上八味，粗捣筛，每服五钱匕，水一盏半，入竹叶七片，煎至八分，去滓投芒硝半钱匕
，放温食后服，临卧再服。
治风热目赤生疮，点眼蕤仁膏方
蕤仁（去皮研如膏半两） 青盐（末一钱） 龙脑（少许）
上三味同研，用儿孩子乳汁少许，调和如膏，每以麻子大，日三五上点之。
治眼热赤生疮，退翳，清凉包子方
黄连（一分细为末宣州者）
上一味，用新水一碗，面东扑取倒流水些小，将黄连末匀渗在碗内，用熟艾一块，如鸡
子大，安在古老钱七文上，四面更用青铜钱四十文，足作垛子，复黄连碗在上，点火烧艾，
候烟尽，便扫下黄连末，用夹绢袋子盛了，取儿孩子奶汁浸，时时点在眼中，觉口中苦透为
度，如暴赤眼用之，立效。
治赤眼生疮肿痛，搐鼻散方
道人头（三两细为末） 乳香（一钱）
上二味为末，每用一钱，香饼子上烧烟，搐鼻内。
治赤眼有疮，及生 肉，日夜难开，酸痛，点眼 猪胆方
猪胆干者（如枣许大） 杏仁（汤浸去皮研七枚） 朴硝（一钱） 龙脑（一字）
上四味，先将杏仁，入乳钵中，研令细，次下三味同研，以合盛经一宿，每点如黍米大
，内目 中，眼中冷泪出，至一十日自瘥，慎之，其药密复，勿令见风。
治眼风赤涩隐，肿疼生疮，点眼黄连散方
黄连（去须末） 蕤仁（去皮各一分） 胡粉（一钱）
上三味，先将蕤仁去膜，于铜器中，用槐木杵研令极细如粉，次入黄连末胡粉，合和更
研，取细为度，每夜卧点一黍米，在目 头，不过三两上瘥。
治肝虚风痒，生疮泪多者，点眼蕤仁膏方
蕤仁（去皮研一分） 胡粉（如棋子许大于火上烧变赤如金色者佳） 龙脑（一钱）
上三味，先将胡粉蕤仁别研，取好真酥如杏核许同研，次入龙脑，研令极细如膏，用油
帛裹，或铜合子盛，勿泄气受风，或有小儿胎赤，并大人久患赤痒眼痛，宜先取盐花少许，
用酸浆水一升，煎至五沸，以绵滤取汁，夜卧、先以清水洗，次以盐花水洗眼，拭令干，以
爪甲挑取麻子许，点眼 ，任眼开合。须臾泪出，目中凉冷，状若人吹，视物渐明。
论述说：眼睛内部生疮，是因为脾脏有热毒，向上熏蒸，郁结而不能发散，从而导致眼睑内部生出疮疡。在发病初期，或者发痒，或者疼痛，发作没有规律，或者眼屎和眼泪增多。颜色有时像丹砂一样红，于是逐渐形成翳膜。《龙木论》认为不宜使用点药或针灸治疗，只适宜服用泻脾清膈的药剂，因为要荡涤病源根本，应当如此。
治疗眼睛内部生疮，红肿溃烂、发痒、怕风，决明散方：
石决明（刮洗干净后二两，研细） 麦门冬（去心焙干） 菊花（各一两） 白附子（炮制半两） 枸杞子 沉香 柏子仁 羌活
以上十二味药，捣碎过筛成散剂，每次服用三钱匕，空腹时用菊花汤送服，临睡前再服一次。
治疗眼睛生疮，疼痛、红肿、心烦、视物不清，蕤仁丸方：

以上十六味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂，每次服用三十丸，空腹时用米汤送下。
治疗肝肺热毒，气机上攻双眼，生疮红肿疼痛，决明子丸方：
决明子（微炒） 菊花 秦皮（去掉粗皮切碎） 黄连（去须，各一两） 车前子 地骨皮（各一两半） 羚羊角（镑屑） 黄芩（去掉黑心） 葳蕤 山栀子（去皮） 生干地黄（焙干） 秦艽（去苗土，各一两） 青葙子 白茯苓（去掉黑皮，各一两半） 升麻（一两）

治疗风热上攻，眼睑生疮，疼痛不止，犀角汤方：

以上六味药，粗捣过筛，每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏，煎至六分，去渣后加入芒硝半钱匕，放温后饭后服用，临睡前再服一次。
治疗肝心热毒，眼睛生疮及异物感疼痛，栀子汤方：
栀子仁（半两） 犀角屑（一两） 木通（切碎） 黄芩（去掉黑心，各半两） 大黄（切碎炒制） 瞿麦穗（各一两） 黄连（去须，三分） 车前子（一两）
以上八味药，粗捣过筛，每次服用五钱匕，用水一盏半，加入竹叶七片，煎至八分，去渣后加入芒硝半钱匕，放温后饭后服用，临睡前再服一次。
