Take one pill of Kehuan Wan (Carved Joy Pill), hold it in the painful area; the condition will be cured once the pill dissolves.
Ma Yuanyi commented: It is highly effective for treating wind-fire toothache (dental pain caused by wind and fire pathogens).
Apply Shuijin San (Water Gold Powder) by insufflating or wiping it on the affected area to stop bleeding immediately.
Ma Yuanyi commented: It is also effective for epistaxis (nosebleed) and hematuria (blood in urine).
Apply Xiangqing Bing (Fragrant Clear Cake) to the Yongquan acupoint (KI-1, Gushing Spring) on the left side for males and the right side for females; recovery occurs within one week.
Ma Yuanyi commented: This is a medication for drawing out toxins externally and can be used. However, it must not be cut open.
Apply Sihuang San (Four Yellows Powder) to wipe the affected area; recovery follows immediately.
Ma Yuanyi commented: Suitable for excess heat syndromes.
Hold Erdong San (Two Winter Powders) in the mouth; recovery follows immediately.
Ma Yuanyi commented: This prescription is miraculous for deficiency heat syndromes. The symptoms of deficiency heat present as a pale and dull complexion, distinct from excess heat.
First, prick the tip of the tongue with a needle to release dark purple blood, then apply Xihuang San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder); the tongue will soften in an instant.
Ma Yuanyi commented: Tongue stiffness is caused by phlegm-fire rising; one should take decoctions to descend it. Relying solely on topical application is of no benefit.
Apply Biqian San (Spider Web Powder) by insufflation; it is most effective.
Ma Yuanyi commented: This prescription is quite effective for treating throat pain caused by phlegm-fire.
There are seven types of throat disorders, resembling moths on chopstick heads. Throat conditions without visible swelling may lead to closure, while Suohou syndrome (Lock-throat) differs. Internal heat accumulation in Chanhou (Coiling-throat) causes numbness, itching, and external swelling. Shortness of breath, cold extremities, and airway obstruction characterize Houbi (Throat obstruction) with snoring and rattling phlegm; if Lung Qi fails, rapid treatment is required. Houquan (Throat lichen) arises from deficiency stagnation, presenting with mild itching and pain but no swelling or closure; its lingering nature is peculiar. A pearl-like nodule hanging in the throat (referring to tonsillar hypertrophy) can cause immediate harm if incised. Medication insufflated through the nose breaks the nodule, and the disease recedes.
Use a long, fine brush made of pure purple badger hair. Tie the base of the brush firmly with silk thread, grind Jingmo (Beijing Ink) thickly, and soak the brush thoroughly. Allow the brush to dry completely until extremely hard, then use it to puncture the throat instead of a knife. Although the patient is pricked, there is no damage, and even the family members will not feel fear when observing this.
Grind Diyu (Sanguisorbae Radix) into a fine powder like flour, soak in sesame oil, and apply. For broken skin, sprinkle dry powder over the applied ointment. If ulcers fail to heal, take Fulonggan (Dragon's House Earth), roast it red in charcoal fire, process it using the water-flying method, dry it, and grind it into a fine powder. Mix with human milk for topical application. Alternatively, wipe the affected area with cotton thread dipped in oil to relieve pain instantly; recovery usually occurs within two applications. Its efficacy is swift and miraculous, making it a holy medicine for scalds and burns.
