Erythema oris (Thrush) presents as white spots covering the entire mouth, generated by heat in the Heart and Spleen meridians of infants. In newborns, it is often due to fetal heat; in severe cases, the throat swells layer by layer with pain.
[Note] This condition is common in infants, caused by heat in the Heart and Spleen meridians. In newborns, it results from fetal heat attacking upwards, causing white spots throughout the mouth accompanied by pain. Severe cases involve layered swelling of the throat, making breastfeeding difficult and leading to frequent crying. The treatment method involves wrapping a strip of green gauze around the head of a chopstick, dipping it in freshly drawn cold water, and wiping away the white coating until clean. It is acceptable if slight bleeding occurs with firm pressure. Subsequently, apply Bingpeng San (Ice and Borax Powder) externally and administer Liangge San (Cooling the Diaphragm Decoction) internally for recovery.

Liangge San (See Facial Furuncles section)
Koumi (Oral Mucosal Ulceration) arises from Yin deficiency and Yang fire hyperactivity, with dampness from the Bladder meridian overflowing into the Spleen meridian. Dampness and heat stagnate and熏蒸 (fume/steaming) the Stomach opening, resulting in full-mouth ulceration, redness, and pain.
[Note] This condition is caused by excessive Yang and deficient Yin, where dampness from the Bladder overflows into the Spleen meridian. Dampness and heat stagnate, transforming into heat after prolonged retention. Heat steams the Stomach region, causing extensive oral ulceration, worse than simple oral ulcers, with redness and pain. Severe cases extend to the throat, preventing eating and drinking. At the onset, Daochi Tang (Guide Out Redness Decoction) is suitable. For halitosis and diarrhea due to Spleen deficiency and dampness, Jiawei Lianli Tang (Modified Coptis and Licorice Decoction) is appropriate. If ulceration extends to the throat with symptoms lighter during the day and heavier at night, Shaoyin Ganjie Tang (Shaoyin Licorice and Platycodon Decoction) should be taken. For constipation, Liangge San (Cooling the Diaphragm Decoction) is used. Externally, Jiangbai San (Ginger and Phellodendron Powder) is effective.
