茯苓、黄芩、栀子仁、芒硝（各五两）、赤石脂、升麻、紫菀（各二两）、生麦门冬（五两，去心）、竹叶（切碎一升）、香豉（一升，炒制）、石膏（八两，捣碎用绵布包裹）、生地黄（切碎一升）。
以上十二味药切碎。用水九升，煎煮至二升。滤去药渣。加入芒硝。分三次服用。忌食醋类食物和芜荑。
又治疗脉象极热。伤风损伤脉道，形成心风证。心风的症状是多汗且缺乏滋润。清除极度虚热。止汗。麻黄汤方。
麻黄（去节）、杏仁（各四两，去皮尖，双仁者捣碎）、栀子仁、黄芩、防风、紫菀（各三两）、升麻、桂心、茯神、人参（各三两）、大枣（二十枚，掰开）、石膏（六两，捣碎用绵布包裹）、桑根白皮（一升）。
以上十三味药切碎。用水一斗，先煮麻黄三沸，去掉浮沫。加入其他药物。煎煮至三升。滤去药渣。分三次服用。忌食生葱和醋类食物。
又治疗脉象极热。遇风邪成为痹证。痹邪侵犯心脏。面色苍白无光泽。脉象空虚。口唇颜色红而干燥。升麻润色消痹止热极汤方。
升麻、射干、川芎、人参（各三两）、赤小豆（五合）、生姜（四合）、麦门冬（去心，四两）、葳蕤（四两）、生地黄（切碎一升）、甘草（二两，蜜炙）、竹叶（切碎一升）。
以上十一味药切碎。用水一斗，煎煮至二升。滤去药渣。分三次服用。忌食海藻、白菜和芜荑。（均出自第八卷）
[Translation]
"Shanfan" treats extreme excess heat in the pulse. Pathogenic heat damages the Heart, causing the Heart to be prone to sudden anger. The mouth changes color to red. Speech is not fluent. Clears heat. Harmonizes Qi and Blood, regulates the pulse mechanism. Fuling Tang (Poria Decoction) Formula.
Fuling (Poria), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Zhizi Ren (Gardenia Seed), Mangxiao (Mirabilite) (each 5 liang), Chishizhi (Red Halloysite), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Ziwan (Asteris Radix) (each 2 liang), Sheng Maidong (Fresh Ophiopogonis Tuber) (5 liang, remove heart), Zhuye (Bambusae Folium) (1 sheng, cut), Xiangchi (Prepared Soybean) (1 sheng, stir-fried), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (8 liang, crushed, wrapped in silk), Sheng Dihuang (Fresh Rehmanniae Radix) (1 sheng, cut).
The above twelve herbs are cut. Boil with 9 sheng of water until 2 sheng remains. Strain the dregs. Add Mangxiao. Divide into three doses. Avoid vinegar products and Wuyi (Chenopodium seed).
Also treats extreme heat in the pulse. Wind injury damages the vessels, forming Xin Feng (Heart Wind). The manifestation of Xin Feng includes excessive sweating and lack of moisture. Clears extreme deficiency heat. Stops sweating. Mahuang Tang (Ephedra Decoction) Formula.
Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, remove nodes), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) (each 4 liang, remove skin and sharp ends, crush if two kernels), Zhizi Ren (Gardenia Seed), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Ziwan (Asteris Radix) (each 3 liang), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (each 3 liang), Dazao (Jujubae Fructus) (20 pieces, torn open), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (6 liang, crushed, wrapped in silk), Sanggen Baipi (Mori Cortex) (1 sheng).
The above thirteen herbs are cut. Boil with 1 dou of water. First boil Mahuang for three boils, remove the foam. Add the other herbs. Boil until 3 sheng remains. Strain the dregs. Divide into three doses. Avoid raw green onions and vinegar products.
Also treats extreme heat in the pulse. Encountering wind leads to Bi Syndrome (Obstruction Syndrome). Bi pathogen affects the Heart. The face appears pale and lusterless. The pulse is empty. The lips are red and dry. Shengma Runse Xiao Bi Zhi Reji Tang (Cimicifuga Moistening Color Eliminating Bi Stopping Extreme Heat Decoction) Formula.
Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Shegan (Belamcandae Rhizoma), Xiong (Ligusticum Wallichii / Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (each 3 liang), Chixiaodou (Adzuki Bean), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) (4 he), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, remove heart) (4 liang), Weirui (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma) (4 liang), Sheng Dihuang (Fresh Rehmanniae Radix) (1 sheng, cut), Gancao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried) (2 liang), Zhuye (Bambusae Folium) (1 sheng, cut).
The above eleven herbs are cut. Boil with 1 dou of water until 2 sheng remains. Strain the dregs. Divide into three doses. Avoid Haizao (Sargassum), Songcai (Chinese Cabbage), and Wuyi. (All from Volume 8)
