The Spleen receives the essence of water and grain, transforms it into Qi and Blood, thereby nourishing the Zang-Fu organs and irrigating the physical body. If Spleen Qi is deficient, Qi and Blood will fail to flourish and moisten, leading to loose muscle texture and pores. Wind pathogens then invade the meridians, causing disharmony between Yin and Yang, stagnation and dysfunction in the Middle Jiao, accumulation of phlegm-fluids, and retention within the Spleen, thus resulting in excessive salivation.
For treating Wind-stagnation in the Spleen organ with Qi stagnation and excessive salivation, accompanied by fullness and oppression in the chest and diaphragm, and inability to take food, the Qianhu San (Peucedanum Powder) formula is suitable.
