Leprosy-like diseases (Lai Ji) are all caused by the invasion of evil wind pathogens, as well as by violating taboos and suffering from harmful influences. Initially, the skin and hair may turn black, or there may be intense itching resembling the sensation of insects crawling on the skin, or visual disturbances where objects appear like hanging silk threads.
Pi Wan Fang (Snake Skin Pill Formula) for treating Wu Lai (Black Leprosy):
Take She Tui (Ophichan's Skin, one piece, roasted until charred yellow), Kui Ge (Tridacna Shell, one piece), Ran She Tou (Rat Snake Head, one piece, coated with butter and roasted until slightly yellow), Meng Chong (Blue Bottle Fly Larva, three pieces, stir-fried until slightly yellow), Qi Lao (Cricket Grub, three pieces, stir-fried until rice-yellow), Wu Gong (Centipede, one piece, remove head and feet, stir-fried until slightly yellow), Ba Dou (Croton Seed, ten pieces, remove skin and heart, stir-fried), Da Huang (Rhubarb Root, 1 liang).
The above herbs are crushed, sifted into fine powder, mixed evenly with the prepared powders, and bound with refined honey to form pills the size of small beans. Take one pill per dose, washed down with warm water, once on an empty stomach and once before bed. If ineffective, gradually increase the dose to two pills.
