
Burn Oo Sepiae Os (Cuttlebone) to ash, mix with Ji Zi Huang (Yolks of Gallus Domesticus Egg), and apply to the throat and tongue. This will lead to recovery.
Another formula
Take Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), soak it in Zhu Li (Bambusae Succus) to extract the juice. Drip carefully into the mouth. This is effective.

Take Mu Lan Pi (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), one chi long and four cun wide. Remove the coarse bark and chop finely. Boil in Ku Jiu (Acetum, vinegar) one sheng until reduced to half a sheng. When the temperature is suitable, soak both hands. After about the time it takes to eat a meal, if slightly thirsty, wipe them dry. Then soak both feet. Repeat soaking and drying. This is highly effective.
Formula for treating pediatric Chong She (Double Tongue): Formula
Burn Zeng Dai (Ash from the cloth lining of a steamer) and apply.

Extract Sang Zhi (Mori Ramulus) juice, apply to the nipple, and let the infant suckle.