治疗风热导致眼睛发红生疮，点眼用的蕤仁膏方：
蕤仁（去皮研如膏状，半两） 青盐（研末一钱） 龙脑（少许）
以上三味药一同研匀，用少许幼儿乳汁调和成膏状，每次取芝麻大小，每日点眼三到五次。
治疗眼睛热盛发红生疮，退除翳膜，清凉包子方：
黄连（一分，细研为末，选用宣州产者）
以上一味药，用一碗新汲水，面向东方舀取倒流水少许，将黄连末均匀撒入碗中。取一块熟艾绒，大小如鸡蛋，放在七枚古铜钱上，四周再用四十枚青铜钱堆叠成垛状，将盛有黄连的碗放在上面，点火燃烧艾绒。待烟烧尽后，扫下碗内的黄连末，用双层绢袋盛装。取幼儿奶汁浸泡，时时点在眼中，直到感觉口中苦透为止。如果是暴发性赤眼，使用此方立竿见影。
治疗赤眼生疮肿痛，搐鼻用的散方：
道人头（三两，细研为末） 乳香（一钱）
以上两味药研为末，每次取一钱，在香饼子上烧烟，吸入鼻腔内。
治疗赤眼有疮，以及长出息肉，日夜难以睁开，酸痛，点眼用的猪胆方：
干燥的猪胆（如枣核大小） 杏仁（热水浸泡去皮，研碎七枚） 朴硝（一钱） 龙脑（一字量）
以上四味药，先将杏仁放入乳钵中研细，再加入其余三味药一同研匀，装入容器中密封存放一夜。每次点眼如黍米大小，滴入眼中，眼中流出冷泪，十天自然痊愈。注意保密药物，不要让它见风。
治疗眼睛风邪致红涩隐痛、肿胀生疮，点眼用的黄连散方：
黄连（去须研末） 蕤仁（去皮，各一分） 胡粉（一钱）
以上三味药，先将蕤仁去掉内膜，在铜器中用槐木杵研磨至极细如粉状，然后加入黄连末和胡粉，混合再研，以细腻为度。每晚睡前点一粒黍米大小于眼角，不超过三到五次即可痊愈。
治疗肝虚风痒，生疮流泪多者，点眼用的蕤仁膏方：
蕤仁（去皮研一分） 胡粉（如棋子大小，在火上烧至变赤如金色为佳） 龙脑（一钱）
以上三味药，先将胡粉和蕤仁分别研细，取优质真酥如杏核大小一同研匀，再加入龙脑，研磨至极细如膏状。用油纸包裹，或用铜盒盛装，防止漏气和受风。如果有小儿胎赤，以及大人久患赤痒眼痛，宜先取少许盐花，用酸浆水一升，煎至沸腾五次，用绵布过滤取汁。夜晚睡觉时，先用清水清洗，再用盐花水洗眼，擦干后用指甲挑取芝麻大小的药膏点入眼中，任眼睛开合。片刻后流泪，眼中感到凉冷，如同有人吹气一般，视力逐渐清晰。
Discussion states: Sores arising within the eye are caused by toxic heat in the Spleen steaming upwards, becoming stagnant and unable to disperse, thereby leading to sores forming inside the eyelids. In the initial stage of onset, there may be itching or pain, with irregular episodes, or increased ocular discharge (Muci) and tearing. The color may resemble Cinnabar red, followed by the gradual formation of a corneal opacity (Yi Mo). The *Longmu Lun* (Treatise on Dragon Wood) states that point medication and acupuncture are not suitable; rather, it is appropriate to administer decoctions that purge the Spleen and clear the Diaphragm, as this eliminates the root cause of the disease.
