Pi Fan Zheng (Eyelid Eversion Syndrome) presents with eversion of the eyelids, resembling the shape of a tongue licking lips. This eversion is caused by swelling of the eyelids and tightness of the eyelashes, with its pathological origin lying in blood stasis and qi stagnation of the Stomach Meridian.
[Note] This syndrome results from blood stasis and qi stagnation in the Stomach Meridian, and is common in children. The eyelids evert outward, presenting a shape like a tongue licking lips. Similarly, in cases of wind-induced ulceration from smallpox/variolous diseases where the eyelids are swollen and tense at the margins, the eyelids may also evert. Treatment should focus on purging accumulated heat from the Spleen and Stomach; taking Xie Huang San (Poria and Gastrodia Decoction for Purging Heat) will lead to recovery. There are also cases of inward eversion, known in ophthalmology as "Quan Mao Dao Jie" (In-turned Eyelashes). Cases where the eyelid margin is either lax or tense but not inverted inward or outward correspond to the ophthalmological condition "Bao Chui Nan Shi" (Ptosis Hindering Vision).

Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 5 qian) Zhi Zi Ren (Gardeniae Fructus, raw, 1 liang) Gan Cao (Licorice Root, raw, 3 liang) Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, mixed with wine, lightly stir-fried until fragrant, 2 liang) Huo Xiang Ye (Agastaches Herba, steamed with wine, sun-dried, 4 liang)
Grind all into a fine powder. Adults with strong constitutions take 2 qian, those with weak constitutions take 1 qian, and children take 6-7 fen. Mix with plain boiled water and ingest.
[Prescription Song] Xie Huang San treats Pi Fan Zheng, combining Shi Gao, Zhi Zi, Gan Cao, and Fang Feng; grinding Huo Xiang Ye together into fine powder and mixing with boiled water yields miraculous effects.
Lou Jing Chuang (Leaking Eye Ulcer) occurs at the inner canthus (Da Zi), caused by Liver Heat combined with Wind-Dampness. It manifests at the Jing Ming acupoint of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian. This acupoint is the storage site for tears. Initially, it appears like a bean or date, with redness, swelling, and pain. Although the ulcer seems minor, the root cause is deep. If it ruptures and discharges thick white pus, it is a favorable sign (Shun); if it discharges dark green/black pus or pus resembling paste, it is a dangerous sign (Xian). In the early stage, Shu Feng Qing Gan Tang (Wind-Dispersing and Liver-Clearing Decoction) should be taken. After rupture, Huang Ling Yao (Yellow Spirit Medicine) strips should be inserted into the wound, accompanied by the application of Wan Ying Gao (Universal Ointment), allowing the wound to gradually contract and heal. If pus drains from within the inner canthus, forming a fistula, it becomes difficult to heal. In some cases, excessive tearing from the ulcer causes dryness inside the eye, slowing contraction further; if the ulcer destroys the eyelid margin muscles/tendons, it is considered incurable.
