又用新的朱砂笔在黄纸上（如果没有新朱砂笔，用新墨笔也可以）写上“忘敬遗”三个字，贴在床柱上以及门窗上。凡是生下的婴儿，要立即另外准备香纸，将写有字的黄表纸焚化，送到流动的水中冲走，如果迟缓恐怕会导致大肠随之下脱。
又在乡村偏僻没有药物的地方，不幸遇到这种情况，就去寻找花椒叶、香橼叶、柚子叶、茱萸叶、生姜、生葱、紫苏叶，温热后铺在腹部上。先在下面垫上葱白，然后再铺上沙子。又用蓖麻子（七粒去壳）研成泥状，加入麝香（一分）再研磨均匀，涂在产妇的脚心。胎儿生下后立即洗掉，如果迟缓恐怕会导致子宫脱垂。如果子宫已经脱出，可以移到涂在产妇头顶心，子宫就会收回。这个方子催产下胎虽然迅速，但药性猛烈峻急，使用者务必谨慎。
又取乌梅（一个）、巴豆（三个）、胡椒末捣成膏状，用酒和醋调和后贴敷在脐下，胎儿就会产出。又取巴豆（三个）、蓖麻子（七个），共同去壳捣烂，摊在油纸上贴敷在脐下三指宽处。产后立即用湿布将药物擦干净，以免腐蚀皮肤。（此方与上面两个方子一样，如果在未临产月误用，只会导致打胎徒然伤害孕妇，务必谨慎）。又名龟壳散，能打开交骨，治疗难产及死胎。用龟版（二两）、川芎、当归（各一两）、发灰（五钱），加上蝉蜕（七个）、蛇蜕（一条），调匀敷在腹部上。闭目静卧一时辰即可分娩。或者加车前子（一两）一起敷用。
Take the eastern-leading branches of a locust tree (Huai Shu) and hold them in hand. Also grasp the head of a cormorant (Lu Tou) with your hand. This is highly effective. Take one horse bit (Ma Xian). When pain is felt, have the parturient hold a single leaf in her left hand. Whether it is a flower leaf or a grass leaf, all are acceptable; it must be fresh and green. Moisten it with clean water and stick it to the back of the bed. Do not let others know. Hold one horse bit in each hand, and delivery will occur. Take fourteen seeds of Castor Bean (Bì Mā Zǐ), holding seven in each hand. The fetus will be delivered shortly.
Write the characters "Wang, Jing, Yi" on yellow paper using a new vermilion brush (if no new vermilion brush is available, a new ink brush may be used). Paste this paper on the bedposts and on doors and windows. Once the baby is born, quickly prepare incense and paper, burn the yellow paper with the writing, and send it into flowing water. If delayed, there is a risk of rectal prolapse.
In remote villages where medicine is unavailable, should such a situation occur, seek leaves of Sichuan Pepper (Huā Jiāo), Citron (Xiāng Yuán), Pomelo (Yòu Zi), Cornus (Zhū Yú), fresh ginger (Shēng Jiāng), green onion (Shēng Cōng), and Perilla (Zǐ Sù). Warm them and spread them over the abdomen. First place scallion whites underneath, then cover with sand. Grind seven peeled Castor Bean (Bì Mā Zǐ) seeds into a paste, add one fen of Musk (Shè Xiāng), grind again, and apply to the soles of the parturient's feet. Wash off immediately after delivery; if delayed, uterine prolapse may occur. If the uterus has already prolapsed, move the application to the vertex of the parturient's head, and the uterus will retract. Although this formula accelerates delivery, its medicinal properties are fierce and harsh; users must exercise caution.
Grind one Smoked Plum (Wū Méi), three Croton Seeds (Bā Dòu), and pepper powder into a paste. Mix with wine and vinegar, and apply below the navel. Delivery will follow. Alternatively, take three Croton Seeds (Bā Dòu) and seven Castor Bean (Bì Mā Zǐ) seeds, remove shells, and mash together. Spread onto oiled paper and apply to the area three finger-widths below the navel. Immediately after delivery, wipe the medicine clean with a wet cloth to prevent skin erosion. (Like the previous two formulas, if used mistakenly before term, it will only induce abortion and harm the pregnant woman; exercise caution.) It is also known as Tortoise Shell Powder (Guī Ké Sǎn), capable of opening the symphysis pubis, treating dystocia and retained dead fetus. Use two liang of Tortoise Shell (Guī Bǎn), one liang each of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuān Xiōng) and Angelica Sinensis Radix (Dāng Guī), five qian of Ashed Hair (Fà Huī), plus seven Cicada Slough (Chán Tuì) and one Snake Slough (Shé Tuì). Mix and apply to the abdomen. Close eyes and rest quietly for one shichen (two hours), and delivery will occur. Alternatively, add one liang of Plantago Seed (Chē Qián Zǐ) and apply.
