For those suffering from Five Ge Qi (Five Obstruction Qi) accompanied by vomiting of sour fluid, the condition arises from stagnation of Qi in the chest, residual cold in the Stomach, and accumulation of retained water that affects the Spleen and Stomach. When the Spleen is affected by dampness and water, it loses its ability to transform fluids.
To treat Five Ge Qi with vomiting of sour fluid, characterized by attacking cold Qi causing stabbing pain in the chest, distension and fullness in the abdomen and hypochondrium, and inability to take food, use Baizhu San (Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder).
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (1 liang), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) (0.5 liang), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus) (0.5 liang, soaked in hot water seven times, dried, slightly stir-fried), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex) (1 liang), Chenjupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) (1 liang, crushed, slightly stir-fried).
