少阳相火与君火共同司掌天运，阳明燥金在地下主事，中间显现太商金运。岁金太过，气化运行先于时令而至，属于“坚成”的纪年。

Shaoyang Junhuo (Ministerial Fire) governs the Heaven, Yangming Zaojin (Dryness Metal) governs the Earth, and the middle reveals Taishang Jinyun (Excessive Metal Movement). The year's Metal is excessive; its Qi transformation operates ahead of the season. This is the "Jiancheng" (Firm Completion) cycle.
The cycle is named "Shang Zheng," identical to the normal "Shang" (Metal) movement. It is also said that Taishang is added below Yangming. Being excessive and adding to the same Qi, it is called "Tong Tian Fu" (Same Heaven Fu). Tian Fu is regarded as the enforcer of law. This is referred to as the transformation of Pingqi (Balanced Qi), named the "Shenping" (Judicious Peace) cycle. It gathers without contention, kills without violation. The five transformations are declared clear. Its Qi is pure, its nature is rigid, its function is scattering, its transformation is firm and gathering. Its governance is vigorous and severe, its climate is clear and biting, its command is dryness. Its category is Metal, corresponding to Autumn. Its grain is rice, its fruit is peach, its substance has a hard shell, its insect is the shelled type, its animal is the chicken, its object is externally hard, its color is white, its taste is pungent, its musical note is Shang, and its number is nine. In humans, it corresponds to the Zang organ Lung, the orifice Nose, the body tissue Skin and Hair, and the disease Cough. This is what the annual movement governs.
Heaven and Earth Qi: Heat transformation is above; left is soft transformation, right is moving transformation. Thus, the Qi distributed by Heaven's administration is bright. Pungent transformation is below; left is storing transformation, right is bright transformation. Thus, Earth Qi is肃 (solemn/severe) and its command is biting. The Qi of these two years exchanging office: Cold meets Summer heat. The corresponding Qi of Heaven and Earth: Heat adds Dryness. Clouds race to the Rain Mansion, Humidity transformation proceeds, timely rain descends. Metal and Fire combine their virtue, reflecting above on Yinghuo (Mars) and Taibai (Venus). Feathered insects are quiet, shelled insects breed. This is what suits the year's substances. Hairy insects suffer, damp toxins do not arise. This is restricted by Earth Qi. Water, Fire, Cold, and Heat hold at the Qi intersection, where diseases begin. Heat diseases arise from above, Clear diseases arise from lower. Cold and Heat invade each other and contend in the middle. People suffer from coughing and wheezing, blood effusion, blood discharge, nasal congestion, sneezing, red eyes, sores. Cold jue enters the Stomach, causing Heart pain, Waist pain, abdominal distension, dry throat, and upper swelling.
Before the midpoint of the year, Shaoyin Junhuo (Ministerial Fire) governs Heaven. Shaoyin's transformation has differences between Ben (Root) and Biao (Branch). When Cold and Heat are balanced, its Qi harmonizes without excess heat or tyranny. After the midpoint of the year, Yangming Zaojin (Dryness Metal) governs Earth. Yangming does not follow Ben and Biao but transforms via Zhongqi (Middle Qi). Dryness and Dampness combine, its transformation becomes peaceful without excess dryness tyranny. In this year, Metal is balanced without Shengfu (Overcoming and Repaying). Do not take the source of transformation; only assist the year's victory. Break the stagnant Qi, do not let violence exceed and cause disease. The year should use Salty-Cold to regulate the Upper, Sour-Warm to calm the Lower, and Pungent-Warm to regulate the Middle. Eat red and white grains to preserve True Qi. Eat grains of inter-qi to ward off empty evils. The movement is similar to Earth Qi; many warm-hot transformations are suitable. Two Fires overcome the Movement. Also distributed by Heaven's administration, so Great Fire moves. All classes flourish and are fresh. Cold Qi arrives at times. Final Qi: From Wu Zheng of Xiao Xue day to Chen Zheng of Da Han day, totaling over 60 days. Main Position: Shaoyu Water. Guest Qi: Yangming Metal. Middle sees Metal Movement. Metal Qi agrees, Water Qi generates it. It is also the governing Qi of the year. Metal Qi becomes balanced, so Dryness command moves. Residual Fire is internally blocked. People suffer from upper swelling, coughing and wheezing, severe cases have blood effusion. Cold Qi frequently rises, fog obscures. Disease arises in skin and couli, internally resides in hypochondrium, connects downward to lower abdomen causing cold center. Regulate the Guest of Yangming with Sour to tonify, Pungent to drain, Bitter to drain. Use white grains for the year, Sorghum for inter-grains, to avoid harm from Dryness evil.