Decoction for Treating Sores Inside the Eye, Redness, Ulceration, Itching, and Photophobia: Jue Ming San Formula
Haliotidis Concha (Shucked, washed clean, two liang, ground), Ophiopogonis Radix (Heart removed, dried), Chrysanthemi Flos (one liang each), Bai Fu Zi (Processed, half liang), Lycii Fructus, Aquiae Lignum Resinatum, Platycladi Semen, Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix.
Twelve ingredients above. Pound and sieve into powder. Take three qian bi per dose, administered with Chrysanthemi Decoction on an empty stomach, and again before bed.
Pill for Treating Eye Sores, Pain, Redness and Swelling, Restlessness, and Blurred Vision: Rui Ren Wan Formula
Pruni Semen Persicae (Skin removed), Cassiae Semen (Lightly fried), Fraxini Cortex (Rough bark removed, chopped), Plantaginis Semen, Chrysanthemi Flos, Coptidis Rhizoma (Fibers removed), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Branches removed), Isatidis Fructus, Sophorae Fructus (one liang half each), Bupleuri Radix (Sprouts removed), Ginseng Radix, Poria Cocos (Black skin removed), Dioscoreae Rhizoma, Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Chopped, fried until fragrant, one liang each), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Roasted, one liang half).
Sixteen ingredients above. Pound and sieve into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, administered with rice water on an empty stomach.
Pill for Treating Toxic Heat in Liver and Lung, Qi Attacking Both Eyes, Causing Sores, Redness, and Pain: Jue Ming Zi Wan Formula
Cassiae Semen (Lightly fried), Chrysanthemi Flos, Fraxini Cortex (Rough bark removed, chopped), Coptidis Rhizoma (Fibers removed, one liang each), Plantaginis Semen, Lycii Cortex Radicis (one liang half each), Saigae Tataricae Cornu (Shavings), Scutellariae Radix (Black heart removed), Polygoni Multiflori Caulis, Gardeniae Fructus (Skin removed), Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Dried), Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix (Sprouts and soil removed, one liang each), Celosiae Semen, Poria Cocos (Black skin removed, one liang half each), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (one liang).
Fifteen ingredients above. Pound and sieve into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, administered with warm water after meals, and again before bed.
Decoction for Treating Wind-Heat Attacking Upwards, Eyelid Sores, and Unceasing Pain: Xi Jiao Tang Formula
Rhinocerotis Cornu (Shavings), Coptidis Rhizoma (Fibers removed), Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Chopped, fried until fragrant), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Roasted, chopped), Bambusae Caulis in Taenias (Green bamboo shavings, one liang each), Fraxini Cortex (Rough bark removed, chopped, half liang).
Six ingredients above. Coarsely crush and sieve. Take three qian bi per dose, with one cup of water, decocted to six-tenths. Remove dregs, add Natrii Sulfas half a qian bi, let cool to warm temperature, take after meals, and again before bed.
Decoction for Treating Toxic Heat in Liver and Heart, Eye Sores, and Gritty Pain: Zhi Zi Tang Formula
Gardeniae Fructus (Half liang), Rhinocerotis Cornu (Shavings, one liang), Akebiae Caulis (Chopped), Scutellariae Radix (Black heart removed, half liang each), Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Chopped, fried), Dianthi Herba (One liang each), Coptidis Rhizoma (Fibers removed, three fen), Plantaginis Semen (one liang).
