凡是小儿疳积病在体内，表现为眼睛干涩、腹部胀满，痢疾颜色不定，有时像米汤沉淀物一样，身体日渐消瘦。这种证候是可以治疗的。如果鼻子下方发红溃烂，孩子自己揉搓鼻子，头上长疮，结痂且疼痛发痒，逐渐蔓延到双耳，经常眼睛发红，头发稀疏，头皮光亮紧绷，头大脖子细，肌肉身体消瘦，这也是可以治疗的。如果嘴唇和口腔被腐蚀，牙龈呈现五色或全部焦黑，舌头下有白色疮疡，上面有孔洞，口中时常有臭气，牙龈逐渐染黑欲腐烂，这必定是可以治疗的。如果下部（肛门）开张，有时发红溃烂，瘙痒难忍，腹泻没有规律，这也是可以治疗的。如果疳积侵蚀脊背，十个手指发痒，自己咬指甲，头发竖起成穗状，脊骨像锯子一样突出，有时腹胀，有时腹泻。