Eight ingredients above. Coarsely crush and sieve. Take five qian bi per dose, with one and a half cups of water, add seven leaves of Phyllostachys nigra, decoct to eight-tenths. Remove dregs, add Natrii Sulfas half a qian bi, let cool to warm temperature, take after meals, and again before bed.
Ointment for Treating Wind-Heat Eye Redness and Sores: Rui Ren Gao Formula
Pruni Semen Persicae (Skin removed, ground into paste, half liang), Halitum (Ground powder, one qian), Borax (A small amount).
Three ingredients above. Grind together thoroughly. Mix with a small amount of infant's milk to form a paste. Apply sesame-seed-sized amounts to the eyes three to five times daily.
Packet for Treating Eye Heat, Redness, Sores, and Clearing Opacities: Qing Liang Bao Formula
Coptidis Rhizoma (One fen, finely ground, preferably from Xuanzhou).
One ingredient above. Use one bowl of fresh water, scoop water facing east to obtain "reverse-flowing" water. Evenly sprinkle the Coptidis powder into the bowl. Place a piece of prepared Artemisia moxa, sized like a chicken egg, on seven ancient copper coins. Surround with forty bronze coins to form a stack. Place the bowl containing Coptidis powder on top. Ignite the moxa. When the smoke is exhausted, sweep down the Coptidis powder. Store in a double-layer silk bag. Soak in infant's milk. Drip occasionally into the eyes until a bitter taste permeates the mouth. For acute red-eye conditions, this yields immediate results.
Nasal Snuff Powder for Treating Red Eye Sores, Swelling, and Pain: Dao Ren Tou San Formula
Dao Ren Tou (Three liang, finely ground), Frankincense (One qian).
Two ingredients above. Grind into powder. Use one qian per dose, burn on an incense cake, and inhale the smoke into the nose.
Eye Drop Pig Gallbladder Formula for Treating Red Eye Sores, Pterygium, Difficulty Opening Eyes Day and Night, and Soreness:
Dried Porcine Vesica Bilei (Date-sized), Almond (Soaked in hot water, skin removed, ground, seven kernels), Mirabilite (One qian), Borax (One zi measure).
Four ingredients above. First, grind the almonds finely in a mortar. Then add the other three ingredients and grind together. Seal in a container overnight. Apply mustard-seed-sized amounts into the eye. Cold tears will flow. Recovery occurs naturally within ten days. Keep the medicine secret and protected from wind.
Eye Drop Huang Lian San Formula for Treating Wind-Induced Eye Redness, Dryness, Latent Pain, Swelling, and Sores:
Coptidis Rhizoma (Fibers removed, ground), Pruni Semen Persicae (Skin removed, one fen each), Lead Subcarbonate (One qian).
Three ingredients above. First, remove the membrane from Pruni Semen Persicae. Grind extremely finely like powder using a walnut wood pestle in a copper vessel. Then add Coptidis powder and Lead Subcarbonate, mix and grind until fine. Apply one mustard-seed-sized amount at the corner of the eye every night. Recovery occurs within three to five applications.
Eye Drop Rui Ren Gao Formula for Treating Liver Deficiency with Wind Itching, Sores, and Excessive Tearing:
Pruni Semen Persicae (Skin removed, ground, one fen), Lead Subcarbonate (Chess-piece sized, roasted over fire until red and gold-colored is best), Borax (One qian).
Three ingredients above. First, grind Lead Subcarbonate and Pruni Semen Persicae separately. Mix with high-quality true butter (Su) the size of an apricot kernel and grind together. Add Borax and grind until extremely fine like a paste. Wrap in oil paper or store in a copper box to prevent leakage and exposure to wind. For infants with congenital red eyes, or adults with chronic red, itchy, painful eyes: First, take a little salt flower, boil in one sheng of sour bean water until five boils occur. Filter through cotton cloth to extract juice. At night, wash eyes with clear water first, then with the salt flower water, and dry. Pick up a sesame-sized amount with a fingernail and apply to the eye, allowing blinking. Tears will flow shortly after. The eyes will feel cool and cold, as if blown upon, and vision will gradually clarify.
